I've always thought Clocks and Speed of Sound are very similar and I was wondering which of the two you like best! My preference is probably Speed of Sound.

Clocks is a masterpiece. Speed of Sound is just a bad copy... And it shouldn't have been on X&Y , nor the first single!

Not at all, no. The rhythmic patterns are quite similar, but the chord progressions themselves are different.

 

Anyway, to the question. "Clocks" > "Speed of Sound." I find "Speed of Sound" to be quite overrated, honestly.

I owe a lot to Speed of Sound. It was the song that got me into Coldplay, which in turn helped me discover plenty of other great artists.

 

That said, I'm going with Clocks. :cool:

Speed of sound was the first song I heard from Coldplay and I loved it. So it is my favourite between this two.
