Just bring back Politik, please.

Depending how many songs are on LP7 will depend on how many make it to the set-list.

With such a good songbook, it will be that some classics will be dropped, unless they extend the set-list time to 1h 45, even 2 hours.

My problem with the setlist for GS tour, is that it was like they wanted to go for the lower key sound of the album, but also keep the vibe of MX tour in it. At times it sounded great, other times it didn't. Now for this tour, i hope they drop the GS and keep the MX. I get the fact the MX was practically made for big live shows, give them a break. If they had dropped them for the GS tour, then they could bring them back for this tour and they would sound fresh. ROBTTH has a ton of more fitting songs for the era GS in, like Daylight, Amsterdam, The Scientist... Even X&Y and Parachutes had a ton of fitting songs.

What im ranting about is that Coldplay should concentrate on something else, how about some X&Y stuff? Twisted Logic? Hmmm xD

Personally, I hope they make the shows at least 1 hour 45 minutes, if not 2 hours. Additionally, I really hope they finally give Fix You it's well earned rest.

It will prob start and end with the LP7 start and end song just like every other tour. The rest will be 75% LP7 material and 25% hits from LP1-6 and maybe 1 or 2 fan favs that weren't singles (warning sign, politik, sparks, etc).

And I hate to put a damper on the fun, but its impossible to know when/where the LP7 songs fit in relation to the other songs without knowing what they sound like. I don't think that'll stop anyone from trying though, haa

Whaddya think?

Some of the Ghost Stories shows were finished off with Fix You. :)

Yes, and some ended with ASFoS. Like I said, it will probably be the case 'cause its happened before.

Rush of blood started with Politik, ended with Amsterdam, X&Y started with Square One, VLV started with LiT, MX started with MX/HLH, GS started with Always in My Head.

Again, if we're playing the odds, I would bet it starts with the LP7 album starter and end with the album ender.

The opener's have always been up with my favourites in each album :)

Yeah, and each one sets the tone SO well for each album/concert/era. Only makes sense to start the concert that way.

Only hope they don't fall short with LP7..

Nah, I wouldn't worry too much about it tbh. They've proven themselves well capable of making at least a handful of great songs per album and putting on a great live show every era.

Does anyone else think In My Place would make a really good opener to a show - the crash of the drums would set it up nicely

I've adjusted my set, provided they do the sensible thing and make at least some of the LP7 shows 2 hours long, this would be my dream setlist.

Oh and yellow as well lol

Where's Fix You men? It's like a hymn for coldplayers. And the idea of putting it next to ASFOS is epic.

  • 1 month later...

I think it's safe to say these 12 will be staples next tour:

Yellow,

In My Place, The Scientist, Clocks

Fix You,

Viva La Vida,

Paradise, Charlie Brown, Teardrop,

Magic, ASFOS, Midnight/True Love

Politik NEEDS to come back! I mean...it's only the best song they've ever written right?!

Here is my thinking in regards to songs to be played

Shiver

Yellow

Politik

In My Place

The Scientist

Clocks

AROBTTH

Amsterdam

Fix You

Lost

VLV

Violet Hill

Paradise

ETIAW

ASFOS

Magic

True Love

God Put a Smile on Your Face

Charlie Brown

throw in 3 songs from new CD7

Its a perfect collection of old and new hits and favourites to please everyone. You could add Spies to this as well, esp since Chris played it at the solo NY show ( The Box )
