haha thats awesome!! i guess the people at betterphoto.com are coldplay fans :D

You take your camera. If anyone wants to take it, you say you won't give it to them but if you must then you'll give them the batteries, "that way you won't be able to take photos". And then you hide extra batteries somewhere else (batteries are very easy to hide).

I recommend putting old batteries inside your camera so you won't be giving new ones the security man/woman .

I've been to a lot of shows, and in my experience it is best to call the venue and ask them what kinds of cameras are allowed in the venue for the particular show you are going to. Some venues allow cameras, and the bands don't. I've been to shows like that and started taking pictures and the security say no. If I were to bet on it, I would say personal, not professional, are allowed, especially at big venues like these.

hope this helps

I always bring my camera and hide it in my sock, they always pat down up to your knees.

At Brixton my friend had his camera in his pocket and was asked what he had in there he replied: my wallet and my camera. the security guys said okay, and he could go in, just like that.

we we're there with a group and somebody else brought their professional camera ( we chose not to, the risk was to high) they let him in at first, but after about 5-10 minutes into the concert he was tapped on his back by security and had to hand over the camera, he was smart enough to take out the memory card, and hand it to his daughter. then he had to come along and sign his name and everything, he recieved his camera back afterwards, but missed a couple of minutes of the show, and that's just not worth it to me.

They told him camera's without a changable lens are allowed, since nowadys everybody has a camera on their cell, and there's just o stopping it.

soooo pretty much just a regular digital camera..you think they would let me bring it in??

I usually check out which security guards are just barely glancing at the people going in and get in that line. Last concert the camera went in my sock.

Like some other members have said, if you're a girl, try hiding the camera in your bra. When I went with my friends, we stuffed them in there and you couldn't notice at all because of the types of shirts we were wearing. Because of where we sat, there were security guards everywhere and we were really nervous to take the cameras out. While waiting through the opening acts, we sort of "made friends" with one of the security guards near us and then sheepishly asked him if we could use our cameras. He said that we could use our cameras and was kind of shocked that we would even be asking if they weren't permitted. We also asked someone to take our picture standing next to him ( we were just so excited to be there that we had to capture every moment lol) and he was totally cool about it, so I guess it just depends on the security?

Cameras??

I know this has probably been asked a few times but will I be alright taking my camera to the uk leg of the tour, the security at the last two shows I saw at the Liverpool echo arena didn't do any checks as I walked in.

Quick Question!

Sorry if this question has already risen quite a lot,

But do the security at venues have a big issue with digital cameras? Or are they ok to take in?

Just cos i'm sure i read somewhere that they get confiscated if you get searched

I'm going to glasgow S.E.C.C on saturday to see them, so if anyone has any information on their policies or regular venue policies could you let me know ASAP please :)

Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing. I'm going to Liverpool and on their website it says 35mm cameras are ok... but I don't know what that means. Mine is a digital camera

I took my camera and nobody said anything. I didn't see anyone being searched. Call the box office if you're worried, but I think these days with camera phones being so good it would be unfair to stop those with cameras taking photos but not confiscate the phones that nigh on everyone there will have...

Only really professional video cameras are frowned upon. Anything else goes.

Ah okay Thanks :D

If i get some good shots i'll post them on here when i get back

Have fun on saturday! :D I'm seeing them on tuesday, the other glasgow date...Can't wait! :D

Thanks mate you aswell :)

I'm traipsing all the way up from Sunderland!

Wonder how long it will take to get there in all this bloody snow :o

Yeah, anything professional looking will not get in. If you've got a good digital camera, but it looks like a point and click, it'll be fine. Security round us at Brum seemed really hot on people recording as well, so watch out for that.

I think you shouldnt really worry... the last two gigs I didn't even get searched.

And EVERYONE has a camera... or a camera phone, so I don't think they really frown upon it... well, unless professional cams, like Mark said.

Security have told us entering the venue......and they clearly saw my digital......No "Video cameras" as in home video cameras and "no cameras with detachable lenses" even at shows with NO CAMERAS printed right on ticket.

Some venues have been more strict once inside about stopping people filming with their digital cameras and some could care less.

When I went to the show in Anaheim on Nov 25 we got full search. Everything out of pockets, scanned with wands. I had a large digital camera:

held it in my hand trying to cover as much of the lense as possible and never got a look from security. Before Coldplay went on I had over a dozen people ask me how I managed to sneak it in, they were shocked. Apparently some security was really tough on people, seems the older security is more strict than younger ones, I was searched by a younger guy. I also had no problem at all filming, and I was on an aisle. Guess it's all about luck. Good luck to everyone trying to get a camera in...atleast try.
