Pick three songs you'd like to see DROPPED on the MX stadium tour

In My Place

God Put a Smile Upon Your Face

Lost!

I wouldn't call any of these songs indispensable or vital to a Coldplay live set. I actually have no idea why they've survived, especially in the case of In My Place and God Put a Smile Upon Your Face. They have many more interesting songs that they could replace them with.

In My Place is a very important live song for a special subgroup of fangirls :charming:

IMP

Lost!

Fix You (it's never going to happen though)

I don't get why they still play IMP. It's one of their weakest tracks :\

IMP and GPASUYF should have gone on the Twisted Logic Tour or the Viva la Vida Tour. I'm not sure why they're still there. As for Lost, that should have gone on the VLV Tour.

I wouldn't mind if they ended up coming back in a couple of tours time, it's just that they could play better songs right now.

I think the new version of GPASUYF is one of their best live songs

I don't think I've heard it. I remember the VLV Tour having an electronic version that went into Talk in videos I've seen and it looked cool. But I don't remember a new version of that song in the concerts I've watched (Glastonbury and Madrid).

I totally love IMP, it's the first Coldplay song I've ever heard. And GPASUYF is really good live song.

And I'm so sick of Lost! they have numerous of songs that better than Lost! to play, why can't they just stop playing it.

The new GPASOYF is awesome. Every time they tweak this song it works for me. The techno version is my favorite. I'm also still in the IMP and Lost camp. I could see Fix You go. I know people love it, but it's done. Even Chris has said he wouldn't written it today.

I loooooooooove LOST Live!! The way Chris moves in that song is zoo so soooo nice ahha every time i'm listening to that song, i see him dance in my head

^^OMG how can you say something like that about Fix You?!!!11!!!1 :disappointed:

I keed, but it is one of the fundamental CP songs.

GPASUYF is one of their best songs. Period. (I dislike the techno remix though.) I'm glad Politik and this song are on the setlist.

In My Place and Lost! could go... I wouldn't get rid of IMP but Lost! definitely could be substituted with LIJ or LIT II.

I wouldn't remove any of the current songs, they need to add up to 5 songs to this tour's setlist.

17 is just insufficient. They have enough songs for two 17 song setlists.

 this is a very tough one. I would definitely get rid of Lost, it's definitely the weakest Viva song live (especially compared to LIJ, DAAHF, 42...) :\

As for the other two, I agree with GPASUYF. As much as I love the song, unless they go back to the original version or the Twisted Logic tour version I don't want it to stay.

The other one I would choose to get rid of is Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall. (which is never gonna happen) I would much rather they played DLIBYH followed by UWTB in its place because they would so much better show off the band's live potential :)

GPASUYF should stay forever :dazzled:

Drop:

Lost!

Teardrop

IMP

Or Viva. So sick of it, but the chant is very important in their live shows, they'll always play it.

They're there because they were hits. Full Stop. I understand a lot of people here consider them weaker tracks compared to less well known songs, but they're key tracks in the band's catalog and will mostly likely be played at every gig the band do until the end of time, for better or worse.

^ To be honest, GPASUYF was not a hit.

But it's the best of the 3 songs, IMO.

I agree with the frustration about IMP. I don't find it THAT amazing. It has had a fair share of being played live, it's time to retire it.

The sexy version of GPASUYF is too sexy to get rid of! :sneaky:

Personally, I could get away without Clocks (yeah, I know I'm awful). I believe it's epic to see live as it's basically a legend, but I would rather see Strawberry Swing or LiJ or a whole Viva show :D

GPASUYF should stay forever :dazzled:

Drop:

Lost!

Teardrop

IMP

Or Viva. So sick of it, but the chant is very important in their live shows, they'll always play it.

You can't remove Viva!! :stunned: that's one of the best bits.. hearing that chant echo around the place! :D awesome.. :D

I wouldn't want them to take out GPASUYF either... I love the new version of this.. I don't think I have ever seen a drummer beat the living hell out of a drum kit like Will does on this ! And I am really really looking forward to seeing it in the summer ! And it gives Chris an opportunity to be a 'rock star' and throw guitars about a bit.. LOL..

I actually don't think I'd remove any  I'd just add a whole bunch more..

Get rid of:

GPASUYF (i've never loved that song - although in the last 2 weeks i've started to like it more)

Major Minus

Up in Flames

i would CRY if they played DLIBYH or Up with the Birds live - i love those songs sooo much and they means so much to me on a personal level.

i've never been to a show before either so I wished I hadn't missed out on Lovers in Japan live.

but In My Place is sooooooooo good!! seeing them play it at Live 8 was how I started obsessing over Coldplay. i would be devastated if they didn't play it.

Definitly IMP can go, it wasn't a mega-huge hit and it's run its course. I think they should drop either GPASUYF or Major Minus, since they both run in the same kind of rock-out vein, you don't really need both. Also Paradise could be cut, it's been played to death and it's time some other songs from MX got their time in the sun

Lost has always been one of my least favorite CP songs. Even live, I usually just zone out on that song. It needs to go.

Lost

In My Place

Violet Hill - it's just not that good live.

Off-topic, but: Yellow is too fast nowadays. Slow it down, plz.

Up in Flames

Lost!

That's it, their sets are so short now. They have a seriously amazing live catalogue :'(

You can't remove Viva!! :stunned: that's one of the best bits.. hearing that chant echo around the place! :D awesome..

I know Row :) It might be the best moment of their whole show and it would be silly for them not to play it.

It's just that I am sick of the song. So if I were to pick a set list at my own private concert (:dazzled: You guys are all invited! :dazzled:) right now, I wouldn't include it.

Maybe if I don't hear the song for a couple of years I'll like it again.

Edit: Most of all, I want them to change their set list more often. I would kill to hear basically any song they haven't played for a few years. And add more songs.

Violet Hill

God Put A Smile Upon Your Face

Lost! or Politik
