I have yet to see A Sky Full Of Stars live....when I do, Ill implode of happiness! haha :) I cant wait :D

Ok my little video contribution to the Newplayer thread...I absolutely love this video and I cant for the life of me understand why Coldplay did not use it instead of walking around the aussie streets (nothing against the aussies streets haha but still I prefer the stars :)

I love this video, too, and even though I liked the lighter ones with the fans as well, I think the original one fit the themes of the Ghost Stories era much better with its heavier, blue-ish look and feelings.

One of the best things about Coldplay new era for me is just the colours !

This here was for me the best merchandise of the new era so far (along with the comics)...I wish we had gotten something along these lines also with AHFOD.

This package was just amazing and that pop-up! hehe

I do, I do, I do! I find it so beautiful and atmospheric. The moment when Chris breaks out into the yeah at 2:44 and Jonny's guitar takes over, the audience cheering - whoa, goosebumps every time! I always listen to this part with my headphones on really loudly (my poor ears). :dazzled:

Yeah me too ! It's such an awesome mix of Coldplay and Avicii

Yeah, Jonny often has a (fantastic) riff that keeps repeating itself all the time which sounds epic too !

You can hear when it's Jonny, that's why I love all his riffs:)

Am I the only one who thinks all the albums since Viva are mocer to listen to as a whole?

X&Y is kinda weird for me because it's supposedly space-themed yet it has songs like The Hardest Part and 'Til Kingdom Come which sound like they should be in another album. I think the newer ones flow alot better.

No you're not the only one. I have listened to Viva, MX, GS in their entirety more often than previous albums.

The reason for me is both the flow, the length and also the tracks. Parachutes is overall too slow for me but it has some outstanding tracks I listen often. A Rush has even more outstanding tracks but it also has some "fillers" for me. X&Y has many great tracks and some of the best soundscapes but it's too long and again it has some fillers.

From Viva I feel they found the right combo both in choosing tracks, the length and variation in mood. MX for example is also long but it varies enough that it keeps my attention til the last track.

So far I think AHFOD shows the culmination of their refining the album to make it as best as possible as a whole.

You took the words right out of my mouth:)

Thought this might be the best thread to post this...

Im listening to Parachutes again from beginning to end. And I must say I love Shiver, it has such a great melody but am I the only one thinking the lyrics are truly pathetic? *LOL* Totally understandable as Chris was a young lad when he wrote them hehe We´ve all been there haha But as a grown man listening to this I just cant relate at all...dont get me wrong I love women and for my woman I´d do anything, but this song is just pretty pathetic with all the "waiting in line", "waiting to see if you care" stuff haha

Truly a teenager/young young man song...I used to relate, but not anymore. Am I the only one thinking this song´s lyrics are obsolete?

You're in a safe place to say so! This is truly a song for teenagers maybe this is the reason they don't play it now. But as you say, the melody is so good the band did a great job. Each one adds their unique sound with their instruments that makes this song especial.

especial.

You almost made it :p

?

You broke into Spanish at the end...was that intentional?

I thought it had the same spelling lol plus I wasn't paying attention when I wrote it I usually write Special. Where is autocorrect when you need it more??? Lol

Haha well I was more thinking that new players might be the best ones to relate to my post. I was not afraid of being attacked. However I'd like to add I would like this all forum to be safe! So people can be respectful to each other. Whatever criticism one has can be voiced with respect imo.

And yes I can't imagine Chris being able to play this now and mean it lol I have a few similar songs in my catalogue from my teen years I can't sing anymore , only for nostalgia sake hehe

Loool autocorrect is both your best friend and your worst enemy haha

And I may have understood your Spanish. I speak Italian, some elements tend to be similar :)

Hopefully we'll improve the way we express our opinions. There's no need to say disrespectful things about what other members are saying.
