I've already tried, she's being really uptight about it for some reason and won't change her mind under any circumstances. *sigh* :(

that sucks :bigcry:

So, my mom asked me today what the plan is as to how my friend and I are getting to San Jose and back for the concert. I told her I thought she was driving us, since that's what she originally told me, and she was like: "what?! No, I drove you guys to your Coldplay concert last year, and I refuse to drive for this one too! I'm going to sell the tickets unless you can get a ride from your dad or from your friend's parents". The only problem with that, though, is the fact that both my dad and my friend's parents work early in the morning during the week, and our concert is on a Sunday night about two hours away, round trip. On the other hand, my mom doesn't work at all and usually sleeps late in the mornings. Anyway, I told my mom that my dad and my friends parents both have work in the morning and don't want to be driving two girls around past midnight on a Sunday night, and my mom told me too bad, that she was selling the tickets. So unless I can figure out another way to get there, I might not be going to my concert after all. Aghhhhhhhhhhhhh. :bigcry:

/rant.

I know how you feel.

:bigcry:

:disappointed: I was coming to talk about the two gigs I've been to, but I don't really think it's the case seeing the last posts.

Awww it's ok, we'd still love to hear how they were :nice:

Haha, don't worry- go ahead! I'd still love to hear about how amazing the Killers are, even if I may have to abandon my front row seats.

do it! it's always great to read some reviews :D

Oh my, what happened!?

Nothing  Someone called that there was a bomb in a nearby store, but it was probably a prank call.

I read they actually arrested someone tough

Anyway, I'm really sorry for all of you who can't, for many reasons, go to see them, because the show they put on is really worth it.

I went to see them in Milan (finally in my country, after five gigs abroad and after two and half years from their last concert here) and Barcelona.

Now both shows were absolutely mindblowing, italian and spanish people are really alike as regards the crazyness and the passion, everyone was jumping as singing every song. But the Italian gig was too special for me and my friends, since last year it seemed no one cared about them in our country. They didn't even have a fansite, while many other unknown bands had it, and this convinced us we needed to create one. It's nearly one year old now :nice:

Anyway, we really pushed to promote them, protested that they reacord label was doing nothing for them and we succeded..first the date in Milan was announced, then the venue was changed because the demand of tickets was too high, the sold out three months before the show (which is something none of us could ever expect) and then the day of the show the Forum (where they played) was packed with people, somone even started queuing at 7 am and by 4 pm this was the situation.

Someone was starting chants with Spaceman oh oh oh's, which remined me of Viva ohhoohhh's

We also tried to go the back and see if we could catch them..we found a very nice security man, he told us what happened with Dave last time they played in Italy (he was left back from the other and some fans took him to the hotel afterwards, so typical of him :laugh3::laugh3:), he also mentioned he was there on one of the first Coldplay's gigs in Italy and how great they've become. He said the band was sleeping in their tour bus, so we waited as we wanted to give Ronnie a present and meet with one people from their crew that we know. I went back to the queue cause I forgot something, then came back and my two friends who remained there told me they had just spoken with Brandon, bad timing on my part I must say, but hey, they were the major Brandon fangirls so I didn't mind, I've met him before :)

Ronnie went straight inside (we didn't see him) but we managed to leave the present to someone...and while we were going back to the queue we saw Dave dragging himself along in the distance, I guess he had just woken up :P

Then a crazy run to the front and we made it on the right side, in between Brandon and Mark

Now this is the same venue Coldplay played in September last year and look what I saw right in front of me :flutterby:

They kept falling also through TK show, and everytime I had a big smile on my face (they even played Rainy Day as background music before show time )

People kept coming on the GA and no one was taking care of this. This resulted in a lot of people fainting and taken away even before the support band (Louis XIV) started playing, not to mention the useless pushing and moshing to get to the front, which is something I really hate, dammit, come earlier if you want the front row

Apart from this the gig was stunning, they started with Human, which was a bit of a risk since at this point it probably is their most known song here and who knows what might have happened after (I feared many people came just for that one song)...but the audience surprised me because everyone sang every song, new, old, and it made me wonder where the heck they had been all this time, as it seemed they had really few fans here

Highlights for me (completed with video, not mine):

(I've never been too conviced by this song, but live and with everyone singing is really great),
(cause I love it + Brandon speaking in Italian + arms waving),
(it's the song I was most looking forward to and it didn't disappoint, the reprise was epic ),
(even tough any other version won't top the War Child Gig one, it still is my favourite),
(the crazyness..this has been a wonderful night for us, has it been for you? ..we may come from Las Vegas but tonight our hearts belong to Milano...awwwwwwwwwww :nice:)

Oh and, I mentioned the present for Ronnie, well he came out for the encore wearing it

ronniec.jpg

After the gig we went again to the artist entrance, met Dave, Mark didn't approach us, entered a van with the guys from Louis XIV and headed to the aftershow (which coughweknewwereitwasatcough), mybe we should have called him but you never know if they like to be called or not, better not risk with him :P

And then Ronnie came out and he was the usual lovely man, signed things (my drumstick) took pics and chatted, while mean Brandon took the chance of us being busy with Ronnie to rush into a van and join the others at the aftershow, that is not the way to act Brandon :whip:

Some pics, I gave up at the fourth song, I couldn't stay still and I wanted to enjoy the gig :laugh3:

And this is for Milan..three days after I left to Barcelona. This time we agreed we would be staying in the stands cause the previous gig had taken a toll on us physically speaking  ...but since we're front row whores we took our seats on the rail, this time on the left side as we had a banner for Dave.

Must say it's great to have your space to move and jump even if you're not in the pit, but we could see the stage perfectly. This time Brandon said something in spanish (apparently he only spoke another language in Italy and Spain, maybe cause they are similar), the crowd went nuts. Seltist was one song shorter than Milan and none of the others changed (I was hoping for Losing Touch, it's the only one I'm missing to hear live from the new album, apart from Goodnight, Travel Well, but it has never been played).

No pics cause I still need to sort them out :P

Again we went on the back to catch them coming out, this time there were many people waiting. One of their tour assistant came telling us Brandon was sorry but couldn't come since he had a sore throat and the doctor suggested him to avoid temperature changes and to talk, he just waved to us from afar, the other three came out and were really on a high, Ronnie recognised us, and we gave Dave his birthday card and present (one week early but we couldn't go to Australia where they are now) and he really loved it, we have a

of it :P

And if you manage to read till here I applaud you :D

..now roll on June and July for their next two gigs here: Verona (where I saw my first Coldplay gig) and Rome

Oh and I was forgetting...the Milan gig has been video recorded and will be broadcasted on a music channel here :D

ROnnie is so sweet :wacky:

Awesome review, glad you had a good time :nice:

And OMG Rainy Day :D

Great review iriden! :D Mille grazie!

The Killers added a Hamburg show for May 31st, but I can't make it, because I have to save money. Tickets are so damn expensive these days... :/

^ hmm, interesting. You can't say their not good musicians, it just seems that it is a tad too sophisticated for a Killers song.

great review Denise :D

and the butterfly just makes it extra super double special :D

AMAZING review! :bomb: And that butterfly bit is perfect. :wacky:

The only bad thing is... well, now I'm even more jealous :P :P :P

Damnit you guys, you're supposed to tell me they suck live, to make me feel better about missing my concert! :p

I'm missing mine too... I was going to watch them this Sunday

I just received my 7 in Spaceman vinyl in the mail today though *sniff*

I've got a long list of bands I want to see in concert, and The Killers are fairly high up, so mark my words, I'll see them someday. ;)

KROQ has started playing "This is Your Life" recently. Indfication of next single? They did start playing "Magnificent" by U2 a lot a few weeks before it was officially announced as a single.

How common is a 7 in. vinyl for Human? I don't really collect vinyls, but I saw a few copies at Hot Topic today for only a few bucks. Anybody recommend that I go back and snag one of them?

I have to say Ronnie is looking good lately.

I wish this album got more credit.. I am loving "A Crippling Blow"

Gawd I can't wait to see them again!!! May 8th will be my third Killers show, 18 days before CP at the same venue, booya!!!
