After seeing that some coldplay fans are painting their guitars i couldnt help myself and painted mine:)

Here you can tell about your instrument and what kind of music you play. I`m happy if you add images. I`ll start I have a Tenson electric guitar. It cost 2000 NOK (370 USD). It`s pretty good as my first electric. I play mostly Pink Floyd, Coldplay and a little bit U2.

Is there any halfway decent way to mimic a 12 string sound via anything but a modeling amp etc. My band is working on some new stuff that seems suited to that kind of sound, but I don't want to shell out the big bucks for top shelf gear, until I know for sure that it's right for the songs. I'm always looking for an excuse to try new pedals. :D Any thoughts?

Hello everyone. I need to buy an acoustic six string for a guitar class I am taking in school. I know I want an acoustic/electric. Should I get steel or nylon strings ( which is best for rhythm guitar ) ? I plan to later do rhythm guitar in a band. We will probably draw influences from bands like Coldplay, Radiohead, U2, and Snow Patrol. I already own a fender squier, and have tried out my uncles nylon string guitar, so I'm pretty sure I want a steel string, but I'm just trying to make sure.

I'm starting a band. I'm gonna sing and do rhythm guitar. I have a friend who will do lead guitar. We are gonna start out doing acoustic covers ( and hopefully originals ) while street performing. Any suggestions for a set from bands like Coldplay, Snow Patrol, U2, and Radiohead. We plan to start as a coldplay tibute, so I'm trying to make the set Coldplay oriented. I might have to censor some songs, because of a local ban on public profanity. This is really getting on me.... there is a lot of fake music sheets out there, even the one in the instrument room. I'm not sure if its just my playing, that I'm playing wrong, or its the music sheet itself. Now I need help... which one is right?!?!?! ( I'm suppose to test it I know by myself, but I'm too lazy :( ): They are all Lost? Btw

Hi guys, I was wondering if any of you knew what Chris' guitar is tuned to when he plays Life In Technicolor and Violet Hill live. It isnt standard tuning. Its a different tuning because right after he plays Life In Technicolor he goes into Violet Hill on the same guitar, so the tunning has to work for both songs. Its confusing. I really need your help. i'm off for a new guitar (next year), what would you recommend? i prefer stuff like coldplay and other rock. so far i got: Ibanez Superstrat (S-S-H), black, 240€ Squier Tele Affinity (S-S), metallic blue, 160€ Fender 72 Telecaster Thinline (H-H), sunburst, 900€ last one is my newest guitar, you see, i made a jump to a new class of prices (which is "above 500€") ... honestly, i prefer fender guitars, i'm open to all colours and the price should be between 500 and 1100€. i already testet jaguar and jazzmaster, they both are neat, but that's not my final decision. so, any suggestions? Hey guys, does anyone know what instrament is being played right as the song start before the actual music starts. it almost sounds like a knackering like a weird drumstick sound. im trying to recreate it and i no idea what it is. its some type of drum. youd know if you saw them live. it also repeats later in the song lightly

Prior to the live performances of Politik around 2002 or 2003 (see Glastonbury 2002 for an example) there is a synthesizer type instrument that plays an intro to the song...anybody know what notes/chords are being played?

I'm hoping to be getting an electric really soon, and it will most likely be a Casino. Just wondering what everyone's opinion of them are, and if there are any problems or tips that I need to know before getting one. I've tried my friend's Casino, except it was right handed, and i'm a lefty, and it was a fairly long time ago. I'll post more information about the guitar once I find out more. Thanks everyone.
