I have rather splendid set of videos from Earl's Court totalling 20 minutes and 28 seconds or 236MB if you prefer. This is clearly a lot of data and I have had various thoughts about ways of sharing them with the punters out there because I know some people would like to see them. First I was going to do a poll on which one(s) would be made available then I figured forget that because people would miss out on some. Then I decided on maybe putting them all in a ZIP file or a "rar" file or something like that but sadly I have no idea of how to go about doing that so hopefully some techy type out there can help me! How would you recommend bundling all this together and which…

  3. CIA closes unit for capturing bin Laden Jerusalem Post | July 4 2006 The US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) closed the unit charged with catching Osama bin Laden and his senior deputies, The New York Times reported on Tuesday. Established in 1996 and known as "Alec Station," the unit was dismantled at the end of 2005 and its employees reassigned in the CIA Counter-terrorist Center; however, its dissolution was publicly announced only recently. The decision was a milestone for the agency and indicates a significant change in perspective regarding bin Laden's place in Al Qaida in particular and in the international terrorist infrastructure in general. Wh…

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- North Korea launched a long-range Taepodong-2 missile early Wednesday in an apparently unsuccessful test that failed in flight, a senior State Department official said. full story here: http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/asiapcf/07/04/korea.missile/index.html --is it a coincidence this was 'tested' on the day known as Independence Day here in the US?? 7. Nearly 150 people, including many children, are feared dead after a Russian airliner crashed in Siberia. The S7 Airlines Airbus was flying from Moscow when it crashed on landing at Irkutsk airport. The plane reportedly slid off the runway and hit a building at about 0800 on Sunday (2300 GMT Saturday). About 55 people were injured, Russian officials said. The plane was carrying 192 passengers and eight crew. All the crew were said to have died. Many of the passengers were reported to be children travelling to the nearby popular holiday destination of Lake Baikal. The A-310 - operated by S7, known until recently as Sibir Airlines - appeared to veer out of contro…

yes, the world cup is almost over (unfortunately) i still remember the first game ... yeah, i'm a little sad already. i've been waiting for 4 years and then it's only one single month! what are your top three moments of the wc so far? i know it's not over yet .. i really loved the scene between Kahn and Lehmann, when Kahn wished Lehmann luck. there have been so many fights because of the job of the keeper and it's awesome to see them both together working for one aim. i also won't ever forget the minute in which klose scored the goal for germany (last friday). i already thought they would kick us outta the wc but klose suddenly scored. it was amazing. …

Which players have brought shame on "the beautiful game" through their behaviour in the World Cup? My initial suggestions are as follows: Manager: Scolari (Portugal) for encouraging his players to dive and cheat. Cristiano Ronaldo (for persistent cheating and incitement) Ronaldo (for not having the decency to get fit for the tournament) Wayne Rooney (for the "stamping" incident) Frings (Germany) for losing his rag after the Argentina match. Arjen Robben (for persistent diving).

  13. Today, the referee for the final was elected. It's going to be Horacio Elizondo who was the one sending off Rooney after a foul on Portuguese player Carvalho. No matter if it was on purpose or not, the fact that the FIFA chose this referee obviously doesn't mean a good thing when it comes to the decision what's going to happen with Rooney, don't you think? The decision was supposed to be made earlier, but has been delayed to today. Rooney already isn't allowed to play in the first qualification game for the Euro 2008, but what else will happen? It would be horrible for England if Rooney couldn't play in so many games.. But well, we'll see what the FIFA decide…

Strawberry pickers' wages probed Farming Minister Lord Rooker is looking into claims that strawberry pickers working in Kent are being underpaid. A TV investigation said piece-workers for Mansfield Farms were not having their pay topped up if their picking rate left them below the minimum wage. The company said the claims - about workers at Pett Bottom near Canterbury - were being taken "very seriously". The matter is being investigated by Sainsbury's and Marks and Spencer, which buy produce from Mansfield Farms. Two undercover reporters claimed migrant workers from Poland, Latvia and other countries were not having their pay topped up to the minimum hourly…

Accused in Murders and Rape in Iraq By DAVID STOUT and KIRK SEMPLE WASHINGTON, July 3 — Federal prosecutors said today that an American soldier killed an Iraqi man, two women and a little girl in their home the night of March 12 after the soldier and his comrades plotted to rape one of the women while drinking at a traffic checkpoint a short distance away. The prosecutors charged the suspect, Steven D. Green, 21, with shooting the four victims to death. They said he and others raped one of the women. If found guilty, the defendant could be sentenced to death. The charges were announced by the United States attorney for western Kentucky, Dav…

  22. http://boortz.com/nuze/200607/07072006.html#london It was 1 year ago today that Islamic terrorists bombed a bus and the subway in London, killing 52 people and injuring 700 others. But Great Britain's reaction to the terrorist attack is quite different than say....the surrender monkeys in Spain. While they recoiled in fear and elected an Al-Qaeda appeasing government, the UK didn't back down....and is back to business as usual. And why is England so different in their reaction? Because they understand the enemy: Islamic terrorism. Day in and day out, throughout mosques in the Middle East, clerics preach death to countries in the West. Tony Blair knows this. T…

Today it was 1 year since london won the 2012 olympics :) London's Olympic bid - one year on Hugh Pym BBC Business Correspondent Exactly one year has passed since London won the right to host the 2012 Olympics. So what has happened in that time? How much more of a reality is the British capital's games? In terms of infrastructure there is very little to see. To be precise, there is one big hole in the ground. The first major contract at the Games site near Stratford in east London began in April. It involved dismantling pylons and taking overhead power lines underground. A 30 metre deep shaft has been excavated. Tunnels bored out from there will car…
