More degrading for the poster IMO, since the person she's talking about will never read it, and even would think it's funny or wouldn't mind ;)

Plus this person probably doesn't know what she's talking about :P

this is a music forum c'mon!

craaaazzzy.:(:(

oh fuck it. this is the internet. don't take things so seriously. honestly 34 pages of arguing about this?

WAIT you guys I've changed my mind! look at what this asshole said in the Will thread!!

OMG you guys I'm jizzing right now. Will is so fucking hot, I would totally s his d and do him a million times a day. His thighs, his arms, his crotch, his nipples, his fucking everything.

DEAD FROM THE HOTNESS.

:bomb: :bomb: :bomb: :sweatdrop: :sweatdrop: :dead: :dead:

You guys are right!!! DOWN WITH THE PERVERTS!

oookay.

i'm just going to say this, and not going to come back on this thread again. cause liz was nice enough to tell me about the 34 pages of silly arguing going on here.

five words: the thread is a joke.

well, it was supposed to be a joke. maybe some people didn't take it that way. for all of you that judge the thread without knowing the story behind it, here's what happened. we joked about making it on the chris thread, just for fun, but no one wanted to do it because they were afraid of the criticism like this. i wasn't, so i did it. it's fun, it's silly, it makes me laugh. maybe some of you need to grow a sense of humor, i'm not going to name names.

also. have you ever thought that one reason of attraction may be the music they play? i know that a major part of the reason i'm attracted to chris is his voice and his talent playing the piano, guitar, etc. musicians are attractive. it just so happens that these musicians are our favorite band.

you can yell at me, insult me, but in the end you'll be the one who needs to grow a pair of balls.

deal with it.

in that case we could have the forum filled with offensive comments and after that say it was a joke... it's not like the group or the threads are private, everyone can see all the posts, that's why it's important at least to use a decent language to post and keep the private jokes that might offend another people in private.

It's true Lore, what your saying, but the Chris thread is pretty much a Teen Heartthrob thread, with older peeps visiting looking at the pics. I find some of the remarks just part of a teen expressing themselves amongst their peers.

Teens expressing themselves is fine, to some extent. I don't think anyone really has a problem with "OMG Chris is so hot!" or "oooh they all look sexy in that picture!", because for any band as big as Coldplay that's to be expected. And they are all incredibly hot, I don't think anyone is denying that. :P But... it goes too far when "teens expressing themselves" means "oh I want to fuck Chris so badly; I want to lick his bare chest". There's a line of respect, for the boys, that shouldn't be crossed at any time.

I really don't get some of you posters??? The way to stop this the MODS have to put a lock on the threads or delete them, But this will not happen because the posters here do not have to pay to join here. I belong to many band outlets and I pay a yearly fee to get great fanclub seats, and the privilage of band shop reduced memorabilia. I don't think pulling up comments from other threads here to prove a point is necessary. Everyone here knows what some of these threads are about, so why even go there? I just think this thread has gone way too far, We all love this band, with their great frontman singer and his wonderful abilities to entertain us, and a great drummer, and bassist, and guitar player, plus I assume we all like to look at them as well, I think people have a choice in which to go to the Main Gallery and view pics, or google, without having to visit the teen outlet threads, if it is so wrong, then lock or delete them. Do I find what they sometimes write offensive??? Nope, I just skip over them and view pics. If anyone here believes the 4 members read this stuff, is crazy, I think others apart from the 4 do. I can't imagine Chris or any of them thumbing thru each thread that has been made for them, it's disrespectful if they do read it and post a comment, but that isn't happening.

This is my Opinion, nobody elses, and I am certainly not targeting anyone for their opinions either, I just had to vent alittle, cause I think it is a losing battle to argue, delete or lock is the only answer.

Just wanted to give my opinion. The things that I find really disturbing are pictures of"crotches and bulges".I feel embarrassed for the bandmember since Im sure he didnt think he would be under a microscope.

I also dont like when a picture iis redone to make it look like 2 band menbers are having sex. It's just not necessary. Just my opinion

First of all, just because a band member won't read the posts does not mean someone close to the band member won't read it. The band members may not have the time to visit sites dedicated to them but I'm sure their relatives and/or friends do have the time to visit sites. These people do not advertised themselves due to many reasons. So, the band members may not read it but how do you know that someone in their circle won't read it and report it back to them? You don't.

Secondly..I think a mod did say that a lot of these comments have going on for years and if they delete posts now then they would have to delete a lot of the old posts from years ago.

Thirdly....I am also one who just skips over most of the comments. I really just liking looking at the pics. Anyway, if I read it then I just ignore it. However, not everyone can ignore some posts. I agree with someone that if it's nasty then put in private/spoiler or whatever it's called.

Tracy, from another Tracey,:) Your first paragraph I guess was to my comment, You win, I stated my opinion, stand by it, and I respect your belief in that someone other than the band would read this stuff, frankly I doubt if people report back to them about such trivial things, but I do respect your opinion:)

2nd paragraph I think also addressed what I was saying, if this fansite needs to go back and delete older posts, then it should be done, if it's too much of a hassle, then things will never, ever change and is a mute point.:)

3rd paragraph, Hey we have a common ground on our opinions on this one, so I think all is good:D

I think I was addressing you but I can't remember. LOL!!

Anyhoo....I think the point is that we simply do not know whether the guys know about what is said or not. We can say that they'll never read it but how do we really know? If their friends or family read it, I'm sure they don't say "so and so said this". Instead, I think they would say "you should read some of the comments some girls say about you. They say some wild s**t". I knew this from members of a soul singer from my town whose family/friends do things like that. Seriously. They get all pissy if you say that you don't like his music, which I don't. LOL!!

The second point I agree with you. I was just stating what I read from some time ago.

Yep good points, but being the Limestone rock stars they are, they know exactly what girls and women and some men think about them, they see it at every concert and how they are approched, they know some go to bed at night thinking about them, why do you think Guy would post a bed pic to twitter?:laugh3: They know exactly how they affect the opposite sex and same sex in some cases, Hell Chris always jokingly said, "I became a Rock Star so all the girls would want to sleep with me, not just be friends, make them laugh, then go bang someone else":laugh3:

didn't Chris also say something like "Guy is the most likely member to be in a porno" at a recent concert?

YES, and this comes from a man that constanly say's the F word at his concerts knowing kids are there, but the F word is so common now aday's, it's part of everyday language with him:laugh3: He's a funny, funny, guy:lol: I doubt he thinks he's offending anyone, even his Dad told him to quit doing it, did he listen?? I think it was Jonny that said, " His Dad just was dissapointed, LOL.

So no more talk of chrissy's body parts and commenting how hot he is because, I guess, that's what being superficial means.

("Will's sausage" and "berrylicious" are acceptable words and crotch-zooming avatars are a must) .

:dozey: Problem solved.

it is quite lovely...:D

all i have to say is, DONT HATE APPRECIATE

So many posts I want to quote and reply to. I will do it in no real proper order, so bear with me, this may be a lot of babbling and make not a lot of sense, but I will try.

this is a music forum c'mon!

First and foremost, I think, the problem lies, this is a music forum. It is predominately about the music, however, this sort of behavior has been attached to music for a long time now. My opinion, it's not we should shut it (ze fangirlyness) down completely, just try not to be so extreme - spoilers if you must, damn warnings.

Well... no offense here, but topics aren't really locked or burninated or users "dealt with" for anything other than cases where you've got extreme vulgarity and/or hateful/threatening towards other members. Even I wasn't even given a slap on the wrist for hateful/threatening, only a warning by Ian when I directly insulted him, and only then. I dont know whether it's a case of people don't report things or what. If you're going to use this as an argument Lore, I hope you're going to practice what you preach.

A) You want to talk about their music? Great! Find a bunch of people who share your interest and do so. :) You want to talk about your love for a special bandmember? Wonderful! I am quite sure that there will always be enough people to be found who share your interest in them. :) You want to talk about their concerts, albums or music vidoes? Then do so because again I am quite sure that you will be lucky enough to find someone to do just that. :) You want to talk about your desire to bed some of the guys? Be my guest. Why not? Come one I seriously doubt that this is harmful - maybe a bit annoying for some people (guys and girls who are not interested in such talk) but what the heck? They always have to possibility to leave the thread or leave a stupid reply so other people can get annoyed over it and start a big discussion because of it. And we love to do that don't we? *lol*

B) I like coldplay and I really don't have the desire to elaborate on the reason to anyone why exactly that is the case. If I like them just for their sweet arses? So what? Sue me or think me as a lesser beeing. I so don't care. As I said before it is very unlikely that I will ever meet a single person from this messenger board in real life so why should I care about their approval or opinion about me? I don't understand why you have to explain to anyone why you like someone or something? It is none of their business. They don't have to pay for my likes or dislikes do they?

C) I will tell you what I think about the person who startet this thread because I feel like sharing when it comes to that. I think it is someone who like to talk and be talked to. Someone who likes to feel superior to other people for whatever reason it may be (and why not? We all do that in one way or another no matter how nice or good we are most of the time ;)). Maybe it is a loner in real life or maybe he is just frustrated and needs someplace to makes himself feel better.

D) Whatever the reason for the creation of this thread was in the end it is unimportant. Like every "discussion" it is something that makes you talk, talk, talk and try to convience another person of the rightfullness of your opinion (because that is what a discussion is about - you don't force your opinion on someone or at least you should not do that but you try to make him see your point) and I can just talk for myself but most of the time I stuck with my position that I am right and the other person is wrong. So this thread is a place for many persons who like to tell their opinion and get frustrated over the fact that they can't make all the other persons to see things their way. And with frustration their comes agression and with agression there comes the willingness to attack even if it is just with stupid little insults which makes one feel better. ;)

I snipped out bits I thought weren't really relevant or my brain just didn't care enough about to give some good words, so:

A) It is harmful - instead of going on a rant about how it is to the subject, the poster, etc., I will tell on my own story. I sank into a depression triggered in July by my, er, fascination for a lack of a better word with one of the members (feel free to guess, you get a cookie). By November I was telling myself excuses as to why I should keep going. By December Christmas had lost all of its meaning because all I could think of, you guessed it! That guy. Now don't come parading right in front of a thread, proclaiming "IT'S HARMLESS!" in front of me. I could have lost my life to it if I hadn't of gotten a bucket of water tipped on me in January and realized. Yes, I am rather snappy on this subject, I can be bitter, but that doesn't change the fact it can be dangerous sometimes. You never know, because I sure as hell didn't.

B) Hmm... "mind your own business" is a bit of a point in this whole thing, but that comes down to caring about whether it's gonna bother someone else. Sure, you can spin the "I don't care about what other people think" thing, that's cool, but "I don't care about what other people feel" isn't gonna work in real life.

C) No need to degrade the OP for posting this, now, that just makes you seem like an asshole and kills your point.

D) That's up to the people who participate in it. They can be open minded and take something from the discussion or they can rant and rave about how they are right and all others are wrong and look like a lunatic.

So no more talk of chrissy's body parts and commenting how hot he is because, I guess, that's what being superficial means.

("Will's sausage" and "berrylicious" are acceptable words and crotch-zooming avatars are a must) .

:dozey: Problem solved.

You guys arguing for the "we aren't superficial" side really need to stop typing as if you're smartasses, seriously, it isn't helping you at all. We can haz teh civils, plz? Sheesh.

I mean, the chances that Phil, Debs or any bandmember are actually likely to visit some certain threads on here are quite low.

Surely they've got better things to do and they probably also know that this is a fan's place and some just need to drool over bandmembers aso.

Which is fine with me, I've done/I am doing that as well. ;)

But it's the way, these things are done!

And honestly speaking, at least for my opinion, things are getting a little bit out of hand, or the way things are written is getting a bit more gross these days.

I am surely not prudish but I just think that some things said and done are quite disrespectful, IMO.

And I am just imagining what would that certain bandmember think of this place and the people posting this stuff if he was reading all these comments ...? :\

Okay, probably not likely to happen but still ...

Food for thought!

Kirsten's got a point.

I have to also note this: nobody posting here has an angel reputation when it comes to these things, before this damn thing comes up. I've written an erotica or aforementioned "soft porn" fic about Chris and I just a year ago, I've done just as bad things myself (I swear that sequel is gonna have some plot this time :laugh4:).

Also, I have a question on our mod's stance on this. A month ago or so a huge argument erupted in the "Post pictures of the gorgeous Chris" thread about issues like this, and when a moderator tromped onto the scene, they said "some people are acting as if a new rule has come into place" and that it was basically ok for people to do this. Now it's changed. What's happened for this turnaround to take place?

P.S. Why in the shit are the other Chrissygirls in aforementioned thread and Berrygirls complaining they're being labelled superficial? Seriously. Nobody's actually accused them directly of doing anything. I'm a Chrissygirl myself, and it's confusing the hell out of me.

Actually if you re read my post in this thread you'll see my qualm was with the number of picture threads, not the content. ;)

another pointless thread.

Yes, but you clicked on it and viewed it:laugh3: Your point has been well noted and appreciated:P

Actually if you re read my post in this thread you'll see my qualm was with the number of picture threads, not the content. ;)

Ah. Lore and Jen metnioned about the content, perhaps I should try not to skim posts sometimes. Ze brain, it fails at remembering.
