Is Gwyneth Paltrow’s Marriage on the Rocks?

 

 

Never marry a rockstar. Just don’t do it! They’re egomaniacs who have an insatiable appetite for excess and women. Well, maybe it’s not that bad, but Gwyneth Paltrow is definitely finding out how fickle musicians can be.

 

There are reports that her marriage to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin is headed for trouble. The “Yellow” singer hasn’t been spotted with his “Shallow Hal” wife for quite some time, and it’s starting to look like more than just a coincidence.

 

Sources tell press that she constantly avoids talking about Martin and often shifts the conversation to another topic when he is brought up. During a recent trip to the salon, Paltrow only spoke of Chris for, “less than five total minutes, always quickly changing the topic to her kids Apple and Moses.”

 

But when asked if there was trouble in paradise, the Sliding Doors actress responded, “Just because he’s not here doesn’t mean we’re divorcing.” That’s not the kind of response you’d expect from a happily married wife.

That's exactly the kind of response I expect from a celebrity who's constantly hassled to talk about details of her private life. :rolleyes:

And let's remember, he is recording an album right now, thus becoming even more busy. And who are these people who expect them to be hanging arm and arm together all day and all night, and in front of the photographers! That's just not how they are. I certainly hope they aren't having problems, but it seems like the same kind of gossip we get about them every other year or so!

They never go to events together, so I don't see why that would change, or mean they've split.

Exactly, it would be way more more weird if they suddenly started attending red carpet events and parties wrapped around each other posing for the paps. Then I'd start to worry! :P They've always made it very clear that they avoid being snapped together at events and talking about each other to the press, so this is just old news.

They are seen living predominantly separate public lives. Hmmmm... Let's see. they have a lot of wealth and cash flow, private carbon-un-neutral jets to use and a hell of a lot of flexibility. As the New Rich, they have lots of tech at their disposal, too, to keep in touch and get together as they pursue separate careers. They are two artists (ultimately, the art will be the most important thing until they are older) who are sharing their lives and bringing together who they are. WHAT. Are they supposed to subsume themselves into each other and disappear into paparazzi-land? or something? Good for Chris. Good for Gwyneth. They will have so much more to offer each other as they grow old, sag and wrinkle together. Maybe they won't grow bored with each other if they actually have their own lives.I just hope Chris keeps close to his babies, they need him, too.

they seem to be truly happy together , besides althoug they're not photographed together at red carpets we KNOW that they were together ( like at the premiere of The Good Night ). so not being photographed doesn't mean that their marriage is on the rocks , does it ?

Gwyneth Paltrow stars in 'The Good Night'

 

Gwyneth Paltrow says she actually had to try and convince her brother Jake to cast her in his film "The Good Night," opening Friday.

 

"I loved how wry and unglamorous [my character] was, part of the dissolution of a relationship," she says, "But Jake said, 'Absolutely not.' He didn't like the perception that went with it."

 

Which perception? How about this: Oscar-winning big sis comes to the rescue by lending star power to younger sib's feature film writing-directing debut?

 

But then Jake Paltrow was able to attract Penelope Cruz, Danny DeVito and Martin Freeman to his cast. So he could cast Gwyneth without it looking like his whole film was riding on her. "I just thought it would be fun to work together," she says. "And it was."

 

The film focuses on Gary (Freeman), a former Brit pop star eking out a living in New York writing music for commercials and suffering through a rocky marriage with Dora (Paltrow). His one escape is sleep; he has a dream life that includes the gorgeous Anna (Cruz), but he can never get in enough sack time with his dream girl. So he consults a guru on lucid dreaming (DeVito), a way of directing your dreams and making them last.

 

"There's a feeling you get around Gwyneth and Jake that's very giving," DeVito says. Though three years older than her brother, Paltrow says that while working together, she often felt like Jake was the elder sibling.

 

"He's got an old soul," she says. "He's very measured, very thoughtful. And I'm slightly less so."

 

It's not exactly a comeback film for her, but her role here and in next summer's superhero flick "Iron Man" represent a conscious decision to refocus on acting.

 

"I basically took three years off," she says, "A lot of times people will say they're going to do that, but I actually did. But it's a very risky thing to do if you're a woman. When there came a point where it felt fine to go back, I thought, 'I hope people remember me.'"

 

No problem there. But after taking time off in her early 30s to focus on motherhood (she and rocker Chris Martin of Coldplay are parents to 3-year-old Apple and 19-month-old Moses), Paltrow knows she's been lucky to return to acting at the same level at which she left.

 

"This business is so based on the last thing you did," she says. "Women aren't given the same slack as men, the same margin of error, the same career span. ... In your 30s, the interesting roles [are] fewer and farther between. I was ready to start over."

The first thing actress Gwyneth Paltrow bought for her shingle-style Amagansett house was a $37,500 Boontje Blossum chandelier, but her "major splurge" was on a yoga and pilates studio that she uses every day.

 

That's according to the latest issue of Us Weekly, in a sneak peek of a spread in the Oct. 9 issue of House & Garden magazine.

 

Paltrow and husband, Coldplay rocker Chris Martin, bought the unfinished home for $5.4 million in 2006. First, they added bedrooms to accommodate their "big families," which includes children Apple, 3, and Moses, 18 months, mother, actress Blythe Danner, and brother, director Jake Paltrow.

 

The house is 7,000 square feet and two miles from the ocean.

 

Paltrow, who says she was hands-on in decorating the house, is quoted as saying that she doesn't want things too "fussy" or "decorated."

 

"I don't want the kids to feel there's any place they can't go," she says. "I want them to feel like it's their house."

 

The Us spread includes photos from the upcoming House & Garden of Paltrow's kitchen, with its Michael Minkoff cabinets, master bedroom, with its calfskin bed, and dining room, with that chandelier and plates from the budget store CB2.

The Shakespeare In Love actress was on hand at a New York screening of The Good Night to support the film's director - her younger brother, Jake

 

A newcomer to film directing he may be, but Jake Paltrow can already count one very special fan amongst his admirers - his famous sister Gwyneth Paltrow.

 

The mum-of-two - who appears in her younger sibling's directorial debut, The Good Night - was on hand to offer some sisterly support at this weekend's special New York screening of the romantic comedy.

 

The film tells the tale of a former pop star whose feels his life is going nowhere. Things take a turn for the better when he falls for a girl - until he realises that she is literally the girl of his dreams and he can only see her when he's asleep.

 

As well as Jake's famous sister, the cast contains a host of acting talent, including Danny DeVito, Penelope Cruz and The Office actor Martin Freeman.

 

Gwyneth wasn't the only celebrity eager to see her baby brother's first film. Star pal Stella McCartney, model Christy Turlington and Sex And The City writer Candace Bushnell also gave their red carpet backing.

Gwyneth Paltrow to hit the road in Spain for new television show

 

MADRID (AFP) — Oscar-winning US actress Gwyneth Paltrow will tour around Spain as part of a new reality television show to air in the US that aims to highlight the nation's culture and sights, the producers said.

 

She will be joined by chef and television personality Mario Batali, New York Times food columnist Mark Bittman and Spanish TV actress Claudia Bassols, production firm Frappe Inc. said Tuesday.

 

"Journeying throughout Spain, it's an 'anything goes' experience spiked with all the hazards any male-female car trip can offer," it said in a statement.

 

The show, which will be shot over a span of 10 weeks in English and Spanish, will be "a showcase of Spain as it has never been seen before," it added.

 

Producers did not reveal what locations the four will visit in their fleet of Mercedes cars in order to ensure they are left alone by the press and fans.

 

"Spain ... on the road Again" will run on US public television PBS as 13 one-hour episodes during late next year and is expected to be broadcast in other nations as well.

 

Paltrow, who won a best-actress Oscar for 1998's "Shakespeare in Love," attended high school in Spain as a teenager.

 

She currently lives in London with British band Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin whom she wed in 2003. The couple have two young children.

What happens when an Academy Award winner marries a Grammy winner? You have enough dough to buy a mansion and pimp out every room.

 

Gwyneth Paltrow opened the doors to her $5.4 million dollar Long Island home to House & Garden magazine. Gwyneth and her rocker hubby Chris Martin purchased their trendy East End home back in 2006, and let's just say 'amazing' doesn't even begin to describe their magnificent home.

 

Gwyneth, who had a hand in designing, wanted to create a space that was both functional for her family and expressed her artistic side. Kudos to Gwyneth, this home just made my list of dream houses! Check out the pictures...

 

 

 

 

 

I'm only going to say two things about this:

1. Why have 'they' invited the press into their hone if they don't want to be harrassed?

2. I thought they were publicity shy - this just doesn't make sense.
