I used to be a BIG Ben Folds Five fan... I think Ben Folds is immensely talented and I loved their style of music and the fun that went with it. I had their first two albums, saw them live in manchester in 96, didnt get the one about the army and havent yet got his solo album. So imagine my suprise when in HMV on Friday I spotted a NEW Ben Folds Live album! Apart from the fact that it had a free live DVD in the box too (which is amazing! his rendition of Elton's Private Dancer - one of my favourite songs ever is awsome!), there is a live cd with 17 tracks spanning mostly his more recent material - well what did i think of it - ITS AMAZING!!! Why oh why did i not get …

Now I have got your attention: Roll Up, Roll Up, Roll out the shock parade, Free falling from a stage, Performance and Cocktails and Roll up and shine Yes, the 2nd most evil game has returned, where you get 40 short clips of introductions to 40 songs, some well-known, some not-so-well-known and some bloody hard. This time there are 40 songs to guess, and it’s a community game, so help each other out to try to win the ‘big’ prize. What to do Download the zip file from either Rapidshare Sendspace Or maybe Megaupload And guess away. Good Luck :) Disclaimer – The ‘Big’ Prize is a pair of tickets to see Man Utd at this year's FA Cu…

In preparation for their new album coming out in October (via a self release), The Secret Machines have posted a non-album track online for all to enjoy. I just heard it, and man, it's a killer track! It's classic Secret Machines. Here's some more info about it: I'm really excited to hear the new album now. It sounds like the band didn't lose any steam after Ben left.

Finally Death Cab For Cutie's new album, Narrow Stairs, leaked on the internet (Like I hope Viva La Vida will very soon). After hearing the album, I think it is not the half better than 2005's Plans. What do you think?

Hi folks! After "You & Me" I've just finished a first demo of another song which was inspired by Coldplay. The song is called "Honesty (is what we don't need now). You can listen to it here: http://www.kara-moon.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=2058.0;attach=1990 Please let me know what you think. :) Has the ending been taken from another Coldplay song or does it just remind me of something? http://www.myspace.com/talvinjones

I've loved Evan & Jaron since Crazy For This Girl was popular back in the early 2000s. They're working on a new project right now called 52 Sundays (where they release a new song every sunday for a year.) I've already bought 31 of the 47 new tracks currently available, and they're awesome; very catchy and melodic. One song even sounds like Michael Jackson. :laugh3: Anyway, any other Evan & Jaron fans on here?

Im surprised that there hasnt been a thread started about The Faint already. Probably one of the best bands out of Omaha, Nebraska (granted Im not sure I know of others from there). You can hear some of their songs on their website and a video of "The Geeks Are Right" (one of the most catchiest songs!). And also be sure to listen to "Worked Up So Sexual" - which is just hot and sexy! and will guarantee to have you dancing! http://www.thefaint.com They put on one hell of a show. They just finished up their tour and I believe are headed to the UK. They are so worth seeing. A friend describes them as dance-punk which is probably a pretty good description of them. Their a…

I really LOVE this record,i suggest y'all to check out this awesome band Limbo, Panto, the debut album from Leeds based, Kendal born four-piece Wild Beasts, is a collection of ten beautiful, eccentric, very British tales. It is also likely to be the most unique album you will hear this year. Recorded in Malmo, Sweden with producer Tore Johannson, the album features Hayden Thorpe on guitar and lead vocals, Tom Fleming on bass and backing vocals, Ben Little on lead guitar and Chris Talbot on drums. Limbo, Panto is a confident record brimming with the band’s sense of purpose, showcasing their pop sensibility as well as their humorous side. The first single from the alb…

With the shift in sound from Coldplay on the new album, and now Keane (radically) and Travis. Even Sigur Ros have gone for a different sound and Athlete on their two non-album tracks from the new single . What of the forthcoming U2, Snow Patrol and Embrace? Is this the end of countless Coldplay imitations and the beginning of everyone finding their own groove. Will be interesting to hear and see. Keane have so far been very brave, very retro. Will Eno make another radical U2 album like Unforgettable Fire and Zooropa? The year of living dangerously.

As CD sales plummet and artists desert their music companies, new ways of doing business are the key to survival, writes Bernard Zuel. The music industry may or may not be dying but some parts of it are looking decidedly unwell. Take EMI. Please. Anyone? Late last month the Australian arm of the once giant record company, international home of the Beatles, Pink Floyd and Robbie Williams, lost its managing director and a stable of bands on which it had built its Australian success, within a week. First, the company announced that its managing director, John O'Donnell, was to leave, joining several senior managers and even more staff from the Mosman head office who…
