What does Coldplay listen to?

I've always wondered what musicians/bands/artists listen to when they listen to their mp3 player or whatever? We sometimes hear what bands have inspired them, but does that mean they listen to them frequently?

So here are my questions, who/what do you think Coldplay listens to (as individuals or as a whole)?

Do they ever listen to themselves (other than for recording/quality purposes)? If so, is that arrogant or just music appreciation? Do other bands listen to themselves?

I'm curious to see everyone's thoughts.

As far I remember Chris has said he likes u2, radiohead, arcade fire, the beatles, richard ashcroft (and/or the verve), echo and the bunnymen, kraftwerk, johnny cash, oasis, Aha, REM, blur, the killers, nirvana, jeff buckley, pink floyd, muse, leonard cohen, the arctic monkeys, rammstein, john williams, David Bowie, kanye west and jay-z among countless others. I suspect he has the most songs on his i-pod than anyone else in the band.

Guy started out in a genesis cover band. His influences are mainly in jazz I think, but I suspect he's more familiar with phil collins than any other artist.

Jonny grew up on the stone roses and my bloody valentine. So that was his primary influence going into coldplay.

We know far less about will although Chris once said that, in college he knew the chords and riffs to virtually any song you could name and recently he said he admired some of justin timberlake's work.

The band tries to listen to the same artists and influences, so many of the artists that I wrote under Chris's names like kraftwerk are also admired and appreciated by the rest of the band.

Chris said quite sometimes that he can't listen to Coldplay albums (out of insecurity, probably). I don't know what the Will, Jonny or Guy think about it.

Talking about musical influences, I think Will was really into Rage Against the Machine.

They have mentioned Pink Floyd in a few interviews. I can hear some similarities in their music. Not the trippy, psychedelic sound in Floyd's earlier music, but more of their DSOTM - The Wall era sound.
