the one thing that sums it up for me, was my reaction to Phil at the War Child gig. When he said he visited the board regularly, my first thought wasn't "awesome, he visits a site that I spend a lot of time & energy on", it was "OMG, I hope he hasn't read threads x,y & z".

EXACTLY the point!!!

I mean, the chances that Phil, Debs or any bandmember are actually likely to visit some certain threads on here are quite low.

Surely they've got better things to do and they probably also know that this is a fan's place and some just need to drool over bandmembers aso.

Which is fine with me, I've done/I am doing that as well. ;)

But it's the way, these things are done!

And honestly speaking, at least for my opinion, things are getting a little bit out of hand, or the way things are written is getting a bit more gross these days.

I am surely not prudish but I just think that some things said and done are quite disrespectful, IMO.

And I am just imagining what would that certain bandmember think of this place and the people posting this stuff if he was reading all these comments ...? :\

Okay, probably not likely to happen but still ...

Food for thought!

Coffeebean1985: You want to talk about their music? Great! Find a bunch of people who share your interest and do so. :) You want to talk about your love for a special bandmember? Wonderful! I am quite sure that there will always be enough people to be found who share your interest in them. :) You want to talk about their concerts, albums or music vidoes? Then do so because again I am quite sure that you will be lucky enough to find someone to do just that. :) You want to talk about your desire to bed some of the guys? Be my guest. Why not? Come one I seriously doubt that this is harmful - maybe a bit annoying for some people (guys and girls who are not interested in such talk) but what the heck? They always have to possibility to leave the thread or leave a stupid reply so other people can get annoyed over it and start a big discussion because of it. And we love to do that don't we? *lol*

I like coldplay and I really don't have the desire to elaborate on the reason to anyone why exactly that is the case. If I like them just for their sweet arses? So what? Sue me or think me as a lesser beeing. I so don't care. As I said before it is very unlikely that I will ever meet a single person from this messenger board in real life so why should I care about their approval or opinion about me? I don't understand why you have to explain to anyone why you like someone or something? It is none of their business. They don't have to pay for my likes or dislikes do they?

Well said coffebean you rock......... I totally agree with you....Its like people what to attack you if you dont type what they want to read or if you have an opinion that is not the same as theirs and then they complain about what should and should not be said about a particular band member because they dont feel the same way and then if you coment about it you are attacked about it and almost forced out of the threads............I am so happy that someone else finally sees things my way all I want to say is

THANK YOU...................... :D

And to the person who start this thread (if he should ever read this which I am sure will be the case) - I can't remember your name and I am too lazy to look for it now, sorry - my opinion about you above is meant to be a little bit insulting because I really don't like your reasoning for this thread or your disrespectful way to deal with the fans in this board. If you don't like it why the hell are you here? Maybe the board is different than some years ago but things change and there are places where you don't have to read about the things you seem to dislike so much. Why do you seek it out at all if you don't like it in the first place? I mean you have to know that you annoy and insult people with that kind of posts. How old are you that you feel good about stuff like that. I don't say that the thread itself is for nothing because you can talk about that stuff but that really, really childish and inmature way you started it is outstanding for itself (not that most of the following posts are much better). No person should starts a thread with an insult within their first two posts. This is laughable seriously. :laugh3:

TOTALLY AGREE

there are good ways to say things and bad ways to do it, it's a public forum... if you see a hot guy in the street you don't scream really loud "OMG you're so hot I want to fuck you", there are some thoughts that shouldn't be said at least in public and it's not about censoring is about respect

Exactly!!!

Somethings written in some threads are just in my eyes very disrespectul towards the person in my eyes!

P.

It's true Lore, what your saying, but the Chris thread is pretty much a Teen Heartthrob thread, with older peeps visiting looking at the pics. I find some of the remarks just part of a teen expressing themselves amongst their peers, these phases do subside as they grow older, hell I am older, and have said a couple things on other threads that now that I look at them again, are just silly, but that's me, I am goofy. I know the Aerosmith site has fanfics and these are written by older folks and they are way worse, it's just silly stuff, No fansite will just have News articles, and talk of music or disscussions of the great songs they write, because it's an open forum, until that changes all Band Fansites will include the raunchy talk of a band members backside, or how they like to EF them, I have been on the Aerosmith site for over 15 years, and it's still the same, new members, same talk. I think you and the rest of the Mods do a great job, it's not easy weeding thru ever thread and not rolling your eyes.

Thanks for listening.

@Tracey

The times have probably changed A LOT since I was in my teens ;)

I mean, I have always been into music and fancied different bands/singers over the years.

Okay, back then there wasn't the chance to go onto the internet (as there simply was NO internet back then), find background infos and photos of your fave musician aso. You just had to rely on the teen magazines for posters and stories and maybe started penpalling with other fans in different countries.

What I am trying to say is, even though back then you fancied someone in the band, I can't remember having such a talk about what you would like to do with a certain someone, how often and where :shocked2:

I mean ... has the internet made people more disrespectful these days, is the youth more 'careless' or what is it?

:(

Sorry, but I'm a little lost here ...

Sorry, me again ...

What also crossed my mind is the following:

Most of us criticise the paps for invading the guys privacy and being disrespectful but hey ... aren't we doing exactly the same in some ways? :\

Surely you can't compare it completely but there are some similarities, at least I think so ... :(

I'm not sure how addicted I am, but I drive for a living, and from the start I play all of Parachutes, then ROBTTH, then X&Y and ect..... this is everyday!!! Yeah, I think I love the music:D

Me too!! It's the only music I have in my car.

Kirsten, Times have been a changing!!!:) This whole internet thing has been ablessing and a curse in some aspects. I myself, growing up as a young teen fancied a few hearttrobs and it was disscussed like it is here, but during sleep overs and those type of opportunities, nothing as public as here. I have 2 teens, and I moderate their activities online with spywear, YOU HAVE TO IN THIS INTERNET SOCIETY. What I have seen on certain threads here is not disturbing to me, some are finding themselves through this band, is it wrong? I am American, nothing over here surprises me, teens now a days know sooo much more than when I was a teen, thats society and new age technologys at work.

I hope that explains where I am coming from:confused:

Oh and about the paps, like I said before, They have been around since movies and music began, They are not going anywhere, some celebrities love the limelight, some are private, like Chris with his family, will I still look at the pics the paps put out??? Yes.

Luv you kirsten!!!

@ Tracey

Oh no ... it wasn't aimed at you in a bad way ;)

Not at all, sorry if it came across like this.

It was more or less me pondering about these things ... whether the internet has vanished any common sense or respect for other people, that's all.

I used to post on other artists forums as well, and if people would have written the stuff over there which is written here, it would have been deleted.

Not because of censorship but because of respecting someone's privacy and being decent.

Well, I don't know whether this makes sense at all ... :laugh3:

Me too!! It's the only music I have in my car.

I'll quote you but I'm not talking about anyone in particular, I've seen the "but I love their music" argument many times here

the thing is that even if we really care about the music, that's not a reason to treat them as a piece of meat...

because things like this are really scary

usergroup description:

This group is for all those girls (and some boys) in the Chris thread, that are just head over heels in love with the boy. Who, well, want to fuck him as much as I do. Who just get that special feeling whenever they look at him, and their heart just melts, and their head explodes. SO JOIN! :P

I find that extremely disrespectful , even if the members of that group absolutely love every coldplay song

I know. I doubt if you'll find a poster who will say that they are only interested in the band because of their looks. To save face, or at least try to, posters will say that they love their music. Like I said earlier, this can be compared to women (some) who like sports/player but yet they can't tell you much about the sport or a player.

I don't know but maybe the reason why they are treated like a piece of meat is because of our society and how it is so sexualized? This is what people grow up with and it's the only way they can express themselves or love of the band. Like I'm saying, I don't know so I'm just guessing.

Meh. I doubt Coldplay or those associated with them take anything on this forum all that seriously. It's all in good fun. Or at least it should be.

this!

I know this group is made only for "laughing", but when I see Chris I never never think "OMG I wanna fuck him"... That's so disproportionate !

IMO he's a really handsome man, but all this respect I have for him will always restrain me from thinking/saying such things ! First he's a talented musician, has a wonderful and unique voice, he's human, has great opinions and has so much to give to Coldplay fans ! I could say this for all the group members (forget the voice for Johnny :P)

I admire and love them so much

And I read and try to understand all the interviews, I just don't always find something to answer, so keep posting them, I admire your work on this forum too, thanks !

that's a very good point. most of the comments i read, i don't think twice about.

like the usergroup description that Lore posted, i don't really find that too extreme. :\

My parents always teached me treat other people like yourself would like to be treated and personnally I won't want to have the internet full of guys who write where and how they want to fuck me.

I am anything but prude but there is a difference to being disrepectful!

I haven't read things like on here not even on Boyband boards!!!

P.

that doesn't mean it's okay... I mean.. a friend showed me this post because he found it really creepy

This is the most awesomest group ever. Thanks for starting this group Christina.I really want to fuck him so bad.Not leaving anything out of him.Especially his chest and belly. If i get a chance to see him naked even taking away his pants everything that'ld be enough for me in a life time for liking him this much.

I'm anything but prude too, but I'm 100% sure the person who wrote it will NEVER say that in real life, that's the effect of internet :\

I find that post, among others, to be really disturbing too.

Seriously, it doesnt matter if the boys visit here or not, it doesnt matter if they do they'll find it funny, but the fact that many people feel uncomfortable with that kind of post is enough reason for EVERYONE to be respectful towards each other.

Maybe some of us don't realise this, but this kind of post is as degrading to the poster as it is to the person that he/she is talking about.

I think to say that this is how times changed, that the internet is just a really bad excuse in my mind.

In my mind, its total disrepct of the individual band members and moreover of the band as such.
