THE **I LOVE HARRY POTTER** THREAD

Featured Replies

Is the new movie better than the sixth? I rather liked that one even though I sort of vowed to never see a Potter movie after seeing the fifth (a great book but SUCH a crappy movie :blank:).

Bleh, I need to find someone to go with me. :disappointed:

YES!

Though, I was completely disappointed with the sixth, after they missed that entire fight scene at the end...

Six lacked action but overall I think they managed to convey the most important events of the book pretty well. I was only a bit disappointed by the way they portrayed Dumbledore's death, it was way too obvious that Snape wasn't one of the bad guys. And I guess they left out the Hogwarts battle scene because it would seem quite similar to the one in DH 2. :nice:

I really want to see how they'll film Snape's childhood chapter.

gonna see it again tonight :cheesy:

Omg I just found a whole bunch of lightning bolt scars at work (I work at a bookstore, and they are left over from the release of DH in 2007!)! I nabbed a few to wear...

Why can it be July already?

THIS.

can i just say that after i've now seen the new movie twice, my fav scene is the bit when harry and hermione dance. actually, that's my fav scene EVER, from all harry potter films  it's so very sweet and works so well with nick cave's song. magic, love love love it.

^ I feel kind of bad for the Nick Cave fans who've had the you-tube page for that song completely hi-jacked by squeeming Harry Potter fangirls. I agree btw, though I understand those who hate the scene, I hated it at first for canonist reasons.

One of my friends told me that both Harry Potter and Twilight are for sissies.

Seriously- how can Harry Potter and Twilight be even placed in the category?

It discomforts me hearing the word twilight casually mentioned alongside harry potter in this thread.

um i don't love harry potter

but

the new movie sucks omg

Have you watched them all the way through and enjoyed them though?

Yes. I've enjoyed them all up until this one. :\

Hmmmm, maybe you're just odd :p

What didn't you like about it?

Most people are actually the opposite of that. Saying the last few sucked, but this was better. However, I have heard people who hadn't read the books say they thought it was boring. The idea behind part 1 was to take care of character development, while the 2nd part is going to be really fast-paced and action packed.

A friend of mine recently saw it, and she was disappointed because "it was too dark".

But the book is pretty dark, aside from some happy and funny moments...but I still think that the movie had uplifting moments!

I'm going to see it again once I'm done with finals!

huh, that's a new one. I'd say the book was much darker considering some of the bits they left out.

Just saw it with the motherling. I approve!

I want to see part 2 so i can see molly wipe the floor with Bellatrix

YESSSSS that will be great!!

Me tooooooo :embarrassed: just 'cuz she's all emo and it's like 'cheer up let us partake in dancing' |D

Second fave part would be the explaining of the Three Brothers tale with animation, that was pretty well done. Pretty too *_*

The first part is what I thought... Order of the Phoenix was the biggest offender IMO, but they've gradually risen back to glory.

My motherling whom I took along thought it was good and she hasn't read the books, so :\ I'm starting to feel they're getting a bit careless explaining things to new viewers though but the general premise was attained.

I think the same for what's gonna happen in part 2. Part 2 will be the when the pace speeds up.

Saw Deathly Hallows last night...

EXCELLENT!!!

I think all the movies have been very complimentary to the books thus far.... and yes, this movie was darker than the rest.. but so was the book!!! I laughed, I cried.. can't wait for July!!

Poor Dobby! I knew it was coming but I barely was able to not cry in the theatres:P

I laughed so much when they became the people from the ministry

I'm going to see Deathly Hallows next week

After the long wait, I finally saw Deathly Hallows last night.

Thought it was great! Possibly my favourite of the Potter films.

One part made me jump so much, I ended up throwing my popcorn over my brother.

^

IKR, some parts are pretty jump-worthy. And it's no better second time round :P
