It´s not. We come from Feels like... and before that we got My Universe and Higher Power. Personally, I´ve have enough of "summer pop songs", because it´s not just that, it´s the style they´re in now. Again, I respect all tastes, but this is not everything they´re capable of.

Also, I don´t understand the high hopes for All my love, it´s a very ordinary song and if you compare it to any of the ballads they´ve done over the years, it´s absolutely forgettable.

Wow..all my love is oldplay in its prime, reminds me chords progression of Everything's not lost in a way, some other songs they played in the past like Harmless, and cant quite put my finger on it but there are others that have the same vein. If we compare to other recent ballads like everglow, its waaay better, it doenst just repeat the verses and the chrous in a generic way, the voice melodies does not copy the piano melody, Chris voice alternates between screaming out loud and use a falsetto in a beautiful old play way, it has piano little Bridge that sounds very nice, And yeah Chris is singing in a way that reminds me of some prime coldplay stuff, like the hardest part from leftrightleftright, and you say its forgettable...yeah..I think its Just a matter of taste cos I cant see this song not being oldplay style at all, I dont know what exactly are you looking for from them. And about having a new pop song on a pop tour...yeah I think is very fine, it would be way worse if they did something like that in EL era for example. And again they are not in the pop style like you said I think, one or 2 pop songs doesnt make the album overall colouful and pop, I could never see a song like neon forest in ahfod, mots, mylo and even GS, so they are mixing things better this time around and I bet that with the record this will become a lot clear.

Did a quick mix of iAAM, with Chris and the piano from the acoustic version and G+J+W from the album mix. It feels more Viva-ish to me this way.  Coldplay - I am a Mountain (classicplay mix).

I feel like the only thing that can save this album for me is the soundchecked song, it honestly sounded better than everything else we've officially heard.

In an alternative universe, I like to imagine an album with this tracklist:

1. Everyday Life (Demo version)

2. Famous Old Painters (EL version)

3. The Only One

4. Neon Forest

5. Tomorrow

6. Weirdo (EL version)

7. Broken (demo version)

8. Treasure

9. The Race (AHFOD version)

10. Unknown Sound checked song

Luckily I can make an actual playlist like that and pretend it's real in my delusional world lol.

I did that a few weeks ago, assembling a track list out of the leaks and demos we've had lately.

Mine isn't an alternate Moon Music track list though, it would be a separate album. I've also thrown in Lhuna to give it a proper release, and The Race would probably be a new version combining elements of the main leaked versions to create a 'definitive' version. I also gave Broken and Everyday Life subtitles like Miracles (Someone Special) to help differentiate them from the EL versions.

I've definitely downgraded my cautious optimism to a wait and see attitude.

I think Good Feelings could be my favorite Coldplay "pop" single since Adventure of a Lifetime -- it's really well produced and has an incredible groove. We Pray sounds really awesome as well, though it's pretty short and I worry the final production may cut out some of the guitar. I absolutely loved the version of One World they did way back when, and I hope that's a longer string track. But with all that said, there's also FLIFL and All My Love which are just middling to me, though we'll see if the All My Love has a better final version.

I will say that people often debate production and mixing, which is a matter of taste. I'm more concerned about songwriting right now. Ever single song from the album we've heard so far (save One World) has  had a "la la la la la" part. Each song has always been relatively short and very repetitive with unspecific lyrics with We Pray being the best so far. I worry that Moon Music is going to be too much of a mish mash of sounds, genres, features and lyrics, just like MOTS, to constitute an album vs a playlist. And the fact that they are releasing more demos is exciting, but also worrying because I can gaurentee each one of us will have our own song that we'd prefer be on the final tracklisting to make the album better.

BUT we have to wait and see y'all. We've had maybe half the album's runtime released, so the gaps could really improve things with transitions and more interesting written songs.

Thanks for mentioning Broken as I’ve realized I had completely missed that leak.

God that demo is incredible.

Which one is Lhuna? I must have missed something or just didn't know the name of a song I may have heard.

I don't understand the hate for Moon Music, but maybe that's because I only got into the boys right around when Everyday Life released.

How could anyone hate it? Nobody has heard it yet!

Thank you for saying that about All my Love, sometimes it seems here that they played the new Scientist or Fix You and I was the only one not noticing. And I absolutely agree about the lalala, not necesarely making a song good or bad, but it does make it simpler, and obviously doesn´t say too good things about the songwriting.

Lhuna isn't a leak, it was a single recorded with Kylie Minogue that was released in 2008, although it had a very limited release. It used to be on iTunes but it's long gone, but it is still possible to get high quality versions of it if you ask around. I uploaded the song to my own YouTube channel, which as far as I'm aware is the highest quality version on the site. The song is strikingly similar to Skyfall by Adele; I even made a version of the film's intro to use Lhuna and it's quite a good fit.

It´s not a great-great song, but I really loved it at that time, the ambient and Chris holding his horses. It was beautiful.

Llalalalaa are done for live performances settings

I mean Coldplay are the band who did OOOOOOOOOOs a lot so what's wrong with Lalalas

It’s far too easy of an argument to defend their use in FLIFIL.

How are the lalalalas during the verses are supposed to benefit the song even in a live setting? They’re not anthemic or whatever and certainly do not make the song more of an anthem.

This just reflects laziness in songwriting more than anything else.

I dont like it also

Specially at the last part of the song, its too much.

So what is afilmforthefuture? They just released a trailer for another music video of feelslikeimfallinginlove called the afilmforthefuture version. I thought afilmforthefuture was supposed to be the 11th musical album but now i am kind of Lost!

Perhaps they repurposed FFTF2024 meaning to fit with Moon Music because they delayed their original plans maybe it's not related to the musical after all or maybe they will use those animated videos as a teaser for the movie idk

it's probably an animated version of moon music? with all songs featured? we already got an extract with one world, now I guess we are a just getting a new extract where flifil is featured.

unless it's a way to finally present this project, otherwise I would stop promoting flifil and release a video for we pray instead

It´s all about taste and opinions, and maybe the last decade gives another perspective of their current direction. I thought Good Feelings would be more than a poppy summer thing, and the final part with the "lalalas" are kind of embarrasing for me. The fact that there are screen images of Ayra Starr means the video for the song is ready to go.

2nd Single incoming? 👀

I understand some lalala or ohhh at the end of some songs (VLV or With or Without you are clear examples of this), but overusing this resource is too simple, too lazy, If the song is good enough it shouldn´t need that so much, I guess.

Good Feelings iirc is single two now, sorry about my previous posts about All My Love being the single, was just speculation from all the info I had from Warner (AML was submitted at the same time as flifil). They even recorded the MV last night in Roma.

Either way, we have a list of singles now

feelslikeimfallinginlove

Good Feelings

All My Love

We Pray

Why you know that?

feelslikeimfallinginlove is already out

As m4racide posted above, a video for Good Feelings has been filmed

The Sun reported a video for We Pray starring Little Simz was filmed a few months ago (before flifil apparently)

Warner Music database lists All My Love as an upcoming single in September.

Ok thanks. I am very excited about All my love.

You think that? The band literally said that it is done for the live setting
