Paradise Live

Featured Replies

Okay, so now that we have seen a good quality version of Paradise live, what is everyones opinion? I personally thought it was a good song once I heard it, but I feel like seeing it live, it just comes across much better. I'd like to get everyones opinion that has seen the ACL stream, as I know there was a lot of division over the song this past week.

I agree. Very pleased how it played live.

Better live than in studio version imo, but I wasn't one of the few who disliked it before. I'm interested to see what the people who didn't like it thought about it afterwards.

less poppy

Piano driven

FANTASTIC!!!!

really good. loved it...agree it sounded less poppy and more like coldplay. not sure about the vocal back track that seemed to be there.

It's a lot better live than in studio. By miles.

I MISSED IT. I wanna see it :(

NVM. Found it :D

SOO much better than the studio version! Much more organic and sincere. Saying that I love the studio version so seeing this live was incredible! Gave me shivers everywhere :)

Sounds amazing.

So much better live. Hearing the piano throughout made me happy. I'll put the live version on my iPod. I'm glad I watched the stream tonight, it restored my faith in Coldplay. (And damn I always forget how good Politik is)

Ehh... kinda hard to judge from that video but I don't really like how it sounded. But it's probably just the crappy video quality.

Everyone knows I haven't been the biggest fan of Paradise but the studio version is far better than the live version. The live version sounds kind of.... flat. It certainly doesn't have that epic sound of the studio version because it would be hard to recreate live without using significant amount of playback. It also isn't helped by Chris Martin's pitchy vocals (is it me or is his live singing not as consistent as before?)

I literally just saw the live stream from Austin City Limits. Wonderful, as with any Coldplay performance. I loved "Paradise" from the moment I first heard the studio version, and I have a feeling it will end up being one of my favorite songs off MX. Can't wait to see it live in person!

My favourite part of the live performance is how both Chris and Will sing the chorus...

Yes it's better live but the "para para" bit still annoys the hell out of me.

I'm not going to go anywhere near saying that Paradise is my favorite song off of the new album. BUT, I will say that it sounded wonderful live! I liked the studio version, but hearing it live just confirmed the fact that it isn't such a crap song like some people think it is. It really soars, and it brings out more of the band as a whole. I'm excited for the rest of the album now! :D

It doesn't sound any better. The lyrics are still piss on toast and the instrumentation is significantly underwhelming.

ETIAW: 1

Paradise: 0

Agreed - at least ETIAW is fun live. Paradise? Not so much.
