i find it hilarious

music vids dont always have to be serious or make sense

If was some kind of drug related song it would make some sense.

ps:sry bad english -.-

again music vids arent meant to make sense all the time

i mean hell fat boy slim did an awesome vid of christopher walken just dancing

did that make much sense? no! it was freakin awesome video though.

Completely agree except I just don't see the humor in people dancing around in an elephant costume. I might have found that somewhat amusing when I was in elementary school but now?

How long do you think it took to dream up this brilliant concept? 5 minutes? (If it took any longer, then something has gone seriously wrong)

The only good in the video is the art direction.

Oh for **** sake! It's a harmless, fun video. What do you want? Chris Martin sitting in a darkened room singing it? Is that arty/serious enough for you?

The day I'm offended and upset by a video with an elephant riding a unicycle is the day I head off to Switzerland and end it all legally.

Fun? I dont know, i didnt laughed at all. Maybe i little whit Jonny's cap.

Also is it in Coldplay's contract terms that they can leave after LP5? If so - good. With the dire straits EMI are in I feel slightly sorry in that they probably are releasing certain songs that they would rather leave off. If EMI weren't down the shitter then these executives really wouldn't be pressurising the band as much as they would. I can see a greatest hits album being the next major release for the band in a couple of years and then that's it. Mylo Xyloto is about as big and poppy as they're probably going to get so I think they'll make the decision to set up their own label after this. The alternative to that is a massive record deal with another major label which would probably see all sorts of records smashed.

Yes, they can leave EMI after LP5.

At first I thought they already essentially made that decision last year. But now looking at the article, I'm not sure if that's what they really did. I thought they signed with Universal for future LPs instead of EMI, but what they did was sign with Universal for future songwriting instead of BMG. So now I'm not so sure they've really left.

And I thought the video was amusing, no hate here.

Oh dear. I'm listening to Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends for the first time in a long time and I feel it has already thrown Mylo Xyloto into touch and I haven't even heard that record yet. Listening to how good Lovers In Japan/Reign Of Love made me not believe in this new record now! Man does that record have summits to scale and at present i feel it's equipped with nothing especially when hearing those singles in comparison to the singles released from this new record.

Really not enjoying this MX release phase. I loved the VLV release phase though. I think reading too many opinions on how good or how shit it is has warped my mind. I'm off this site until Monday at least.

Oh please. Look people, a normal music video would have just made more people hate Paradise. I was worried that they would take themselves too seriously with this song, try and make a video that was deep and meaningful, something that the song itself is obviously not (though I do like it). I think they managed to convey the message they wanted (breakaway from the prison of everyday life! Find your paradise!) in a fun, creative way.

I agree with that, I hate the song but the video is actually cute and silly. I like it.

Well said Hartoc.

You know, I really dislike the song Paradise, but I find the video quite cute and silly. What's wrong with a nonsense video? It would get dull pretty fast if everything was taken seriously.

Like the vid for ETIAW, the Paradise vid made the song almost bearable. I didn't like the end but I loved the rest of it. And for those who don't like it, bear this in mind. It could've been a girly vid directed by Hype Williams. I'll take a silly elephant video over that any day.

I'm not gonna lie, there's a part of me that hopes they will ditch EMI after this release, go independent, and record a much darker, less gimmicky and less radio friendly album. However, I doubt this'll happen. There's a part of me which feels Coldplay have hit the point of no return now.

I still don't understand why they're elephants |:

Maybe they're supporting the Republicans for the 2012 election?

Bachmann/Berryman 2012

I still don't understand why they're elephants |:

maybe they are making fun of fat people
