Would we ever have a era like the 80s or 90s again in music ? I don't think so

Does anyone else like them? I really do. People say they're like Fall out boy, which I find untrue because I hate FOB. Anyways, I was just wondering if I'm the only one who likes them

Well to me it's Muse cause they have different styles of music which i think is better than just sticking to one thing which i think coldplay does but there good at it.

I know alot of people view Teletext on the TV as ancient technology but I'm one of those people who still use it regularly and I'm gutted that Planet Sound will be getting the axe along with other services. I just hope the Manics can get their next album out in time for John Earls to give them a final review! Sob!

I am addicted to Brownsville Girl by Bob Dylan! Who else has heard it recently? I've generally not liked his stuff from the 80s onwards but I've been getting into it a bit more recently and this song is just amazing, 11 minutes long and just great!

I'm surprised and a little disappointed that there is not a Tom McRae thread on this board :o :cry: so here is one :P If you haven't checked him out, do it NOW.... he is amazing :D His debut album (Tom McRae - original title ;) ) is fantastic. My favourite songs are Boy with the Bubblegun, Bloodless and Language of Fools. The new album (Just Like Blood) for me is quite frankly orgasmic :o :P I LOVE every single song on it but my faves are You Only Disappear, Walking to Hawaii and Line of Fire.... please at least download some of his songs NOW, he deserves more credit than he gets... Ok, plug over :D

Ok Here are a few of the bigger bands around today. Who has the best musical ability? I am going to leave this to be fairly broad but the way I interpret ability is a mix of these things: "Instrumental Skills" - The ability to play their instruments exceptionally well. "Songriting Skills" - The ability to write great music. By great, i mean complex, interesting music that is still easy to listen to. A mixture of these constitutes great writing IMO. "Lyrics" - The lyrics must be good and meaningful, in the context of the style of music. "Live Performance" - The live ability of the band - how good are their live shows. Anyone here also enjoy a healthy dose of metal between their Coldplay sessions? Not talking about nu-metal type stuff like Korn, etc...but full-on, rippin' metal. Bands like Opeth, At the Gates, and Slayer. Surely there are some metal fans lurking about. People who get the best of both worlds.

.... and why? Mine would have to be Billy Jean. I just loved the beat. The moment I heard it, even at the ripe young age of 6 (or so.. ) :) I was in love with that beat. Its such a great tune as well... lyrically as well. Video was so different for the time too... ok anyone else want to share? I know there are tons of MJ fans out there!! :sneaky:

I saw them live the other day and they performed incredibly, especially because the the crowd was huge considering the venue. their songs are great and so are their concerts
