a website called Pithforkmedia.com (music reviews) did a review of the track SOS.. they guy totaly bashed the lyrics and did a Clock's reference... humm even if I like SOS...I agree a portion of the review.. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but flattery can come off as insincere-- so what does it mean if you imitate yourself? Well, in Coldplay's case, it means a guaranteed reservation in singles charts all across the world. On "Speed of Sound", the Chris Martin Experience take the pretty ditzy melody and motion of one of their most popular songs (that'd be "Clocks") and do a little Vanilla Ice pressurizing. Then they top it with pretty ditzy talk about…

I've been telling my friends for ages now that when Coldplay come back with new music they're going to be on top of the world. With all the hype thats been going on lately and with SoS hitting #1 on iTunes and the CD itself still to come out, I think I was right  Haha, they'll be hearing more of me lol I only hope they don't get so big that its almost impossible to get tickets to a show  ! Speaking of that, WTF's going on with the presale. Debs hasn't announced any more in sooooo long!

...The whirlwind of activity actually began last weekend, when Coldplay holed up on a Los Angeles soundstage to shoot a video for X&Y's the first single, "Speed of Sound." Details were hard to come by, but it is known that the clip was helmed by Mark Romanek, famous for stark videos like Jay-Z's "99 Problems" and Johnny Cash's "Hurt," and shooting took place on several large sets equipped with huge LED light displays. Has anybody watched the intro video on the Coldplayer? Chris blatantly says that this first single, Speed of Sound, is supposed to be a bridge between Rush of Blood and the new album. I wasn't expecting anything that sounded too incredibly different, given what he had said. I think it serves it's purpose wonderfully. It's a great bridge and a great track.

As suspected, I was not the only one who noticed a resemblance between Clocks and Speed of Sound; after all, this single *is* supposed to represent the path, or bridge, leading from AROBTTH and heading towards X&Y. Failing to discover a proper mixdown of the two, I took matters into my own hands. Clocks and Speed of Sound are in the keys of D# and A, respectively, with the musical average a perfect C. In this mix, both tracks were transposed to C, and the tempo for both is synchronized somewhere close to the original tempo of Clocks. Clocks plays in the left channel and Speed of Sound in the right, so be sure both of your speakers are connected (wear headphones for…
