i'm going!!!!!

i'm so excited; it'll be my first time seeing them on tour

(i saw them peform at the Today Show in October)

i'm still trying to snag some decent seats for East Rutherford show on Friday too

For Friday nothing decent seat wise. Just behind the stage or nosebleeds. Can't depend on getting an upgrade from a roadie.

Start Time for Izod Center on Aug 4th?

Taking my wife to the Aug 4th Izod Center show and we need to get a babysitter. I can't find any info online about what time Coldplay has been starting their shows. I also can't find anything about if they have an opening band. Ticket says 7pm show time. So I'm hoping you guys can help me out and let me know what time the shows have been actually starting and how long does Coldplay play for? Is there an opening band? Does anyone know the curfew at Izod? Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Easy boy. Coldplay starts at 9 PM. They will play for 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Doors usually open at 5:30 PM or 6:00 PM but that depends mostly on the venue.

First support act (Emeli Sande) starts at 7 PM.

Second support act (Marina and the Diamonds) starts at 8 PM.

have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

9-11pm would have been my guess. Your info is a big help!! Thanks so much for answering what was probably an easy question that made me look like the noobie I am. I appreciate it. I'll be recording the show and posting it on DIME shortly after for all to enjoy.

its been a long year but the day we all been waiting for is fast approaching!!! already been to the boston concert on sunday and it was a blast!!! heads up for those sitting in the back, for their encore in boston coldplay went to the back to perform a few songs. it was such a great thing for them to do. before the show starts id look for an open area that might have some security guard standing around there. i noticed it before the show but completely slipped my mind that coldplay usually does that for the fans. was about 20 feet away from them when they performed on the back stage:o

Anglophiles rejoice – the Olympics are in London and Coldplay is in the Meadowlands, on their first North American tour in almost three years.

TELL ME MORE: The emotive Britpop quartet of Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland, Will Champion and Chris Martin have enjoyed worldwide popularity since their hit single "Yellow" in 2000. They're on the road to promote their 2011 platinum album "Mylo Xyloto," which, aside from topping the charts in 34 countries and producing the Grammy-nominated singles "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" and "Paradise," is also the subject of a comic book (the first issue premiered last month at the San Diego Comic-Con; the full series will be released next year).

The show takes full advantage of its arena setting, according to reviews, which describe light-up wristbands provided to concertgoers, confetti cannons and balloon drops to accompany performances of songs such as "In My Place" and "Lovers in Japan."

The British rock band, formed in 1996, has sold more than 50 million records worldwide and has won six Grammy Awards, six Brit Awards and four MTV Video Music Awards.

DETAILS: Izod Center, 50 Route 120, East Rutherford. $46 to $111.50. 201-935-8500 or izodcenter.com.

Saturday, Aug. 4

Coldplay at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford at 7 p.m. ($57.50-$128.55; call 201-935-3900 for more information.) coldplay.com.

Why you should go: It's hard to remember a time when Coldplay wasn't played on every radio station all the time, but when the band formed in 1996, no one had any inkling they would become such an enormous sensation. They released three EPs before their single "Yellow" came out in 2000. It was followed by their first full-length, "Parachutes," which was nominated for a Mercury Prize, and then 2002's "A Rush of Blood to the Head," which is widely considered Coldplay's greatest work.
