If there's a thread like this, please reply so to this thread. Anyway, I think there should be a thread to recommend music from a certain band, genre, etc. Sort of like : State your request or something you want other coldplayers to recommend you to, and then the others can answer if they want to. Or any way you want it to be, whatever. Let me start. I need recommendations on the best Placebo album to get. Anyone?

You know, there are a lot of things that sicken me on this forum, but you know what sickens me the most? Not having a place to post pictures of Kathryn Calder. If you haven't heard of her, it's no surprise, as she's basically the overlooked child in The New Pornographers who occasionally fills in for Neko Case during live shows when Neko is off with her solo touring. Recently, she's been given lead vocals on a few songs. Oh, and she's also Carl Newman's niece, which I guess is pretty cool (although I'd never want to be in a band with my uncle). Neko, Dan Bejar, and A.C. Newman all have fairly successful solo projects, and Calder has recently started her own. She releas…

Remember that song “Don’t Dream it’s over”? It’s by Crowded House, can you think of any other of their big hits? I’m struggling, it’s the only one I can remember! They have a free single on amazon today http://amzn.to/chfree which is what sparked my interest! Help me out if you can think of any!

6 Music 'saved' as BBC Trust rejects DG Mark Thompson's cuts plan... but 25% will go from internet budget By Daily Mail Reporter Last updated at 3:37 PM on 5th July 2010 Comments (3) Add to My Stories BBC 6 Music will be saved from closure with the BBC Trust stating that 'a convincing case' has not been made for the station to be shut down. The BBC proposed the station's demise under a strategy rethink, sparking protests from politicians and stars from the worlds of music and broadcasting. The Trust said the Asian Network - the other station the BBC intended to turn off - was 'performing poorly' and that there was a 'case for closure'.…

I really wish music was good as it was during the UK post punk /1980s revival some seven years ago (2003-2007)...we had it all then, from franz ferdiand to snow patrol...everything seemed so fresh. Now it seems blah blah blah. I know that I may not be looking in the right places but could someone please name a few or make a list of some great bands and music coming out this year? 2009 counts too, I suppose. Somebody please spin my perspective and prove to me that this is a worthy year in music so far...

banner thanks to the_gloaming09 and Space Cadet Earlier this year, several Coldplayers compiled lists of their favorite albums of the 2000s. Now I'm bringing you the results! Thanks go to winigwl for organizing this. You can see the original thread with all the lists here. In total, there are 56 submitted lists and 774 separate albums. (I'll begin announcing at 3:30 pm CST (9:30 pm GMT))

Hard to believe that it is already the midpoint of the year. In 5 months we'll all be getting ready to make our best of 2010 lists. I personally find it easier to make my year end list if I make lists throughout the year. So this thread is a chance for you to post a list of your favourite albums of 2010 so far. Don't talk about upcoming albums, talk about what you have actually heard this year and liked. Hopefully this will lead to some new discoveries by everybody!

Hello everybody! I hope I get a little bit help on here, because I've got a request from my sister: She really likes the band Mumford And Sons and already listened to the album over and over again. And now she's hungry for more music like this :D Does anybody know other bands that have a similar style to them? Something folklore-ish or however you describe their music... I would really appreciate your help. :)

Music downloading exploded right around 2000. After years of music being locked up in CDs and on radio, suddenly, the largest music library in the world was at the fingertips of the Internet. In the process, it destroyed the music industry, changed rock music, and pretty much set the rules for media in the twenty-first century. And now, it could either explode even more… or become obsolete. It’s hard to see downloading going away entirely, but here are four reasons we think it’s going to get a lot harder to get people to spend a dollar a song, and why there might be a silver lining in each of these clouds. YouTube It seems odd that a video site would be a threat …

I'm the only girl, that's how you'll know. but I usually just play music. you can always post in here for a request song! http://ksua.uaf.edu/

Hi! This summer I have to travell in train, so I will listen a lot of music. I have realised that I always listen the same band and I want to know more new (or old) bands that follow my music "style". I listen Coldplay, of course, and then usually Travis, U2, Franz Ferdinand, Muse... and then some only songs of other bands like Snow Patrol, RHCP... Recommend me something! :)
