I was watching the Refused documentary "Refused Are Fucking Dead" the other day and it got me really interested in bands that are going through internal battles and struggling to keep themselves together. I was hoping some people could recommend some other good ones to check out? Doesn't matter what bands, it's the content itself I'm interested in. Here's a few examples of what I'm lookin for. Refused Are F*cking Dead [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3M8V_ryCQrU]YouTube - Refused Are Fucking Dead Part 1[/ame] Rock Bottom (new TV show, not on yet) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YF6VEwa9JR0]YouTube - Rock Bottom - Premieres Oct 7th at 11pm/10c on FUSE[/am…

By Alison Wenham Saturday, 4 October 2008 Autumn used to be a bumper time for the record industry, with the big guns lined up to fill the shelves of every high street between now and Christmas. Up to 60 per cent of the industry's annual sales would be forced through a pressure cooker of frenzied activity to sell as much as could be manufactured, distributed and sold in the precious 12 weeks up to Christmas. Guessing the Christmas number one is a great British institution. But we seem recently to have lost touch with the seasons, and not just in the record industry. Our internal barometer is collectively out of synch; our feet have lost their rhythm. For as long…

This is a really great band. Their album Keep Color is rediculously good. These are my two favorites off the album. The first single Buildings and Mountains is amazing. Here is the Youtube link The second song is Feelin' The Future and is my favorite off the album. You must hear this song. Just push the play button on the page. Give this song time to develop. The chorus is rich, lush and grand. I hope you enjoy:-) http://hypem.com/track/587530/Republic+Tigers-Feelin%27+The+Future

Ever wonder where unreleased music comes from? Perhaps you're on the Internet, shifting from window to window, wandering aimlessly through procrastination with an IMEEM playlist in the background. Suddenly, when the next song from your favorite album fades in and you realize something: you've already bought the album of the artist this unrecognized song claims to be a part of. To get to the bottom of this mystery you decide to do a few Google and Yahoo! Answer searches to find that the song has been a refugee in a foreign playlist camp since the album's release date. After days, weeks even, of forced listening, and after elaborate escapes through the interhighway, …

Macca vs Heather: Sir Paul has the last (angry) word on new album with thinly-veiled lyrics By Richard Simpson Last updated at 11:26 AM on 03rd October 2008 Comments (12) Add to My Stories For two stormy years, he kept his cool through the most bitter and high-profile divorce in recent history. But it seems Sir Paul McCartney is at last getting the chance to air his grievances about the breakdown of his marriage to Heather Mills. He has recorded an album under the pseudonym The Fireman, and Miss Mills has emerged as the thinly-veiled target of its lyrics. Before the bitterness: The couple in LA in 2002 - Macca has hit out at Heath…

Stop picking on me! Girls Aloud's Nicola speaks out against 'bully' Chris Moyles By Daily Mail Reporter Last updated at 7:02 AM on 01st October 2008 Comments (209) Add to My Stories Girls Aloud's Nicola Roberts has accused Radio One DJ Chris Moyles of bullying her after he constantly criticised her on air. Nicola told heat magazine: 'This argument doesn’t bother me any more. I’ve grown out of it – it’s six years old. 'His obsession with me needs to stop. I don’t care what he says about me, but what bothers me is that there are loads of people being bullied for the way they look or act – they are made to feel s*** about themselves because t…

Here is a lovely tale from the forest of hope. Right, he is a singer-songwriter originally from Cornwall, but moved to London, who writes the most beautiful lyrics and puts on a jolly good live show: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZxJDy9vxyqo http://youtube.com/watch?v=gM3n6woK6H4 Plus he does some rather wonderful drawings. So far he has released 2 albums, Feather & Stone in 2004 and Skybound in 2008, Feather & Stone was released by Sony, whom he left in 2006 after they tried to force him to change his sound "to get more sales" and restrict his creative output. And when I met him after his set on the Acoustic Stage, he was very down to earth, signing …

I've stolen this wonderful idea from an ateaser. So what? :P The whole point of this mixtape exchange is to exchange mixtapes. DUUUH! But the thing is - your partner who'll receive the mix won't know which songs are in it. He'll have to guess! Rules: 1. Sign up saying you want to participate 2. When the deadline for signing up is over, you'll get a PM saying who your partner is 3. You mustn't tell your partner that (s)he is your partner! :o 4. You make the mixtape and delete EVERY info about each song. 5. Upload the mixtape and send me the link. I will then send it to person assigned to you. 6. When you get your mixtape, you make a review and post it in this t…

Hey everyone, I'm not a regular poster here (though I may become one), and I wanted to share a band's music with you. They're an undiscovered band from California, called "War Stories". Though, while they're undiscovered, they're really good. They make catchy, soulful alternative rock, so I feel like it might suit some of you guys' interests. Here's a link to their only music video, for the song "Lion": [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecG_A7800V4]YouTube - War Stories - Lion[/ame] Or, check them out at: http://www.myspace.com/warstoriesmusic Seriously, they're amazing, and it'll only take a minute of your time.

Sarah Harding: My pain at being labelled the Girls Aloud 'slapper' By Daily Mail Reporter Last updated at 4:22 PM on 23rd September 2008 Comments (0) Add to My Stories She is one of the most lusted-after singers in pop, but Sarah Harding is fed up with her promiscuous reputation. The Girls Aloud singer is offended by the suggestion she sleeps around, claiming she's only had three long-term relationships. What's more, Harding has her future on the mind and is already planning marriage and a family with boyfriend DJ Tom Crane. 'I'm no slapper': Sarah Harding has dismissed her promiscuous reputation In an extract from Girls Aloud's upc…

Babies have a sense of rhythm, which could be used to help them develop By Daily Mail Reporter Last updated at 7:34 AM on 23rd September 2008 Comments (4) Add to My Stories Babies have a sense of rhythm from early on in life It will be months before they talk, walk or even sit up. But at just a day old, babies have a strong sense of rhythm, say researchers. Newborns are also sensitive to pitch and melody, they found. Experts said that introducing a child to music at an early age could enhance these innate musical abilities and also help them learn to talk. The fledgling musical talent was discovered by Hungarian researchers during a s…

Bling and buy - the 'crown jewels' of hip hop are set to go under the hammer for £1.6m By Daily Mail Reporter Last updated at 4:48 PM on 23rd September 2008 Comments (0) Add to My Stories It is chunky, clunky and associated with rap rather than refinement. But it seems the time has come for bling as New York auctioneers prepare to put a collection of 'hip hop's crown jewels' under the hammer. Jewellery in the auction comes from rap stars ranging from Missy Elliott and Kanye West to Tupac Shakur and Notorious BIG - both drive-by shooting victims. Whilst checking out the Coldplay news, found this info: New Kids on the Block Album: Greatest Hits (Columbia) In stores: Aug. 12 Why we care: You might think I have a cool job. The CDs. The concerts. The awesome hair. But there are hazards. For instance, on Nov. 2, I will be at the St. Pete Times Forum reviewing the New Kids on the Block reunion show. And I will be surrounded by a phalanx of screaming 31-year-old women who would gladly stab a music critic to get to Jordan Knight. Like I said: hazards. Why we like it: I was a dork in 1988 for myriad reasons. But I'm proud to say one of those reasons was not for liking NKOTB, the boy band that sold 70-million…
