Random Coldplay thoughts...

Featured Replies

random. Twenty minutes ago , I was watching the very end of live 2003 and I passed out on the floor. No, it wasn't the inexorable ecstasy of the performance, but rather the fact I stood up really fast to go turn off the DVD player, and stretching my arms above my head only contributed to the light-headedness.

  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

  • I ran away
    I ran away

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

today at 9AM, i was walking to an art museum in rotterdam (which was CLOSED, grr), when i heard a certain distinctive voice waft over the dijk...some construction worker was blasting "speed of sound" out of some backhoe or something!

then, later today, there was construction going on in three different parts of my house here. all the workers happened to have their radios tuned to the same station...so when "in my place" came on it was like it was playing through the entire house! :D :nice:

I just found on the EXACT moment that I fell seriously in love with Coldplay on YouTube :nice:.

I'd liked Parachutes, and played it to death, literally, so much so I'd bored myself. :P

So by the time August 2002 rolled around I was completely unaware that they had a new album. I was however (for my sins) a Big Brother addict, I was completely obsessed with the third series (with Kate, Jade, Spencer et al). When it was over they had a reunion in the house with all the housemates and played the best bits, which I loved, had taped and played over and over.

And what was the song accompanying the best bits? Why it was In My Place. My Big Brother obsession quickly turned into a Coldplay obsession, it was only 6 months later I joined Coldplaying. :D

I just found those best bits on YouTube now and they made me cry, as pathetic as that is. I think it's because it reminds me of a certain point in my life, I dunno. But there you have it, a huge moment in my Coldplay history.

awwww, Mich! I love that story! *sheds a tear for you*

So I gave my little sister my old iPod mini and when I plugged the iPod into the computer, the High School Musical accidentally got deleted off the iPod (teehee), so the only thing left on the iPod was VLVAD. I would have added more songs to it, but I didn't have time so VLVAD was all I could do. My little sister has been listening to the album nonstop now, and her favorite song is VH (oddly enough...I thought she would like VLV better...but guess not!) and today she turned to me while she was listening and said 'you know what's my second favorite song? Lost!' :D She says she 'likes the beat' haha. :P And she continues singing the song over and over. And then later on during the day she says 'oh, I like strawberry swing too. It's a cool name!'

I'm converting my little sister, LMAO!

(Btw, she's nine years old...if you are wondering...)

Good job, Annie. One family member and friend at a time

I went to bed really late last night and today I woke up at 1:36. And the next time I looked at the clock it was 1:42. Close.

i was at a bar tonight in midtown (new york city), and they were playing all 80's music. it somehow went from erasure to PYT (michael jackson) then to prince. good stuff. and i was thinking damn they really should play some coldplay. and not long after my mind was wandering (which it does 24/7) since i have this great fantasy ill run into chris at some nondescript bar - some guy walks in who looks very similar to him. i nearly jumped off the chair, but realized it would be so rude to leave my date. the CM look alike did notice me nearly falling off the chair and smiled. damn it - wasnt the real thing.

right about now this is all i can think 'im drunk for your love - speak to me now, speak to me someone'. f*** i really need sleep - my head is spinning which is not making for a good night. ill go to sleep imagining chris was martin holding my hand singing to me (martin = lead singer of gene - who serenaded me at one concert before begging me to go home with him. argh. why wasnt it mr martin instead of just plain martin). hahaha oh i so need sleep im beyond drunk

Hey look, 42 posts! xneverwherex, you have accidentally hit the magic number, so perhaps your luck has changed!

I just noticed not too long ago, that 24 seconds into Strawberry Swing, Chis says "Hi Chuck"!:)

ummmm.... this is random. I was jus singing The Nappies and i reached the part when chris says "you're not gonna hump me for 42 days". Maybe thats wat the number 42 means. The longest chris can go without sex or something lol

Same with me and my sister.

She always told me she HATES CP and that i should turn off the music when i listen to them. last night we were alone at home and i listened to vlv on the big stereo from my dad (sounds amazing!) When we heard track 7 she was like 'dani what's that song called?' i couldn't believe my ears, my sister asked me something bout Coldplay :stunned: i was like 'errrrm viva la vida, why?' 'well errm its my favourite song of coldplay.... (pause).... and maybe my favourite song i know at the moment.' Then she told me that she likes Lost! and Yes, and all the songs with beat but not these sad songs. She's always imitating chris with the "ohh, oooooh, ooooooh" in '42' with her melodramatic face. :laugh3: you should've seen that.. so funny

oohhh lets hope my luck has changed. although i just found out i have to have x-rays on my left leg on monday as its likely i pulled a muscle from running. but the good news is - i did learn that a) kayaking is free in NY from 5-7 on the hudson river piers and b) its one of the quietest and most beautiful spots of the city that the whole world hasnt yet found out about and c) lots of cute guys bicycle and run there (i think theyre all gay - but doesnt matter - makes for good eye-candy)... naturally i have a bad feeling this sports doc will say 'rachel - running not so good you really f-ed up your leg - do yoga instead'. actually that wouldnt be so bad.

either way - next time im down there im bringing my ipod and listening to yellow as the stars appear with a view of Jersey across the water. *sigh*

i was watching Emma starring Gwyneth and there is this scene where she talks about someone named Mr. Martin :)

Good job, Annie. One family member and friend at a time

Teehee yep, I'm working on it!

Awwwww that's too cute!! I was upstair this morning and I heard my sister singing '42' at the top of her lungs. :laugh3: She was screaming 'YOU THOUGHT YOU MIGHT BE A A GHOST!'

I was in Asda last night, and I saw a guy walking towards me wearing the green X&Y Isle of Wight Coldplay t-shirt.... :nice: I have one the same. somewhere in my cupboard!

It made me think back to the festival.... 2 years ago!! *gulp* scary thought.

so i opened up my gmail account to see coldplay in the subject matter. and then i got another email saying how much i rock for helping out bicycle thieves. coldplay brings the love!

X-rays because of a pulled muscle??:stunned::confused: I are confuzzed! Must be they suspect a hairline fracture.. Gee, that's no fun! Glad you keep in shape, as it really does make life good!;)

Hey, the kayaking sounds like fun!! Yes, I have heard that too, actually - so the secret's out;), but just most NYers are too busy to realize it! ...And so you chase the cute guys on bicycles I gather?? Hmm.. good way to keep in shape!:P Aw, comeon! Why don't you catch one and find out?

Yea, that is a good nature & star-gazing song, that's for sure... anyhow, have a good rest, get healed up, and keep kayaking on the mighty Hudson!!;)

I just reached 4,200 posts! Well, Now it's 4,201...

I stay up really late, and this morning I was watching a short film and the guy and his son were at a playground and the sun holds up a baseball player figurine and it's jersey number was 42! I think that number had a special meaning to the man, I wasn't really paying attention.

And I heard clocks today. :nice: Ooooh, and I noticed this a while back when I was watching Live 2003: When Chris was doing his warm-ups in the bathroom I think one of them was "Say AAAAAHHHH." I did that same warm-up in my vocal class and when I was in the school musical! I feel so special, haha.

I wonder if chris is doing the hokey cokey to gwyneth right now.

"in, out, in out *splat* shake it all about"

I couldn't teach love of coldplay to anyone :((

Aww of course you can! Anyone can, really, but it can be tough. Sometimes people are too stubborn. :P But it takes time and I'm sure you'll make someone fall in love with Coldplay, just as I did. :nice:

Ergh, yeah, a lot of the ignorant kids here say 'You know how I know your gay? You listen to Coldplay!' (In reference to The 40 Year-Old Virgin). :dozey:

You should just listen to Coldplay constantly while around your friends, and it'll get stuck in their heads and then they'll ask you what it is. :D And they'll start liking it!
