Coldplay's Twitter

Featured Replies

It is sad he had to justify what most of us on here understood as a legal sample from the movie/song. Some people on here shit on him for stealing the chords, when he had every knowledge of it, AND had permission.

Yeah, but this shows how high the demands at the moment are. Coldplay created such masterpieces and everyone want them to do it again. It doesn't fit in the picture of Coldplay that they samples a song...

...thats my explanation. :)

I have to admit that these copy reprovals are really boring! :veryangry2:

Seems like Chris recognises the amount of influence twitter has. Smart move, silencing all the rumours by typing one sentence.

I wonder just how he knows that people are upset about the sampling? Or did he just tweet it to be fair to the original song?

I don't think he should have to explain himself, but maybe thats not even what he's doing.

The thing is, it's not that people were questioning whether they got permission. It was clear that they did, that's not the point. A lot of people were just miffed that it (the first "new" release (aside from Christmas Lights) after being in the studio for 2 years) wasn't entirely original.

including myself

Oh well. It shouldn't be about what other people think/want anyway (including the fans), they should just make music that they want to make for the sake of it, and hopefully that's what they are doing.

Sorry but what's the Knole House?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knole_House

Knole is an English country house in the town of Sevenoaks in west Kent, surrounded by a 1,000-acre (4.0 km2) deer park. One of England's largest houses, it is reputed to be a calendar house, having 365 rooms, 52 staircases, 12 entrances and 7 courtyards. It is remarkable in England for the degree to which its early 17th-century appearance is preserved, particularly in the case of the state rooms: the exteriors and interiors of many houses of this period, such as Clandon Park in Surrey, were dramatically altered later on. The surrounding deer park is also a remarkable survivor, having changed little over the past 400 years except for the loss of over 70% of its trees in the Great Storm of 1987.

The house was built by Thomas Bourchier, Archbishop of Canterbury, between 1456 and 1486.
