Yep. I discovered them thanks to Chris mentioning them in X&Y era interviews as an influence (or notably in Toronto 2006 "God gave you style and led you higher/God gave you the music of the Arcade

Yeah I got into Coldplay first and then slowly started getting into Arcade Fire. Once I started to realize their similarities and that Coldplay toured with them during the LVL era, it made me become a

Yeah, I followed a path similar to yours. I am a big fan of VLV and MX (the "midplay" era, ahah) and when I discovered that Coldplay mentioned several times AF as an influence during that period, I st

I'm curious to see Pitchfork's review.

Every one of them was my favorite at some point.

Reflektor Booklet (click on the title to download)

It contains 52 pages of pictures, lyrics and info on the album.

I would rate them

1. The Suburbs

2. Funeral

3. Reflektor

4. Neon Bible

Can you please elaborate? I'm interested in what you have to say about it.

Only listened to it once so far, but the new sound's got me. I'll join in on posting thoughts when I buy it. Joan of Arc and We Exist are the standouts after first listen. And Reflektor of course.

awful sound and supersymmetry are my favorite

i like all songs except flashbulb eyes. its one of the worst af songs.

Just listened to the new album for the first time. The only things I haven't liked are the Hidden Track and maybe the last 5 minutes of Supersymmetry, these things just don't make sense. The song that I liked the most maybe is It's Never Over.

why the supersymmetry hate

it's the best song off reflektor

I like it a lot, too. It's just, the last 6 minutes are really pointless. Truly. You can't look at it from any perspective and justify why it's there.

It's there because arcade fire is giving the finger to what people thing music "should be" and how a produced album should sound. That's what the SNL thing was about and that's what the whole "normal person" intro and outro are about, the hidden track, supersymmetrey, all of it. ... And that is what makes Reflektor amazing.

OK. That's a nice effort but it still doesn't justify why they put 6 minutes of essentially nothing at the end of the album.

They liked the way it sounds.

Also the hidden track 00 is actually a part of Reflektor on physical releases so you gotta skip the first 10 minutes if you don't want to listen to it. That's a bit overindulgent.

if this has any truth to it then i am definitely not going to listen to the album

No, it's just a reflektion.

I don't see any of the pretentiousness Jack Bauer is speaking of. Just listen to the album and see for yourself.
