The Offical "The Killers" Thread

Featured Replies

Yes they played their entire set at the festival, they were the headliners. I'm qute sure they're gonna play the entire set at V too, they're not playing any other concert in Australia apart from festivals and it would be sad if they only played the short one.

I'm practising with them cause I need to meet U2, they're quite difficult to meet, especially before or after gigs :disappointed:

But The Killers are quite easy to meet, if you read their official board you will realize nearly anyone waiting for them after their concerts got to meet them. Are you planning to see them? If yes then go on the back of the venue and wait, they may take 1-2 hours to come out, but unless they're tired or for other strange reasons they will stop and take pics with fans, they usually never do runners after the shows

whooooooop sounds like a good plan! I'll stay behind to get the opportunity to meet them!!!

Nice of them to take time out to meet fans :nice:

Just this past week I bought and have been absolutely obsessed with 'Day & Age'. To say the least, I'm really impressed! Especially by Human, Spaceman, Dustland Fairytale, This is your life, I can't stay, and the epic Goodnight, travel well.

I also think Flowers gets WAY too much flak for his lyrics. If anything what's he's expressing is too deep for some people to figure out. So many people don't realize that 'dancer' is a play on the usage of the word 'human', and that at a closer look, the lyrics are everything but nonsense. There are so many serious themes in the songs disguised behind catchy pop, arrangements. Human, to me, seems deals with devotion, faith and the vital things that keep us human. Spaceman is about optimism/pessimism following attempted suicide, dustland fairytale is his parent's life story, 'This is your life' isabout prostitution, I can't stay is about an affair, and goodnight is about his own struggle and acceptance of his mother's cancer and the inevitability of death.

And Neon Tiger is about a Vegas showgirl according to my gf.

I've been thinking about that song actually, and I'm pretty sure your gf is exactly right.

Funny you say that, because I just met all of U2 yesterday. They were at the Capital Records building in Los Angeles doing their 3 cities promotion.

But yeah, the Killers are great about meeting their fans. I have met them almost everytime I have tried. It's amazing considering their relative success.

If I lived in the US and especially in NY or LA I would have met them plenty of times now..but I live in a forgotten country where nor them neither other bands like Coldplay and The Killers do any kind of promotion, so the only chance for me to meet them is trying before and after gigs, and this is almost impossible with U2 since they're playing big stadiums :disappointed:

anyway..less than one week to the gig :D

True for me too.

And I have to TRAVEL to see the Killers because we're not significant enough

Living in Los Angeles definitely improves my level of access, but simply having access doesn't mean the artist is accessible. The two easiest people to meet in U2, oddly enough, are Bono and the Edge, and they do stop their vehicles on the way into stadiums. Of course, it doesn't happen every time, but at least they do it. Adam is way less likely, and Larry will almost never do it. My point: Keep trying...it may happen.

My other point: EVERYONE in the Killers is accessible. They are all fan friendly and meet their fans after most shows (at least every one I have ever been to), which is really great for those of us who enjoy the experience of meeting our favorite artists.

I'm going to see them tomorrow! :)

Have fun! They are one of my favorite live acts.

Thanks! :nice: I've never seen them live before, and I'm really excited to finally see them. Maybe I'll get a chance to meet them afterwards, but I don't think I'll be able to stay there for hours...

The concert was cancelled due to bomb threats... I was standing in front of the row, would have got first row insde. Dammit! :(

It is postponed to May 29th.

oh i heard of that! i'm sorry at least they didn't cancel it forever!

I don't get the lyrics to their song Human "Are we human or are we dancers?". Are they trying to say that people that are dancing are aliens or vampires? What about people on Dancing With The Stars, are they not human?

:dozey:

it's "dancer", a play on words.

Brandon Flowers: "It's taken from a quote by [author Hunter S.] Thompson. ... 'We're raising a generation of dancers,' and I took it and ran."

I'll leave you to ponder the rest.

Oh my, what happened!?

So, my mom asked me today what the plan is as to how my friend and I are getting to San Jose and back for the concert. I told her I thought she was driving us, since that's what she originally told me, and she was like: "what?! No, I drove you guys to your Coldplay concert last year, and I refuse to drive for this one too! I'm going to sell the tickets unless you can get a ride from your dad or from your friend's parents". The only problem with that, though, is the fact that both my dad and my friend's parents work early in the morning during the week, and our concert is on a Sunday night about two hours away, round trip. On the other hand, my mom doesn't work at all and usually sleeps late in the mornings. Anyway, I told my mom that my dad and my friends parents both have work in the morning and don't want to be driving two girls around past midnight on a Sunday night, and my mom told me too bad, that she was selling the tickets. So unless I can figure out another way to get there, I might not be going to my concert after all. Aghhhhhhhhhhhhh. :bigcry:

/rant.

I checked, there are no buses that run from where I live to where the concert is past midnight. :disappointed:

it sucks :(

maybe you should negociate with your mom, have a deal with her, maybe doing some home stuff or something like that
