so... no car kids??

I just think it doesn't make sense. If 'Car Kids' was a song that didn't make the final cut..why make it into shirts that everyone in the band wears?

I kinda think that's just their uniform this time around. like the viva uniform was their homemade attire last time.

i thought...maybe they'll start selling them but they didn't do that with the viva jackets and they could've so i doubt it.

i think if it's not a song...it pertains to something about their overall concept with 'Mylo Xyloto'.

Possibility! The line in the second half of UWTB that says "Good Things are Coming Our Way" could be a split ending, the Car Kids could be saying it if it's just a general group of characters in the album, or that line could lead into an EP of like 6 songs, and Car Kids be on it.

I think Car Kids is the second half of Up With The Birds.

No possibility of that at all:

11 minutes to go (Chris says car kids is a song about old people complaining about young people. Up with the birds isn't about that):

And the oracle:

Q. I've been wondering this for a long while now as I'm sure many others have, it was on Chris' shirt, the home page background. What does Car Kids mean? Is it a lyric or a song on the new album? Thanks Oracle!!

The Oracle replies:

Yeah, as far as I know it was a song pencilled in for inclusion on Mylo Xyloto but didn't make it on to the final tracklisting. We may hear it one day, who knows?

It's not on the album.

and what about the song with '...luminous...' lyrics reported on MX cover??? it's another mystery song....

It's not a reference to Charlie Brown?

So? Lyrics from Moving To Mars are plastered all over their instruments too.

If the band thought that Car Kid wasn't good enough to be on Mylo Xyloto, then I don't want it.

Nonsense.

MTM is also not on the Album and it's better than ETIAW or Paradise.

And if Car Kids is an actual Song i would give anything to hear it.

It's not a reference to Charlie Brown?

On the Cover is a whole Verse or even 2 Verses.

It's Obviously not from Charlie Brown or any Song of MX.

The band thought that MTM is an excellent song but knew that it wouldn't fit perfectly with the album so they found a way to release it.

If they don't want to release CK, then I'm ok with that.

I think MTM fits.

And im sure Car Kids will be an excellent Song got the same feeling i had with Cartoon Heart aka Charlie Brown.

But i can't remember that Coldplay said Car Kids is bad or too bad for MX.. they never mentioned it..only in the Interview ages ago and they also have it on their Clothes.

They'll release it on a B-Side or even on an EP.

not totally about car kids but a possible unreleased track:

In the making of feature interview on NME Chris says that they have a song on the album that features Juanita Stein of the Howling Bells. This interview was done the day before the album was due so it seems the song was at least a strong contender for making the album right up to the last minute. Maybe Up In Flames took its place... who knows.

Is there another female vocal in the mix on the album anywhere that I missed?

Juanita Stein sings in Up with the Birds.

REALLY[/color][/u][/i][/b] want to hear Tomorrow.

For some reason I have always been under the assumption that Tomorrow is an instrumental prelude to Car Kids... this based only on the fact that they were painted together on the album artwork so... I could be wrong.

Don't worry guys Car Kids will be the B-side of Charlie Brown single; it'll be released by the end of the year IMO

IF Charlie Brown becomes a single, IF they want to release Car Kids, IF IF IF.

Maybe we will never hear it too.

Maybe they'll sing it live.

Maybe maybe if maybe if if maybe.

Oh and what about an EP ?

I think Car Kids IS Charlie Brown

they mention kids in the lyrics

boys and girls, etc..

Charlie Brown and all his friends were CARtoon KIDS

I don't think it is Charlie Brown, but I'm pretty sure they are strongly related. 'lost boys'= 'car kids'??

I don't think Car Kids is like Famous Old Painters, though. Famous Old Painters never really had much coverage by the band. Car Kids is, I think, the MX era's "Prospekt". Prospekt was a whole theme that went on during the VLV era, what with the reports from the studio and all, and though it never went on the album, it made it onto the EP. Car Kids seems a lot like that, where it's mentioned EVERYWHERE, even on the album art, but didn't make it on the album, and even Oracle confirmed it to be a song they pretty much finished. That's why I think we'll hear it eventually, in some form or another.

What I wouldn't give to hear all those other songs they scrapped...

Do you remember that photo of the boys in front of a car? I think that it was taken in Japan. Maybe it has something to do with the Car Kids theme. Or maybe it's just a photo from the booklet (I don't know if it is or not because I don't have the physical album). Or if not, maybe it's a photo from the Pop-up edition. Who knows.
