Linkin Park

Recommended Posts

gotta admit i lost interest in this band around 2005 and whatever was left of that interest died after M2M. nevertheless because they were the first band i loved i decided to give this newy a chance. and its actually not as pathetic as some people are saying it is. theyve come up with some interesting concepts and sounds throughout the record.

i might be going to see them in december. the tickets prices are ludicrously over the top. so i think im going to settle for cheap tickets.

seeing them in a couple of weeks. and ive been looking at the sets theyve been playing and although they've maintained a decent quota of "old" songs there are long segments of the show where they play 4 or 5 new songs back to back. might go for a toilet break then :P

Dnt know if should buy the album now:confused: I miss their old stuff. I used to be crazy about them during hybrid theory and meteora, i liked them as much as coldplay. then after minuted to midnight it went downhill. I am finally admitting it now that I dnt like them as much anymore. I still consider myself a fan though since I love their old stuff, wish they did something like hybrid theory again :/

Oh but I really like waiting for the end a lot! :P

after hearing the epic shitness of Thousand Suns i actually quite like most of Minutes to Midnight.

im seeing them for the first (and possibly last) time on saturday. ive been looking at the setlist they do and i like about 12-13 songs from it, so im sure it wont be all bad. but i really wish i had caught them in their early days.

I have to totally agree with you, Linkin Parks old days I love almost all their songs and I love them all like Coldplay's but MTM made me so dissapointed that only like 5 songs were good and now ive heard The Catalyst which was electro and poppy wtf! this made me decide I will not buy this and I will ignore LP for this..

but when I heard 'Waiting for the end' I downloaded it immediately and its the only song I like so far from the album and am not changing my mind stilll on not buying it, I would prefer 'Waiting for the end' only as of now

Yea I can listen to hybrid theory from start to finish, except for the mr.hahn(or however u spell it) track. Haha to think I used to know all their names, and now I only really know mike shinoda and chester benington:P

I just don't see why they got stuck into this electric weird stuff. The reason they were good was because of that good balance of mike's rap stuff and chester's screams and vocals, and with a touch of mr.hanh . but nooo, they messed it up.

I guess they wanna go in a more mellow direction but they don't know how to really do that :\

i think it has more to do with the violent death of nu-metal music. that brand of music is still loved by some people but deeply hated by most of the music community. linkin park were one of the very very few decent bands to come out of that era so theyre trying to disassociate themselves with that genre as much as possible.

but instead of trying to continue to make heavy edgy music, maybe something like early day muse, they decided to try their hand at bland pop rock with an electro touch. what theyve ended up creating is a band with no sense of identity or direction and that is a great shame for the band that wrote Hybrid Theory.

well obviously most of the fans will not appreciate their new kind of musical direction, since they've grown up listening to the band's old material. It's actually OK for them to try new stuff, and you don't have to hear each track in the album to appreciate it. But the truth is their new stuff lacks an appeal, and listening to the album in a sequential way is like trying to force yourself to comprehend their new work. I just hope that one day they could pull it off.

and btw Brad is so much cuter now kthanx.

Yea you are right it is good they are trying new things, but they just haven't really found their style yet. And chester was so good at the screaming stuff that this slow stuff makes me feel that he is not doing his full potential, though I do like his singing. Oh I hope they get better, cuz I want to like them again :(

Brad? Hmm yea I he is better looking now. I think mike was better looking before:P like in the video for papercut.

I used to have a PE teacher that looked just like him and he sounded like him. Supposedly he was his cousin but I bet he was joking:P...or was he?

I always liked bands associate with nu metal. I always thought it was an exciting genre of music. A lot of it is garbage, but that's true of any genre. Hybrid Theory is an absolute classic. Everytime I listen to it, I go back in time. Just getting the songs from that album is worth the price of admission.

On a side note, I can't stand Mike Shinoda. He always strikes me as such a poser. He always has dumb lines during the concert talking about old school linkin park fans and such. Just do your rap and play your instrument you clown.
