May 25, 201115 yr From Los Angeles, California http://www.fosterthepeople.com/ Torches, the highly anticipated debut album by Foster The People, is the soundtrack for an eternal summer. Produced by Paul Epworth (Adele + Florence and the Machine), Rich Costey (Muse + Interpol), and Greg Kurstin (Beck + Red Hot Chili Peppers), Torches delivers on both the promise of their breakthrough chart-topping single Pumped Up Kicks and the promise of this young band out of Los Angeles. "We just want people to feel better about their lives." The sound is universally uplifting combining influences from alternative's greats mixed with songs that make you dance. "Accessible yet challenging, gleaming yet gritty, pop yet petrifying: Foster The People are a fresh evolution of modern music." May 25, 201115 yr great album. a lot of variety throughout with plenty of indie anthems. it's nice to see a band live up to the hype. can't wait to see them live later this year.
May 25, 201115 yr ^Me too!! I love the album, I'm enjoying it so much more than I thought I would based on the first couple of singles (not that I didn't like them). I'm actually really annoyed that I missed them when they toured (pre album release) a couple of months back.
May 25, 201115 yr Haha yeah I know. But it's always nice to see bands in a concert rather than a festival setting. Either way, really looking forward to seeing them :D
May 25, 201115 yr ooh i love them, heard interview and acoustic versions of their songs on ALT satellite radio, very nice

May 26, 201115 yr I got to listen to the album via Spinner... pretty catchy. I really liked Houdini a lot
June 1, 201115 yr OOOH yay, there's a thread! I love this album. I remember first hearing Pumped Up Kicks back when and I liked it a lot. Then Helena Beat and Houdini came out and I loved them. Now I love the whole album. I think my favorites are Call it What You Want, Miss You, and Broken Jaw. Life on the Nickel is good too. In fact I like them all. Keeping in mind that I was already familiar with Pumped Up Kicks, Helena Beat, Houdini, Don't Stop and I Would Do Anything for You. I met Mark at SXSW. :wacky: Seeing them at ACL. Ok bye. Edit: Oh and I need to mention that I'm obsessed with the cover art. I think it's brilliant.
June 2, 201115 yr Pleasantly surprised at how quickly these guys have emerged into the spotlight. I actually never liked "Pumped Up Kicks", but then I heard the other tracks on their EP and loved them. Haven't given the full-length LP a spin yet, but this is a band to watch. LA's given the world tons of good bands but also some that were just plagues. Foster's the most exciting one in a while.
June 2, 201115 yr You should definitely give the album a go. I'm really loving it, one of my favourite recent releases.
July 27, 201114 yr Has anyone else heard of this band? Currently, they're most most widely known for "Pumped Up Kicks", but my personal favorite is "Houdini". Any other fans?

August 1, 201114 yr OMG! I just bought their album after listening to Pumped Up Kicks :awesome: Amazing album! Loved it :D
August 1, 201114 yr Good CD all the way though, I thought it'd kind of flop off at the end, but I really liked it!
