I think everyone's perfectly aware that everything on the internet should be taken with a grain of salt, yet her website, interests, and location all point to the fact that she's not playing us. Let's just not be rude to someone who's being very nice to us by sharing.

This quote from her review here seems to indicate that MM is the same as the one released on the EP.

Also, remember she didn't write the review just for hardcore Coldplay fans like us. The typical music blog reader would have little to no knowledge of the new songs that haven't been released that we're already really familiar with (like Major Minus and UATW). Hell, I'd bet not many Coldplay fans know about them... not all fans are as involved as people on this forum.

However I have to say that I already knew everything you said even though I was not at the listening party.

I'll give you the benefice of the doubt even though as a hardcore fan I'd expect you to remember the difference between UFO and AHT. I know I would and many people here would remember that too. Also most of your blog entry is focused on songs that we've already heard and your review say very little (and only things discussed on this forum) about the unheard songs.

Now only time will tell if this is BS or a genuine gesture from you.

I really don't want to come across as being ungrateful or rude, and you're obviously a great writer—but I'm leaning more towards this being fake now based solely on the fact that Mylo Xyloto is a full track with lyrics and this is confirmed. Since you remembered enough about it to talk about it in your review, you would notably have mentioned how it is different to the 40 second prelude we have been enlightened with this summer, however, you go on to say how it is the same as we have been given, which, as we know, it isn't. At all. Again forgive me if you feel like I'm out of line. I just want to sit on the fence. Also, if it turns out I am wrong and you are right, I will donate an old pair of shoes to charity. I feel this is a fair trade. :P

I hope it answers most of the questions you have. Since I'm posting this for my website, I reviewed all the songs, not just the ones you all haven't heard. I took my notes on Friday night, not during the party as we weren't allowed to take anything in. As for instrumentals, there are at least 2, possibly 3, and they are very short.

 

Another note: Paradise and ETIAW are not completely representative of the album. I mean, think about it: you've heard more than half the album already right?

Up-tempo is a word that always reminds me of shitty kitschy Eurovision songs. That's not good. I appreciate the review, but it didn't particularly alter my expectations and it lowered my hopes a bit.

 

Also, please give her the benefit of the doubt. She wrote more about Parapara and ETIAW because she'd had the chance to listen to these songs a lot more times than the other ones. She's only heard the new songs we don't know about only once. Are you expecting a detailed review about that?

The things she told about the songs are nothing new, its just what we all expected the songs to be...
