I couldn't see why they would agree to partake in something potentially quite embarrassing... Especially Chris who once said he'd never act in a movie despite being offered roles... :P

"In 2003, it was leaked to the music and tabloid press that Ash were working on a horror film described as a 'teen slasher'. The film, called Slashed, was shot while the band were on tour in America but some scenes were also shot in the UK. The screenplay, written by Jed Shepherd and directed by Alexander Marks included star roles by Chris Martin (Sherbet Bones) and Jonny Buckland (Agent Ford) of Coldplay as a pair of FBI agents hired to track down a supernatural serial killer. Other star performances include that of Moby, James Nesbitt, Dave Grohl and Ash themselves.[2] The film was much hyped due to the celebrity performances but it was never generally released to the public and is currently being held in storage. hi, im Jed and I wrote 'Slashed'. Seems that people have alot of questions about the movie. There is quite alot of info on Ash's wiki page but if you have anything else. then ask here and Ill try to answer! Don't forget I wrote it in 2003 so I may have forgotten a few things but I'll try.

 

Bit of background - I believe I was asked to write Slashed as I had previously sent Mark Hamilton of Ash, a script for a zombie film in 2002. I guess he liked it and asked me to write a 15 minute Slasher film for an extra on a DVD. Ash liked it so much, they asked me to expand it into a full movie and I had to write parts for all these stars. So I added characters and subplots all over the place. I went out to LA and met Coldplay and basically interviewed Chris for a part in the film. He had an idea that he wanted to be a Sherlock holmes type character, so thats why we came up with Sherbet Bones. Datsun Ford (Jonny) is obviously a Watson type character and perfectly backs up Chris' outstanding performance as the FBI agent that confronts the killer.

 

Like Tim has said in recent interviews, Chris is the best thing about it. His acting is so good and he speaks in a kind of rhyme throughout the whole thing. I wrote the majority of Chris/Jonny's part backstage in LA and on planes. I wouldnt say its the greatest thing I've ever written - if Im being honest - but Chris' acting makes it into something much better than it should be!

 

 

Also, for those that think it will never see the light of the day... you dont have long to wait....
