  1. Yep, its barely working.
  2. I have to say that this track reminded me of U2 instantly, and I've always hated the U2 comparisons, I never really understood them to be honest. I don't believe they really sounded much like them in the past, as I don't particularly care for U2, but when I heard this track the likeness seemed undeniable.
  3. Thats not the first time either, the other night we were flipping channels and Viva La Vida started blaring, and it was that damn show. Me and my siblings all burst out with a groan at the exact same time. Our parents didn't know what was going on lol. Add it to the list of reason why I hate MTV
  4. OMG lol.:shocked2:
  5. lol my brother got me hooked on these a few months ago. Good stuff.
  6. I love X&Y. I do think it was different than the first two albums and that they took several steps forward and in new directions, and I listen to it all the way through all the time. Unfortunately for me Viva La Vida is my least favorite venture from the band thus far, but I still think its a decent piece of work. I just feel they took some of the aspects I enjoyed most about the band and eliminated them, and in there place have a sound far closer to that of U2 and Arcade Fire, neither of which I'm a big fan of. So I guess in my opinion in a lot of ways this new record seems less adventurous & more conforming to current music trends than X&Y, so to each their own.
  7. I've never had a standing ticket to a Coldplay show but are you telling me just 7 or 8 hours will get you close to the front? Every band I've ever had a standing ticket for was a 24 hour minimum wait in line to be anywhere near the front. Not that I ever did it, sleeping out side is not for me, but wow 7 or 8 hours would be doable. Too bad I live in America where big shows are generally seated.
  8. I don't care for the costume idea in general, so I voted away with them. They felt a bit more organic even when they were all in black, as the clothes were at least normal. But I have to say that if costumes are what it takes for them to feel comfortable right now than I'm fine with it, seeing as their so damn talented. That is as long as the outfits don't get any weirder from here on out.
  9. I've never seen anyone in my life who resembled one of them until last week, in my biology class. Dudes a dead ringer for guy in his fro days lol.
  10. I have to agree. I've never seen someone so consistent in winding up the media, and yet they take every thing he says as if its bible authority.
  11. I discovered this about a week ago at like three in the morning. It just might be the best performance from Jonny ever lol.
  12. That is hilarious somebody should get some people together and do that.
  13. "2005 saw what may very well be Coldplay's only misstep in ten years. "X&Y" was Coldplay's way of creating more mainstream music and while it was successful commercially, it lacked in many ways and for a while it seemed as though the band had traded itself in to please the masses." I completely disagree with that bit. I find X&Y quite brilliant, and prefer it to Viva La Vida myself.
  14. Season 2 was definitely the best, but I'm still so excited for the premier!!! Looking forward to this show every week helps me get through my drudgery filled classes.
  15. meh I don't really see that coming off that well live.
  16. lol, thats pretty cool.
  17. Yep I went to my show not planning on getting a program, because to be honest most concert programs are a rip off. But someone was kind enough to show me theirs, and I went right up and bought one for myself and two more for my siblings who came along. They were really, really well done.
  18. Well that was delightful lol.
  19. I don't expect any b-side in the near future, as they seem to have decided on a new marketing strategy: sell them all at once as an EP. Its kind of annoying as I always thought in the past Coldplay gave the most for you dollar as their singles generally contained not even just one but often multiple b-sides. But times are a changing, whats to be done.
  20. To be honest I'm surprised they've been as successful as they have here. Lets face it in America its not popular to be a good band. They (and by they I mean the music industry) want sugary processed dancing in scantily clad crap in pretty disposable packages, and coldplay has never been that. I think the album sales speak for themselves in terms of what people want and MTV can just go to hell.
  21. To me its not a change in his accent I hear in interviews etc, its a change in the way he carries himself, if that makes any sense. Let me try to explain. Lots of young guys I know act and talk the way he used to in interviews. Kinda slurry and difficult to understand, usually because they don't have too much confidence in themselves and are not used to being asked to put their thoughts into words, so frankly they can be bad at it. Now in interviews its not that Chris says a great deal more or talks with a new accent, just that what he does say is said more loud and clear, as he's learned the game a bit more. Thats always been my take on it at least. As his accent seems as strong as the other three's. As for his singing, yes its changed a little, both in sound and style. But with age thats going to happen a bit. I think its highlighted this time by the change in technique on this new record, a change I don't think he's particularly great at transferring live, but hey its his choice to try and sing lower. And everyone else is right too, with all the running around he does the vocal parts are going to suffer in concert, but we all like watching him, so what are you gonna do lol.
  22. Very amusing. Though the two of them together sound a bit like a psychiatrists dream lol.
  23. This is odd, there are less special effects in this video, than any video they've ever done. Though I have to say I don't think their videos since the parachute days have been particularly special effects laden anyway. hmmm... odd.
  24. Smart People = 5/10 The Dark Knight = 9/10
