I would say: Calm down our expectations. ;)

Hmm . . . First of all I think that the title 'Paradise' is misleading. It'll probably be a darker song, possibly dealing with a situation that seems to be perfect, but underneath it's a totally different story (a certain book comes to mind but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called . . .).

 

As for what it sounds like, I imagine it to be a hybrid of Violet Hill and Cemeteries of London, with a little bit of Viva influence. It will start with a piano and gradually build into a full-band song with some of Davide Rossi's strings. There will be some of Coldplay's signature "ohhh oohh's" somewhere in the mix, and at the end it will all fade away back to the piano and Chris singing the final verse or two (think Swallowed In The Sea).

It better be damn good. That is all.

Extremely happy song with happy piano almost like lovers in japan. The chorus has a very strong impact of johnny boys guitar with a very catchy hook. It will be structured chrous verse chorus verse chrous. it will have a similar melody as trian's " hey soul sister" but wil be much more powerful and full of insturments and strings

I hope it sounds sunny, imagine if it featured a steel drum. :dazzled:

I expect to be something like Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, but maybe slightly psychedelic... something that makes you feel like you're in Paradise :P

It's gonna be a Huge Anthem sing along, just like Viva, Fix You, ect........ I'm betting the swamp Land we own in Florida on it:D

Teardrop was SUCH a poppy song, so I have to think that Paradise will be at least somewhat less straightforward.

I have a feeling that Paradise will be one of the songs with more subtle synth-works rather than a song with synths as the main driving force (i.e. ETiaW)

So just curious, if paradise is the "next" single,does that make ETIAW the first single?

I think it's a darker song, close to Violet Hill on the lyrics. I imagine a synth driven song but with a lot of guitar in it. A midtempo number I guess and I'm almost sure the name of the song is an irony.

Moving to Mars totally met my expectations, so I´ll give it a try with Paradise. It is described as a bold anthem, if I recall correctly? I predict then a slow beginning, followed by a crescendo (typical Coldplay), a lot of drums, epic Johnny solo and a very uplifting theme a la ETIAW and yes also strings! Why not :)

I expect it to sound divine. Nothing else.

After reading why they choose Paradise over Charlie Brown, I am very anxious to hear this one. Seems like it will be a classic.

Ok, my time to guess.

 

It'll start only with Chris's voice narrating something (a story, perhaps) with an echoey effect. Then, a very subtle guitar comes in. Chris starts to narrate the story with a bit of melody, half-speaking and half-singing. The guitar begins to grow, and at some point Chris sings "Ohhhhh" in a falsetto and then bass, drums and a little bit of synth come in, with a very space-filling sound like LiT but a somewhat dark theme. Chorus comes in and afterwards some more verses before all the instruments stop and only Chris continues to talk (much like the piano solo in Clocks). Then, they all come back again, there is a chorus, a guitar solo, the chorus again, and they start repeating a verse with the instruments stopping one by one: synth, guitar, drums and bass. In the end, Chris repeats two more times this verse acapella and the song ends.

 

Now come on, wouldn't that be AWESOME???

I have a feeling it might be a feel good song. Possibly a radio hit, like Viva? :wink3:

A lot of times in Coldplay songs and in music in general, the first 20 seconds usually makes or breaks a song for me. Charlie Brown won me over with the first 10 seconds. I expect Paradise to be Coldplay single material. Like ETIAW it will be a rock ANTHEM.

I Think that what Violet Hill was for Viva La Vida, Paradise is gonna be for MX.

 

I think this song not will be a super-monster song like Charlie brown (Even if they chose it over Charlie Brown)

But that this song is gonna give us a sample of what style MX is gonna be.

Actually it did not beaten CB, they said that they were sure to release CB as the new single, but they just want to do something which no one excpect.

 

I'm sceptical about the song now after hearing that part of the story.
