[3-July-2011] Coldplay @ Main Square Festival, Arras, France

Remember though guys, the crowd is french so most likely a lot of them hardly knows english at all. That could be one of the reasons for it. Also, the language is structured differently, for example, from what I remember its very hard for a french person do do the english "th" sound, in the same way its hard for a british person to do the frensh "r".

They're a little more excited for Fix You, but still... very unimpressed by the crowd.

Heck yes, man!

Let's do it  Can you imagine how epic it would be if we had a crowd 50,000 strong made up of nothing but Coldplayers?! :wacky:

holy

they should make that :wacky:

all coldplayers would fight to get close to the band in the field

They played 18 at Glastonbury - unless you count Wonderful World separately.

Ah, I bet that's why.

Doesn't look like we're going to get PoC--ETiaW has just come on :(

I was thinking this too that language could be a possible barrier.

Yep. The majority of the crowd looks severely bored.

Well you know I'm French and it's true that we all suck at English and languages generally. But really, if you want to get into it you can. It's not because you have bad prononciation that you can't sing along... That's not a good excuse ^^

Or you know, like jumping around, you doesn't need to speak English for this !

i don't think that's the reason...

Ooooh, close-up of Jonny's guitar :wideeyed:

Looks like it says 'to the sky' . . . .

Agh, you can tell Chris is getting tired--his voice keeps cracking

its because also of the song, difficiult to sing live!

in the credits there was the setlist

I thought they only played one song less in Nuremberg yet... when they performed xxx

I thought for the first two gigs they played one less song - one of Trouble/Everything's Not Lost were added to the setlists from the 3rd or 4th gig I think.

Great to see they brought back Cemeteries of London to the setlist tonight.

See?

The band really enjoyed this show. But the audience was really cold in some songs. Then came The Scientist. A wonderful sing-along! Jonny's guitar part in GPASUYF were amazing, as always. That's probably the highlight of the show. Unfortunately, there was a mistake in In My Place, but the band fixed that immediately. That's why I like them, they never give up and they love communicating with the audience. Chris is really funny when he speaks french! They finished the show as they started: full of energy! The audience really loved ETIAW. A brilliant show. :D

Congrats and thank you for another superb experience, Coldplay! Amazing concert :nice:

where would it be?

in england ? :P

haah maybe...I'd just have to find the money to get there! haha :) But it trul would be the greatest concert ever. :D

Alright...well I must go donwstairs now and pay attention to my family it's my aunt's bday and I'm up here all alone. :P The things I do for Coldplay... Bye everyone!
