Arcade Fire

According to Arcade Fire logic, Joan of Arc will probably be one of your favourites.

Yep. I discovered them thanks to Chris mentioning them in X&Y era interviews as an influence (or notably in Toronto 2006 "God gave you style and led you higher/God gave you the music of the Arcade

Yeah I got into Coldplay first and then slowly started getting into Arcade Fire. Once I started to realize their similarities and that Coldplay toured with them during the LVL era, it made me become a

Yeah, I followed a path similar to yours. I am a big fan of VLV and MX (the "midplay" era, ahah) and when I discovered that Coldplay mentioned several times AF as an influence during that period, I st

I'm gonna stop watching these. Don't want to spoil anything more.

i really want to be excited about this but i've hated all of the new songs i've heard :(

:shocked2:

If this album should be a flop, I'll be doubly disappointed for all the hype it is receiving.

Looking forward to hearing the official versions of Joan of Arc and Supersymmetry, Loved the live performances.

 I kinda get you, I didn't like a lot of the new songs. Just give it time I guess, they grew on me, all of them. For instance, I did not care for Afterlife on SNL but ever since the teasers and the full single today, I can't get it out of my head. :bomb:

Also I LOVE

and We Exist, but I like all the songs really, especially the big picture, the whole direction they went with this album. Dancey tropical Greek mythology underworld calypso reggae disco existential crisis party.

At the moment I'd rate them:

  1. Reflektor
  2. Afterlife
  3. It's Never Over (Oh Orpheus)
  4. We Exist
  5. Normal Person
  6. Here Comes The Night Time
  7. Flashbulb Eyes
  8. Supersymmetry
  9. Joan Of Arc

PS No one posted The Colbert Report episode.

This summer I got really into bands like The Clash and Talking Heads, and this new AF stuff is like a combination of both, so I'm really liking all of it so far.

Also, I don't trust these first-listen reviews. Heck, I hated some of my now-favourite albums on the first listen. Kid A is an example. It was a new direction for Radiohead, and at first it was polarising, just as this album seems to be. I just can't wait to hear the whole thing myself.

They are already selling the album in Ireland and it hasn't leaked. I can't believe it.

Oh yeah. Damn. Tomorrow perhaps. :wideeyed:

Ugh I'm a sucker for production, can't wait to hear all the touches and the layers and stuff on the studio versions and the album in its entirety of course. The whole is bound to be greater than the sum of its parts.

They already stopped the shops from selling it. They really don't want it to leak haha!
