FINALLY I watched the Toronto gig last night!! the download took forever :\ then when it was fully downloaded , a certain photo of a certain man in a black suit looking like heaven on earth kept me from functioning properly for a few days :rolleyes4: :embarrassed: but that is another story :sweatdrop:

Anyway, last night I turned the lights off, closed the doors, set my player to full screen & managed to watch that gig..that's my review:

AMAZING GIG!!! I didn't expect it to be that good, I can't imagine a gig without the viva chant!!I was wrong!! Oh My!! it was fabulous..I will comment on the crowd because they were great, just look at how happy their faces looked & how they sang along all the way :stunned: ( Oh I felt so happy for them, yet so jealous at the same time..I really need to go to a Coldplay concert but geography just sucks :\) the crowd really made the boys relax & feel happy..that was felt in their performance & Chris' praise of the crowd..just WOW

I agree with all your comments: the epic ending of clocks, the amazing version of SOS with the crowd singing ( I felt really high during that bit ), Jonny singing in Don't panic & that tribute of Ring of fire..

I have other things to comment on too: :)

- The beginning with Square one :dazzled: I Adore that song, it was such a great song to begin a concert with, & those ticking numbers in countdown & the beautiful piano near the end..such a great performance of a special song..I loved every bit of it

- then came Politik :stunned: well probably I would prefer it to be in the middle of the gig, not the 2nd song, especially after a powerful song as Square one because that's like firing 2 straight bullets into my brain..but then again Politik in its own right is a great song that could never go wrong..:)

- Yellow was a great moment too, loved the way Chris sang the part " I swam across..I'd jumped across for you " in a different way than the album version..it felt more intimate when he sang it that way

- Chris voice was wonderful throughout the show, he did ran out of breath during White shadows, but he made up for it by dragging Jonny to lie beside him on the ground  such a great moment..

- GPASUYF was epic..I guess they made changes to that song so many times live, & each time is even better than the previous..

- What if felt like the relaxing tone of the evening..The scientist was as great as always..Til' Kingdom come was really touching..( that harmonica Guy held was a serious weapon :P) I liked that part when all of them were standing close & Will on keyboards..

- I was really satisfied with the setlist which finished with Talk ( one of my early favourites) ..It was really a solid setlist with great songs, but then there came the encore :stunned: 3 amazing more songs with Swallowed in the sea almos filled my eyes with tears..such an emotional song..I loved it even more here with the piano solo.

I guess I have already wrote a lot, but i have to say that this cake club is a great idea..I hope I don't write late next week:)

Excellent review, Safy! Love your observations. They really do seem to get a massive kick out of performing "God Put A Smile Upon Your Face", don't they? But why not? It's a kickass song.

And yes. I understand what you are referring to about this recent distraction in the form of a handsome man in a suit. He does tend to drag one's attention away from many other things...

- Their X&Y style is so great, even if it was all black, but still I love it. And I love Chris' holey shirt

Black can either be very attractive or very boring. Thankfully, the band EASILY made it the former. They look HOT in black (and that made it all the more appropriate to sing Johnny Cash (ha, I almost spelled Johnny's name like Jonny . "Man in Black", and all that).

- Still I have to say: I'm so jealous of the girls that got be that near and got to touch Chris :D

Ergh, yeah, THIS. I'm amazed they ever let him go, instead of cling on for dear life.

So a documentary this week, then? Cool. I shall download if need be or just watch the link shared or whatever when the time comes to do so :). Can't wait to watch the next one, bring it on!

Excellent suggestion... is this a good one to watch Ceren? I'm DL it now... anyway..:D and the Manchester one... thanks girls for the links..

i downloaded it on youtube, but i couldn't find the link again :( but mine is the same quality with this one :\ because video is very old.. it is worth to watch though

I am downloading it at the moment, just to make sure I won't be late at reviewing this time;)

Cool.. But there is no late in here.. We don't give detention for late homework ;) :D Unless of course you fancy a bit of detention.? Detention with Coldplay doesn't sound too bad really does it? LOL

I have 'download helper' installed on my computer, thanks to my hubby, so all I do is click on that and I can download most things. I doesn't work on flash or stuff like that though.. and some embedded files are difficult to rip.

But if you want I can upload it to Mediafire or something for you to grab?

Oh could you do that, pretty please ? :wacky:

Because I've tried many times but nothing happens, the video doesn't start :bomb:

You are very welcome.. it's no trouble.. I hope it's good, I haven't seen it yet either.. Tomorrow... it's late here and I am going to bed in a moment... but maybe just ONE more thread! LOL..

Hehe, I know what that's like, Row :D. Sleep well. Pleasant dreams.

Well... Sunday night (here). Is it time to start commenting on this? Did you all watch?

I'll spoiler it, so I can say what I want to...

These are my opinions and thoughts, as they come to me..

Well first off, I didn't expect it to be such an old documentary, but no less interesting for all that.

But not entirely accurate was it?

Starfish.. this film gave the impression that they did quite a few gigs under that name, when we all know that's not the case.

Hardly ANY interviews with the band, lots of photos used over and over.. and all the interviews were more than likely recorded long before the video was put together.

Not one single interview or comment from Guy.. it was almost like he didn't exist!

Will looked so different! I couldn't get over how much he's changed since then! for the better obviously!

Not one single live performance in the entire thing... not even any songs from the band, so one can only assume this was a very un-official thing. Not approved by the band at all.

Some extremely young looking Chris's! LOL.. (although the bearded bits were very nice,.. :D )

Who were those people they interviewed?! A sound engineer, (Although my ears perked up when I heard they originally recorded in Puttenham... which according to the narrator is close to London.. it's not.. not really, unless you count 50 miles or so close!! Unless it's another Puttenham I don't know about.. I drove past there today.. :D) a promoter, some woman I forget what she was....and some odd bloke in some unknown (at least to me) band... although I thought the promoter (the girl with the terrible accent) was the only one who actually had anything interesting to say!

Her predictions about their future, and their fourth album were almost on the money! Which is amazing considering that X&Y wasn't even released at this point.. It gave me goosebumps..

I did enjoy it... although it was definitely amateurishly put together, and would as I pointed out above, have benefitted hugely by lots more interviews or quotes from the actual band.. rather than those random people! :P

Looking forward to hearing your opinions everyone.

What the woman said (she's an event planner or something like that, right ? ) about their future was indeed quite right! Except that it's after their 3rd album, not their 4th, that they changed direction, but yes, pretty much right!

It is obviously non official, since they shot by themselves something that looked like a shot from the Yellow video (the man walking on the beach), instead of showing the original one

And the interviewees are pretty random

But it was interesting, and they insisted a lot on how starting bands try to do a record and get signed and stuff.

And yes OHMYGOD Will!! SO different!

Screencaps spam to come :sneaky:

Oh, and btw, Row, the link you posted is for the gig, I think  Fortunately the link for the documentary eventually worked and I watched it yesterday. :)

And now I have the gig in my computer, so huge thanks :D
