2009 North American Tour ... presale???

Featured Replies

^^^Congrats Zoe! Only you and another guy in San Diego got orchestra seats!

(Hint: both of you are going on your own)

Well of course Ticket Rush won't sell tickets. It only gives you the password, which you use on Live Nation (or Ticketmaster if your concert is selling there too)

Thanks!!! I'm so excited, when my mom told me what she got I freaked out :P

And nooo, that's not what happened. Remember last night, when I asked why it had changed from "tell a friend" to "more info coming soon"? Well, at 10AM this morning, it never changed from that message to the "buy tickets" button. All of the other presales started, just not Mansfield. So weird!

What row in Section 3 did you end up getting?? (For Mansfield, right?)

I managed to somehow grab a pair together in row Z of section 3. Still don't know how that happened, but after a careful inspection of the way their rows are set up, that's 19th row! Which is FRIGHTENINGLY good for grabbing them from Live Nation! Now comes the really hard part...waiting 6 months!

Sorry, I didn't see this- I'm about 7 rows behind you in row GG :) Have you found a map that shows the actual numbers of the seats? Because I'd love to know exactly where I am, not just the row! But anyway, yeah, they're really close! According to Live Nation my view will look like this:

...Whoa!! :D

^there are Coldplayers who would buy them, so it would be a good investment.

AND What's up with that "waiting room" thing?

Must be the many presales going on today.

I'm glad my presale is only along with the Houston one next Friday.

my presale is on friday too..

my presale is on friday too..

For which concert? Carson?

@ Zoe: I still think I can go directly to Live Nation, and just write the Ticket Rush password.

Ill be at the mansfield show and i got 3 section 7 tickets row AA, kinda in the back but at least there covered! Cant go wrong with covered seat in my book SO EXCITED!

I didn't have any look in the presale today... the website took forever to load and when it finally did, the seats weren't good. I'm going to try for the general sale tomorrow but I have a feeling i will have to head to ebay :(

so the truth comes out, presale gets you decent seats if you're early, normal gets you a little worse seats, where the flipping hell are the front sections? all the brokers have them on their sites for sale already. how? wouldn't coldplay want their die hard fans up front on the shows? dave matthews band has the warehouse where i used to (quit listening a few years ago) get front row seats as a member. i don't get it.

my thought exactly, I was on live nation at 10am and got section 5 row N, where were the first 3 sections? I went back and went back got sections 7, 8, 4 but never got 1 2 3. I kept turning the tix down to get in line again and then by 10:20ish it said they were all gone. I got to Ebay, Stubhub and Ace ticketing and they have all tix up for sale already and have some for first three sections. I call BS, ticketmaster and Livenation suck, they are monopolies and I would rather go back to waiting outside in lines on a first come first serve basis. But in the end I went back around 10:30ish to try one more time and got Section 6 (dead center) row V. I am going to try again on live nation when the rest goes on sale and if I can get better I will sell the ones I got today. How many days till Aug? That's the other thing these A holes get to make interest on our money for 6 months, why do we have to buy these 6 months in advance. my tix were 92 but ended up costing another 27 because of the 19.99 live nation fee and the 7.99 comcast center fee. I'm done bitching

These tickets on stubhub, ebay etc are not from ticketmaster or livenation. They come from sponsors, radio stations, venue, promoters and roadies. Usually the roadies who go on tour get so many tickets-which they mostly sell because they aren't that well paid. Venue sponsors get batches of tickets for every show to give to clients and employee's. Radio stations usually sell their tickets etc etc... I used to work for Ticketmaster and most venues had blocked out seats ie. one's the public can never buy.

This is why I prefer standing/general admission shows. It just seems fairer that if you are so much of a fan and prepared to wait in line 12 hours to be first to the front then you should get front row.

^ Was that for Mansfield? Because I got Section 3 right at 10AM, first try. I think it was just luck, to be completely honest.

I don't have anything against these ticket sites, really, I've just accepted that buying any kind of ticket is always unfair and rigged.

agreed...

Today, when many of the concerts go on general sale, people are already complaining on the other threads that the people who bought on the presale got better seats

Apparently, they haven't care to read the posts from previous days, where people doing the presale complained about being screwed over.

The last post by tigermilk makes it crystal clear that the chances of getting a seat or seats in the closest sections are NULL, this is my logic:

a) LiveNation nor Ticketmaster get all the tickets

b) Roadies, venue sponsors, and radio stations mostly get the best seats, which they usually give away to employees, radio-listeners, or sell thru these actions sites.

c) LiveNation and Ticketmaster don't make all the tickets show up at once, but gradually. That could explain why the same ticket was showing up for the Charlotte concert to me.

What I get from other people's experience with presale and general sale is that getting a close seat will only work if:

a) Do the presale -- it's highly unlikely you'll get better seats on the gen sale. Plus, you have 12 hours to try the presale. Sometimes better seats show up as the day progresses.

b) Buy a single ticket -- this one sucks, but it seems to work. I'm not saying you have to go alone. It means that if you're buying 2 tickets, you buy each separately.

I understand if you cannot or don't want to try option B.

I am very confused. The Toronto show is showing up at the Amphitheatre however if you look at the amphitheatre website or ticketmaster, the show is not on sale yet. However some sites in the US are selling tickets for the Toronto show July 29th already? Are these tickets legit (should i be getting them in case I cant get any when they are released in Canada?) thoughts?

Hello my fellow Coldplay fans!

Does anyone have the password for HOUSTON?

I registered on ticketrush and selected Coldplay and I have not been emailed anything at all!

HELP!

does anyone have the presale password for tampa's august 9th show???

or anyway i can get it?

thank you!!!!

P.S I live in North Dakota and traveling to Tampa for 4 days just to see Coldplay!!!!

why is ticketrush.com redirecting to livenation.com??

I'll admit, I cried after I bought my tickets. I woke up early just so I could be on the site when the tickets went on sale and when I couldn't find any 2 seats together in RES1, I called the box office.

The lady rushed me into buying crappy seats in RES2 and told me everything else was sold out. Ten minutes later when I went back to the site, they were offering 2 seats together in the middle/center sections in RES1.

I cried. I felt so cheated.

And after doing some searching online for orchestra/floor seats, I find that if I really want a ticket to see my favorite band of all time, I have to pay close to $1000. I can't afford that. I'm just a peon.

Yes, I'm 30...married....2 kids....but I couldn't help crying. It's sad I love this band so much, but I do and their music speaks to me. Unfortunately, it's going to have to speak to me at the back of the amphitheatre. :(

i'm sorry to hear that. i now have 4 sets of tickets because better ones kepy opening up, figure i can just sell 3 of them. still, nothing better than 2nd section back, probably 100 feet from stage at least, it sucks.

^^Oh, I'm sorry.

Geez, I wish someone who works with Coldplay read these posts.

You know, we're not expecting free tickets, we just want a fairer system for hard-core fans to get good seats. They did that on the Twisted Logic Tour and before, why not now?

^^what did they do? for the twisted logic tour I ended up getting my ticks off ebay because by the time I was able to get tickets, all the good ones were gone.

^well, I read a post by someone in the Tampa thread that he got a presale code from the band's website back in 2006.

ok this might be a dumb question but here it goes..for my venue on livenation it does not show the seating chart layout..what this the case for other venues? was it added the day of the presale and general sale or what?

i would just like to know what seats i am buying!!!!

It was the same thing for Charlotte too. What I did was open another window with the seating chart so I could see where the tickets would be located.

Does anyone know any for the Carson, CA show? Please and thankyou:nice:

I am looking for this too. I am registered on Ticketmaster and Live Nation. I did not get the email update. Maybe it is because I hadn't selected my preferred artists? Anyway, the FAQ says to go to ticketrush.com for the presale password info, but that just redirects you to live nation.

This is so frustrating.
