yeah, another season, another thread. although i know that i'm the only one who's literally obsessed with formula one, but there's some people slightly interested in it, too, right? so. who do you think's gonna win this year's championship? my bet's on kimi räikkönen once again. i thought he was gonna make it last year and see! i just knew it! :) just never give up hoping. and both ferraris as probably a bit stronger than the mclarens. especially because lewis hamilton is the team's number one now (after only one season!) and kovalainen is probably just keeping someone else's seat warm. i don't think alonso will be too competitive. renault's not fast …

  5. By Shaun Walker in Moscow Sunday, 27 April 2008 They lobbied hard to win the prestige of hosting a Champions League final in Moscow, but now the Russian authorities are wondering if they have scored a spectacular own goal. The problem is that there is a good chance of two English teams contesting the match for the first time – which would mean the nightmare of at least 45,000 visas to process in a short space of time. The Russian embassy in London usually issues 60,000 in a year. But it will face a tsunami of applications if Manchester United beat Barcelona on Tuesday night to earn a place in the final on 21 May. Either Liverpool or Chelsea will be their opp…

I just wanted to share this with you guys, seeing as it is something I look forward to every week. Anyway, this guy reviews one video game every week, and posts his reviews every wednesday. The special thing about it is the way he presents his thoughts, and I won't even begin to explain what it is like. I'll just recommend you all to go check it out, I'm sure you will have a laugh. If you see a game you have played yourself, then check that out first, but games you have never even heard of are fun to watch as well. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/zeropunctuation

Well I know I've been talking to some coldplayers on MSN about this tournament already, so there should be enough interest for a thread. This is the first year the tourny is being held outside of Europe...and it just happens to be in my city (Halifax) along with Quebec City. All I can say is Go Canada Go! http://www.hockeycanada.ca/index.cfm/ci_id/21256/la_id/1.htm

A powerful earthquake has killed at least 8,500 people in China's south-western Sichuan province, up to 5,000 of them in just one county. Many more are feared killed and injured in other parts of the country after the 7.8-magnitude quake struck at 1428 local time (0628 GMT). At least 50 bodies have been recovered from the rubble of a school where an estimated 900 students were buried. President Hu Jintao has urged "all-out" efforts to rescue victims. The epicentre of the earthquake was about 92km (57 miles) from Chengdu, Sichuan's provincial capital. Because the earthquake struck in the middle of the day, it is feared that many schoolchildren may be am…

The pair, believed to be at Doherty's Wiltshire home, put the video, called Winemouse, on YouTube on Friday. In the two-minute clip, Winehouse says the pair have 30 one-day old mice. One fan, called Katarinaport, wrote on YouTube: "Amy is on another planet. And this planet is called the planet of horrifying sadness." The video shows Doherty and Winehouse bathed in blue light in a bare room, making rambling comments, picking up the mice and talking to them. Another fan, called …

Some record labels want persistent pirates thrown off the net European politicians have voted down calls to throw suspected file-sharers off the net. The idea to cut off persistent pirates formed part of a wide-ranging report on creative industries written for the European parliament. But in a narrow vote MEPs backed an amendment to the report which said net bans conflicted with "civil liberties and human rights". It puts MEPS at odds with governments planning tough action against pirates. Anyone heard of this one? It's a game that came out recently, very unique and different from anything else. The thing is, you load any song that you have in the game, and it will generate a track according to the rythm of the song. The goal is to collect colored bricks and make a 'cluster' made out of 3 bricks of the same color. But there are other modes, such as Mono, where you evade gray bricks and collect colored ones. It is so great because not only that the road bumps according to the rythm and it goes faster with faster songs, but also the bricks come in key song parts, so it all looks extremely accurate with the song. What is even more amazing, there …

The book is called “A Wished-For Song”, was written by Jeff’s photographer Merri Cyr and includes lots of pictures never seen before, as well as interviews with people who had had the luck of knowing Jeff personally.
