The Offical "The Killers" Thread

Featured Replies

We popped this CD into the disc changer at work (I worked in a music store), and I was instantly taken by a few of the songs, specifically "This Is the World We Live In" and "Joyride." Those songs made me dance and called to mind the glam era of music and all kinds of fun. I really enjoyed listening to it a lot and ended up buying it because it's fun dancing/good mood music.

That being said, I admit red-faced that I'd not been familiar with the Killers from before, except for their "Bones" song (more so because the video was fantastic). Probably if I knew them from before, I would agree more with you guys on the quality of it, but as an introduction to them, I found it to be fun dancing music, light, energetic. But that's just me :D

Hey guys anyone trully dissapointed with their NEW MATERIAL? Only got some killer tracks some are plain BLAND.....IMO..:dozey:

This is the set list from one of The Killers first shows supporting Day and Age. I guess they strayed from the set list a bit, but it gives you an idea as to what you can expect. If you ask me, I think it is a kick ass set list:

SPACEMAN

HUMAN

LOSING TOUCH

REASONS

SOMEBODY

SMILE

THIS IS YOUR LIFE

JOYRIDE

I CAN'T STAY

DUSTLAND

ON TOP

WORLD WE LIVE IN

NEON TIGER

READ MY MIND

BRIGHTSIDE

ALL THESE THINGS

ENCORE:

SWEET TALK

JENNY

WHEN YOU WERE YOUNG

That is awesome. Exitlude, Sam's Town, and Romeo & Juliet would've made it even better, though!

I have been addicted to "Read My Mind" the last two days... such a good song!!

THIS ALBUM IS A JOKE. PURE TRASH

^ Not in my opinion. I love Day and Age.

Over a month ago, I waltzed into this thread saying how I was disappointed in the album and how "Human" had to grow on me for a while. Turns out, the majority of the songs on Day & Age are indeed lengthy growers. I'm now much more keen on A Dustland Fairytale, I Can't Stay, and especially Spaceman, which has become a new favorite.

Not every song has grown on me (still dislike Joy Ride and Goodnight, Travel Well), but I can consider most of the album a good listen now. Not sure I'd like to see The Killers continue on this path, but I can certainly live with Day & Age being a fine "experiment".

I love The Killers. Spaceman is my favorite on the new album. Also, I'm kind of sick of Human because I hear it about 30 times a day at work and I'm over it now. Their best album I think is "Hot Fuss"

i like all of their albums but each for a different reason.

Spaceman comes on the radio alot now and I dont like it anymore. Only track I liked was Spaceman, but now its annoying.

Hot fuss kills everything they've done and will do ever!! Its too good!!

I like Hot Fuss, and I think Day & Age is a worthy competitor... I actually don't know which album I like better. Hot Fuss had such epic numbers like Mr Brightside and the legendary All These Things That I've Done (which I don't think they'll ever outdo)... But Day & Age has Losing Touch, Spaceman, and Dustland Fairytale. I don't know, but I think Day & Age is definitley more... diverse. They use all sorts of instruments and the songs are less predictable.

I have been listening to Neon Tiger, Losing Touch, and Dustland Fairytale recently.

yeah neon tiger is one of the only songs i was able to salvage from day and age. i like spaceman too but everything else is just kinda blahhh. i'm still really upset i dont have tickets to their show in boston next week... their concerts are a really good time.

There was a concert here a few weeks ago, but I only found out about it on the afternoon of the concert, and my mom wouldn't let me go. :disappointed: They're having another one pretty close to where I live on April 19th, though... pre-sales are this weekend, so hopefully I can convince my mom to buy me tickets for my birthday.

The Killers are one of the best live acts I've ever seen...

You should definitely go! I was like third row for their Warfield show back in December and it was absolutely great. I had seen them the night before at Night So Silent Night, but seeing them from the other side of a huge arena doesn't really do them justice. Really glad I got to see them up close and personal--definitely a worthwhile experience. And as much as anyone hates on their album stuff, their live performances absolutely bring down the house.

Oh, awesome! I'm really hoping I'll be able to go. Yeah, the Warfield one was the one I wanted to go to, but I didn't find out until Friday afternoon.

Yeah, their live performances stand on their own, seperate from the album stuff....especially in small venues!

Ok, I know I've got a shot in hell, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Anyone got tickets for tomorrow's show at MSG that they're willing to part with??? I'm dyyying to go, but can't afford crazy ebay prices.:\ Keep checking ticketmaster to see if they'll release any more tix at last minute, but so far no luck.

Anyone?:uhoh: <crossing my fingers, my toes, my eyes>

Just got tix for Camden!
