As lots of other people have done it I'm just posting to tell people to check out my music too! If you like bands from say Coldplay, Snow Patrol to Oasis, The Beatles etc then you may like my sound. Some of you may have already heard some as I'm on the Coldplaying Charity Club CD and I'm on their Myspace page, but my own Myspace page is linked below and I'm on Itunes too, the songs on the Coldplaying CD (and Itunes) were recorded at a proper studio with a producer, as the last song on my Myspace is, but the rest are home demos so a lot rougher but newer and better songs I think! So anyway if you have a spare few minutes (most of the songs are quite short :) then cli…

Time to introduce you to Cherry Ghost, one of my favourite new bands. From Channel 4: UK indie band, Cherry Ghost, based around singer-songwriter Simon Aldred, took their name from a line in the Wilco track "Theologians". Taking their cue from the atmospheric alt-country of Smog, Sparklehorse and the aforementioned Wilco, the band was snapped up my Heavenly Records in the UK. Their debut single, "Mathematics", displayed an affinity with the downbeat anthems of Coldplay, and paved the way for the top 30 follow-up "People Help The People". Their debut full-length, Thirst For Romance, was one of the most eagerly anticipated debuts of 2007. CHERRY GHOST - Thirst For Ro…

I recently (three hours ago :D) discovered this band, and I'm so happy I did. The band's debut LP, Dead Calm Horizon is being given away for FREE at http://www.ketchharbourwolves.com/ I hope you guys give this band a listen and you might like it! I read somewhere that this band is being compared to The National and Interpol. Good bands to be associated with! However, I am yet to form a conclusive opinion whether Ketch Harbour Wolves' music is similar to those bands. My first impression, though, is that it sounds a bit like a more folksy The National. The vocals are awesome! Myspace: http://myspace.com/ketchharbourwolves

Hey all, I'm just wondering whether Radiohead are good live? Also, is there a site/interview or something that goes into detail over what each band member plays and how they all contribute to the music?? I'm especially interested in the 3 guitars etc. Also, Radiohead are touring right? What are the chances they'll come to Australia?? Lots of questions. Give me your opinions on the live question.

This is my debut album, I really have no musical talent or background knowledge of how to use any instruments, but recently bought a synthesizer and this is the result of three months trying to learn how to put beats and sounds together into listenable music. I would really appreciate it if you took a few minutes to hear some of the preview clips, rate my songs or leave some comments on my artist page. If you really dig the sounds, please download the full 50 minute album for only $5.99. It even comes with the artwork and some pictures of me making the album. If sales go well and I get some encouraging comments, then I will be very pleased to make a second album. If you t…

I saw Narration for the first time a year ago at Water Rats in London, and i can't get enough of them. They are amazing live, and the tracks on their MySpace are soooooo good. Please please please have a listen to them if you can. More people need to hear about them (they're unsigned). I've spoken to the guys a few times and they're all really nice. I asked, and apparently Coldplay are one of their biggest influences. http://www.myspace.com/narrationmusic Let me know what you think of them! Lamorna x

There are too many good ones but just as many terrible ones that when reflecting on it, make me cringe that I was into that at the time, though it's best to laugh about it  Afterall, the following generations may just be saying the same about today's music (not Coldplay of course, they're timeless, and as Chris said himself "maybe I'm biased, but I'm definitely right" :smug: So what are your favorite or the most classic, or even your favorite classic 90s songs? From off the top of my head (meaning this will definitely change lol), I reckon my top 5 favorites in no particular order are: Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody RHCP - Californication or Under the Bridge …

Yay! The first non-Coldplay religion! (I think) I dedicate an entire thread to the man who explores the darkest deepest thoughts that dwell in all our minds. To the man who has no shortage of things to say and observe about the world. To one of the most gifted musical geniuses of our time. This one's for you Thom Yorke!

Outrage as Britney Spears' toddler plays with cigarettes as smoking singer watches on By Daily Mail Reporter Last updated at 1:56 PM on 30th July 2008 Comments (84) Add to My Stories Britney Spears' parenting skills have come under fire yet again after photographs emerged showing the star smoking in front of her son as he plays with a packet of cigarettes. The singer, branded 'Puff Mommy' by the American press, eventually takes the Marlboro Lights and a lighter from the two-year-old's hands, but continues to subject him to second-hand smoke. I remember hearing the song quite a bit in (I believe) the summer of 2004 but it may have been 2003 on an alternative radio station here in the Metro Detroit area in the U.S.. on 89xradio.com The Stills "Still in Love Song" came out on the "Logic Will Break Your Heart" album in October of 2003 and I remember the two getting airplay at the same time and thinking that they are similar. It has a steady drum beat throughout most of the song and I was reminded of it when I heard the chorus on Newton Faulkner's "Dream Catch Me" The vocals and the way the guitar stops and then starts again. Especially in the first chorus (between 1:14 and 1:25) http://youtube.com/watch…

Have age and stress launched a shocking attack on Madonna's face? By David Wilkes Last updated at 11:54 AM on 28th July 2008 Comments (13) Add to My Stories Dressed up to the nines and wearing plenty of make-up, Madonna still manages to look pretty sensational for a woman rapidly approaching her half century. But bare-faced and in short sleeves, she reveals some of the gruelling health and beauty regime behind the glamour. Madonna, seen holding hands with her daughter Lourdes as they left a Kabbalah centre in New York, wore a T-shirt which exposed the veins standing out on arms subjected to endless workouts.
