  1. A lot of bands seem to want come back here or play here for the first time. But this isn't really the main reason that actually brings a band to Latin America or prevent them from coming. It depends on a myriad of factors, like their own management decisions and the offers from local promoters, concerts that have already been booked. Besides, an act the size of Coldplay require a lot of effort to move their equipment and crew. They must be certain that they'll be able to make some profit here, otherwise, they can't spend the money and time to deslocate their equipment and working force. Let's wait a bit more. Maybe, they'll come at the end of the tour, just like the two previous ones. If I'm not mistaken, their previous concerts here in Brazil were sold out or were close to. And Coldplay were one of the favourite acts in Rock in Rio, so there is plenty of reasons for them to come back to Latin America. Hopefully, when they do come, more countries will be added to our leg of the tour :nice:
  2. Oh, that's right :disappointed: Fingers crossed then :)
  3. Maybe you could create another thread at another subsection of general discussion? Or ask the mods to move the thread for a little while and then move it back? I wish I could help, but I'm not from NYC :(
  4. I haven't seen this here (sorry if it was already posted), but Viva La Vida is to feature on a playlist for the opening ceremony: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2160420/Olympics-opening-ceremony--The-Queen-hear-Sex-Pistols.html Viva La Vida is near Amy's left elbow:
  5. That one is very good as well! The colours are great!
  6. Is it? :embarrassed: I thought it was just a synonym.
  7. I can relate to taking seriously things that are meant as jokes, but I wouldn't go as far as I deem them 'obvious'. It's not because one has some particular sense of humour that everybody else will too. Yeah, it is funny or awkward when someone doesn't understand some joke and/or situantion, but there is a big difference between being funny and being scornful.
  8. If I understood correctly what you said, I agree that the feature is neither inherently good nor inherently bad. You can only assess it once people click on it: the button has potentially many functions, it's up to us to use it to show appreciation, agreement, make a jape of it etc. Thanks for explaining what a reputation system is!
  9. That's truly very good! I don't know if know it, but you can upload your pictures here http://tinypic.com/ (there are other options) instead of posting just the link to it :)
  10. I used it as an instance of other efforts to create a Coldplay database here, whether or not it's copying and pasting a link. I think it's valid to show you appreciation for people who cared to go looking for pictures of concerts, reviews, news etc, which is one of the purposes of the thanks button.
  11. When I first heard the word 'lounger', I sincerely thought it was a neutral term, just like 'Coldplayer'. Since it came to my knowledge that you can take offense by it, I stopped using it.
  12. ^I do agree that the use of the thanks button can be over the top, but I think people may thank something as simple as a photo of Chris (indeed, a photo identical to one hundred others) because people appreciate the effort of taking the time to build a Coldplay database here. Yes and because "omg, Chris is so hot", but I think the other option is still valid. What is a reputation system?'
  13. I bit off-topic, but, that picture is great :) I I tried to do the same with my dog, she would chew up the shades before I even managed to grab the camera.
  14. I was saving it for later too because I have finals now, but I'm too weak to not read it. Glad to see you like the series too :D
  15. [boringperson]I understand what this thread is about, but just my thoughts... I'd rather see someone I respect wearing half a hundred times the same clothes (they are in a decent state) than him squandering on clothes. No offense intended at anyone, I'm just expressing my views on the issue.[/boringperson]
  16. It makes no matter. Either way, the thread's got lost photos of Arlene already. :D
  17. Is this Arlene? The woman in the photo looks like Jo Whiley.
  18. Thanks CurtisJ and S@m for the videos! I found it overall quite good. The instrumental part is great, a lot better than the layer after layer of sound in the original song, imo (it isn't really bad, it's just not my cup of tea). My only complaint is that Kelly's voice sometimes sounds a bit like moaning, which I find a bit annoying, but, overall, it's quite a fine cover.
  19. The second one does look nice.
  20. Looks like it's going to be Muse and Game of Thrones soundtrack for tonight :wacky:
  21. Try this: Suppose you want to use that url: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38Oh02l5rYE and call it 'Trouble - acoustic' First, select 'Trouble - acoustic' and wrap it in tags used for colours, for example 'red'. [ COLOR="Red"]Trouble - acoustic[/color ][/code] Only then select the whole thing above (from the first [i][color][/i] tag till the last one) and insert the link you want. [code][u RL="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38Oh02l5rYE"][color ="Red"]Trouble - acoustic[/color][/url] I'm not sure if that was question. If it was, I hope it was understandable. edit: If you do it the other way around (first insert link and change colour only afterwards, I think it won't work.
  22. Just read about Muse new album :bomb:
