May 30, 200917 yr I went to the two small club shows they did in NYC like 2 weeks ago, they are a really good live band and seem like nice people. Got a drumstick too. Billie Joe does have a tiny bit of a Jesus complex on stage like that guy from Creed(the band sucks), by this I mean he hangs in a cruxification like form a couple of times during the show. The fans were a varied mix of people, some obnoxious stupid people who has no disregard for the well-being of people around them. I met a lot of normal people too though.
May 30, 200917 yr Does anyone else here find it ironic when you go to a GD live show, morons are singing along with "American Idiot" but they don't know they are the same people this song references to? 1. Not every american is an idiot. 2. It's just a song, a great song, who wouldn't sing along? if they wrote "Fuck the mexicans" I would sing it :laugh3:
May 30, 200917 yr I remember Brandon Flowers got pretty upset watching their bullet in a bible dvd where brits were singing along to "american idiot". quote: "I just thought it was really cheap. To go to a place like England or Germany and sing that song—those kids aren't taking it the same way that he meant it."
May 30, 200917 yr 1. Not every american is an idiot. 2. It's just a song, a great song, who wouldn't sing along? if they wrote "Fuck the mexicans" I would sing it :laugh3: I didn't say that every American was an idiot. It was just clear some of the audience could be the same American Idiot they refer to. But yes, it is a great song to singalong to. Brandon Flowers is a b1tch on his own sometimes too, though I can relate to what he said.
May 31, 200917 yr I didn't say that every American was an idiot. It was just clear some of the audience could be the same American Idiot they refer to. These people you said, you think, who will admit that they are an "American idiot"? :laugh3: People always have too big self-egos to accept the truth like they're "American idiots". Just kiddin' anyway :P.
June 1, 200917 yr The Bullet In The Bible dvd is pretty awesome. Punk-rock is not my genre, but Green Day is a cult.
July 21, 200916 yr Green Day thread is already here You need to read the Band Index before deciding to make a topic for a band, it's stickied at the top of this board... nobody likes a duplicate thread.
July 21, 200916 yr here[/url] You need to read the Band Index before deciding to make a topic for a band, it's stickied at the top of this board... nobody likes a duplicate thread. good advice, you can also use the search option, which is up, between new posts and quick links. ^ I like a duplicate thread. me too, funny thing is that cobalt has redirected it to the old thread, and i had reported the thread asking it to be merged, but seems nobody got the merge requirement message yet.
July 21, 200916 yr You like the Mets +1 You like Green Day -1 You like Coldplay +1 You're still on the plus side but not by much.

July 26, 200916 yr Anyone here going to a Green Day show or has gone to a show on this tour? Been following the setlist and it keeps getting better each night. They've been playing some of the oldies! :D
July 26, 200916 yr ^ I'm glad they're starting to play F.O.D again, but I wish they would start playing Redundant again, as that's one of my favorites :D
July 27, 200916 yr ^ I'm glad they're starting to play F.O.D again, but I wish they would start playing Redundant again, as that's one of my favorites :D Wouldn't mind hearing that live. I hope they keep playing stuff from 1,039/Smooth ... and Kerplunk! by the time they get to Australia!
July 27, 200916 yr Going to see them in December with a friend, I think we might be near the back tho
July 27, 200916 yr I lost interest in the band, but my friend recently let me borrow their new album and I actually like it. I don't know if I want to pay to see them, though. But I kind of want to see Franz Ferdinand. I don't think I'm going to see them but if I do, it'll probably be cheap seats in the back.
July 29, 200916 yr Did anybody go to last night's concert at MSG? I was, I was in the PIT. Surprising number of kids in the audience, not that I'm a geezer myself at 27. Here is an example of how kiddie the 3 teenage girls next to me were: some girl went slightly nuts and threw beer from here open cup everywhere, the 3 teenagers proceed to say "she spilled beer on me" like it doesn't usually happen. I only really got into it during the 2nd half, I'm not a huge fan. I think they played a lot of oldies and the show was nearly 3 hrs long(very nice). They said they played Jesus of Suburbia for the 1st time last night on this tour. They ended with Billie Joe doing two songs acoustically. I went to the two club shows in NYC earlier this year and I thought those were more fun but the crowd at MSG is a lot more diverse. Not that they are bad, but a lot of the songs sound the same. I also can't help feeling ironic & cringey when they sing songs about rebellion like American Idiot & Know Your Enemy & Mass Hysteria b/c of their corporate partnerships and their fans.
