okay.I used to be a Coldplay not-liker. Not hater, just I didn't like them. Maybe I can explain why people hate or not-like them so much because I used to be like them. When I saw a coldplay video clip or interview on Tv,I was changing the channel very quickly. I couldn't even endure to them. English is not mother language so I can not explain what I feel when I saw them on Tv or magazines. Espacially in Viva era I really hated them because of their clothes and the song called: viva la vida. And also Violett Hill's video clip and Stawberry Swing's video clip. Their videos seemed pretended to me.Furthermore There were Viva la Vida in everywhere. I hate bands if they become trendy and also everybody listen to them.

on the other hand I used to listen punk rock and Colplay's sound was different,slow and so stupid for me. My friend was a Coldplay fan and he tried to make me a Coldplay fan he sent me songs and showed me some lyrics of coldplay. (now I'm very very very very thankful him.) I said to him that they were so slow,they were for middle age people,maybe I can listen them in my 30s but not now.

 

But everything has changed with two songs: Yellow and Warning Sign.One day, I put those songs to my music player randomly. Later Yellow began to play when I was very very gloomy in the bus,and after Yellow Warning Sign began. You can guess what happened after those songs. Now I'm here,I'm very regretful why I didn't begin to listen them years years ago. they're not stupid,they're not for middle age person.they've changed lots of things in my life. .They've changed my life vision. they're just the greatest band in the world that I've even listened. I'm writing those words honestly. I watched their every recorded concerts and interviews that I found in the internet and Coldplaying.com. I can say they have a different world and so Coldplay fans have a different world thanks to them.

Everything you said was "fair comment" IMO. You criticised their music, videos and clothes, but you didn't attack any members of the band on a personal level or call their music 'gay', as 'haters' do.

 

The only thing I will say is, it isn't Coldplay's fault they became "trendy" (if that is indeed the case) and "everybody started listening to them" because they were "in".

I lot of the bands and singers I like don't have anywhere near as much success or popularity as Coldplay, and I don't care whether they become "superstars" or not.

Actually, one of the downsides of Coldplay's "mega-stardom" is that it's very difficult for them to play smaller venues any more, as they have to keep so many fans satisfied all over the world.

I don't enjoy stadium or festival performances anywhere near as much.

 

Anyway, I'm glad you have now come to appreciate at least some of Coldplay's music, and I hope you remain a fan for years to come.:cool:

yes,I never called any of member as a curse I've just critisied their music and other stuffs. honestly I didn't even know the members.I knew only Chris because he is Gwyneth's husband :D

you're right, becoming a superstar or popularity in everywhere are not their fault,it is their success. I didn't like them during viva era because they were in everywhere. We will see in LP5 era, there will be plenty haters in this site or there will be plenty hater-comments on magazines and newspaper. because there will be everywhere and a lot of people will JEALOUS their job and begin to blame them in different ways.

Hate to break it to you guys, but jealousy is not the reason.

^^ I think they would still get hatred from people, but maybe not as much. The sort of 'hate' that comes from not liking their style of music is fine (I, for one, don't care for the music that Ke$ha, Lady Gaga, Justin Beiber, etc. put out) but to harbor a 'hatred' for one particular group is rather immature. Especially if there are other groups within the same genre that you frequently listen to (i.e. Coldplay and their fans get a lot of crap from the U2 and Radiohead forums).

 

Some people are just immature and unwilling to look past what they've heard from other people about the band. Maybe their friends are Coldplay haters, and to fit in, individuals go along with what the group says.

if I don't like some kind of music, I can simply not listen to it. Especially nowadays, when you have so many possibilities, you don't have to listen to the radio, watch music televisions, you can mix the music you like for yourself and just simply ignore the music you don't like. Why hate?
