I haven't notice a thread for the subject matter in the title but felt the forum was long overdue for a thread devoted to the genius that is Neil Finn. As a massive fan, i'm looking forward to the new Crowded House album (their second since their reformation). Any other fans? I thoughta fitting way to kick the thread off is to direct you to their new song, Saturday Sun which can be downloaded at the following link for free: http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/sunday-telegraph/intriguing-turn-in-a-crowded-career/story-e6frewt9-1225854928567 Just scroll right down to the bottom of the article where it gives you the option to download.

It has become a Coldplaying tradition that every couple of months the World of Music holds a mixtape exchange. Over previous years it has been run by Eglantine, Redgirl76 and Kite. To start off the new year and the new decade, I have stepped up to the role of hosting the next mixtape exchange. The general idea that you get together a heap of songs that people may not of heard, you enjoy, that sound well together or that were just pulled out of a hat (though I don't really advise the last option); it's really up to interpretation. Basically, if you love to listen to new music and discovering new artists and genres, this is for you. Here are the rules that mostly ha…

Listening to your favourite beats can keep your heart healthy By Simon Neville Last updated at 11:43 PM on 10th April 2010 Comments (0) Add to My Stories Girl listening to an iPod When Elton John and Kiki Dee sang Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, little did they know their song could do just that. Because it seems that listening to music you love or hate can have a physical impact on your heart. A new study has discovered that playing your favourite records can increase your blood circulation and give you the same feel-good factor as going to the gym. Listening to songs people considered ‘joyful’ widened the blood vessels and encou…

Anyone a fan of this fine Australian band? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWlIEBPKl7M]YouTube- The Middle East - Blood (HQ Video)[/ame] Just got hold of The Recordings of the Middle East. I can say that it's one of my new favorite bands. I think if you're a fan of Grizzly Bear, The Antlers, etc., you will fall in love with Middle East. Plus, it sometimes reminds me of Sigur Ros...especially in "Pig Food" and "Tsietsi".. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DM__A86u1GA]YouTube- The Middle East - Tsietsi[/ame]

Bob Dylan left blowin' in the wind after China bans concerts By Mail Foreign Service Last updated at 2:35 PM on 05th April 2010 Comments (6) Add to My Stories He may be 68 and long past his protest days, but it seems Bob Dylan is still considered a subversive threat in China. The government, which remains in Communist hands 20 years after the fall of the Berlin wall, has refused to grant him a permit to perform. They do not want the Chinese public to hear him sing potentially dangerous tracks as The Times They Are a-Changin'. Times They Are a-Changin'? No thanks! China's denial of a performance permit to Bob Dylan means the p…

I don't know if this has been a topic of discussion in the past, my apologies if so. Thanks to so many recommendations from others on coldplaying.com, I have "discovered" Muse. I told my friend, a Radiohead freakboy, to give them a listen. He promptly returned the CD and said 75% Radiohead, 25% Queen/ELO. He didn't hate it, he didn't love it, he just simply stated if you like Radiohead, you'll like Muse and vice versa. So, I decided to listen to some Radiohead. I hadn't really listened to any of their music. It's quite good. There are a few similarities but I think my friend was just being a hater. I think Muse is an amazing group with a very unique style. Rad…

I just bought a new album, well a couple weeks old yesterday of a local musician by the name of Joel Plaskett. I figured there are alot of good bands around the East Coast of Canada that instead of starting a bunch of small threads we can just use this one. Bands like: Wintersleep, Matt Mays & El Torpedo, Joel Plaskett, The Trews, Great Big Sea, Hey Rosetta, and many more... I plan on uploading some random albums to here for you guys to get a taste of some East Coast Band's music.
