I hadn't seen the thead + I've just noticed the last post was old on that thread.

And U2 are one of the few bands where searching for a thread is impossible due to the forum's requirement of 3 characters to do a search

What's this I have heard about deluxe editions being made of their first 3 albums?

The usual U2 cash grab...which obviously many people will buy.

I will be buying all three deluxe editions I'm sure....and only for the b-sides and rarities. I think there will be new booklets as well which would be nice.

War is one of my favourite U2 albums. I just wish they had A Celebration on the War deluxe edition.

New Year's Day came on Q this morning. I love that song - Edge's CP70 riff, and that bass line, are amazing.

I trust someone nice will upload all 3 deluxe editions

In exchange for some early elton john

Hmm may be a good opportunity to buy Boy and October (i never bothered because i've got so many U2 albums)

War - Pretty good, possibly a fav.

The Unforgettable fire - = to war, some songs are forgettable.

The Joshua Tree - A great album, the second side (the tribute to America) is brilliant.

Rattle and Hum - my dad recommended this one, my guess is he doesn't know the name of the albums, its a mess and the songs are weak all around.

Achtung baby - Strong set of songs here, except for one. But I find I skip individual tracks when they come on, nothing here really grabs me maybe because the theme of divorce is exausting and its Bono singing about someone elses divorce that annoys me.

Zoopera - Not bad, didn't like it for a long time, some songs have grown on me tho (most of the album)

All you can't leave behind - Weak middle and everything else is superb, propably a favorate if the middle is missed out 'when you look at the world' is a personal fav.

Atomic bomb - Erm, bit redundant, lots to like here but were they even trying? except of course for 'sometimes you can't make it'

Overall a great band, but not a fav.

^ the album name is Zooropa not Zoopera :P

I guess I'm going to buy only October, it has the best bonus disc out of the three

:rolleyes::laugh3::laugh3::laugh3:

Zoopera! I'm lovin' it!! Well, maybe now that U2's style has matured a bit..;)

My favorite song is mysterious ways, sweetest thing and elevation. Heh, I cant decide for only one song. And now, we can only wait for new tour dates :)

Are there any concerts foreseen ?

Well the latest rumors are new album in October if everything stays on schedule (which it rarely does). So if thats the case next spring would probably be their next tour I'm guessing.

At least they haven't pre-booked tour dates :P

I think they have learned that from the Popmart tour, rushing to finish the album before the tour

....and hopefully they learn a thing or two about fan pre-sales from Tuesday Bloody Tuesday circa the Vertigo Tour...what a freakin headache that was.
