April 17, 201412 yr No hate pls but I think coldplay might be ripping us off with new album. here are some reason (some opinion based): 1) 9 songs only. Parachutes was the lowest that had AT LEAST 10. X&Y had a whopping 14. 2) No song following the album name. Every album, "Parachutes" "X&Y" "A Rush of blood to the head" "Mylo Xyloto" "Viva La Vida (and death and all his friends)" Then KABOOM haha no "Ghost Story" song! Ok, sure, they have this "target special" version of the album that had "Ghost Story" but I want it part of the album for normal people to listen to! Why don't they screw this "exclusive album target thing" and then make All your friends and ghost story part of le album... Opinions ahead... Ok, magic is pretty good. Always in my head is ok. Anothrs arms is good but I get tired of it. A rush of blood to the head, GREAT song, clocks, amazing, "The world turned upside down" amazing, green eyes, amazing.. Am I just unlucky and the three songs they released I happen to not like? Cuz mylo xyolto wasn't as good as a rush of blood to the head but at least MX had paradise and ETDIAWF.. Pls help I'm worried about new album not much excite. :)

April 17, 201412 yr Coldplay themselves said the biggest problem with X&Y was it was too long. Also even though it'll be 9 songs it will still be the same length as MX, around the 45 min mark. These are songs, not blocks of cheese. There's no reason to feel ripped off for getting less. EDIT: No offense of course haha. Just MY opinion.

April 17, 201412 yr Quality doesn't necessarily mean quality though. Maybe this album just isn't for you? We don't love all their albums equally I think as MX isn't quite my favourite. Maybe they will grow on you and you haven't even heard the entire album yet so there is still hope the rest of the songs will knock your socks off.

MX technically had FOURTEEN songs but I'd take Parachutes (eleven if you include the bonus track) and A Rush of Blood to the Head (eleven as well) over it any day. Have you heard the Linkin Park album A Thousand Suns? It had FIFTEEN songs and is clear evidence that the number of songs has NOTHING to do with quality. I'd take 9 (8 excluding Magic) beautiful, deep, talent-showcasing songs over 15 unfinished, bumbling, displeasing ones. 2) That's what happens when you're owned by Universal unfortunately. Thankfully I'm sure they will still be on Youtube on other sites to at least listen to. I believe it's a means of promotion since Coldplay isn't super-hyping up this album like they did MX for example. (Besides, the UK and Japan often get bonus tracks and we never have here in the U.S., just saying...) 3a) If you think Paradise is better than Always in My Head, there are more concerns than just being ripped off here. 3b) I don't know why you listed only the singles and I do hope you listen to the whole albums, if not, you're missing out on gems like UwtB and UAtW which blow the songs you listed out of the water. 4) You only made 2 points and then started kind of rambling which kills the flow of what you were saying. Besides, we've only heard 4 out of 12 songs and many of the best songs on MX were the ones we didn't hear before the album came out- stay hopeful.
