November 15, 201114 yr Finished Catcher In The Rye and can safely say I hate Holden Caulfield. Gonna look around for this novel called We, the Drowned next.
November 22, 201114 yr ^ Did you enjoy the novel itself though? I love Catcher in the Rye <3 I'm reading One Day by David Nicholls right now. I haven't seen the movie yet, I wanted to read the book first!
November 22, 201114 yr I did. Fairly easy to read and interesting enough to keep me reading which is exactly what I needed.
December 1, 201114 yr Just finished One Day. It was really good. :) I'm not sure what I will read next...it's exam time so I'm basically just reading textbooks.
December 5, 201114 yr The Road by Cormac McCarthy. It is fantastic. Agree! Read it a while ago and thought it was pretty fascinating and so so scary! Currently I am reading "Master and Margarita" by Bulgakov. Nearly finished but want it to last forever!
December 5, 201114 yr Martian Chronicles :awesome: Did you decide to copy what I was reading, Madison? :P
December 6, 201114 yr Der Steppenwolf ( Chinese version) I have read it for months, and haven't finished reading it :dozey:
December 10, 201114 yr Thinking of embarking on Hemmingway. Any suggestions? The Sun Also Rises or The Old Man & The Sea are probably the easiest to start with. For Whom The Bell Tolls is probably his best, but it's quite daunting due to its length. His short stories also have some of his best writing - try The Snows Of Kilimanjario or Men Without Women. As for me, I'm going to put Moby Dick down for a while and look for something lighter to read.
