Well, the only artist I actually like out of that list is U2 and I'm not an unconditional fan either. I'm not really fond of anything post Joshua Tree. So yes, I do think it was a mistake for them to perform.

I'm assuming (for the sake of my sanity) that a lot of it was just sarcastic trolls. Still, no doubt some Kanye fans really did not know who Paul McCartney was.

I am sure a lot of it was sarcastic, but if some of the youngsters did not know who Paul was hopefully they´d rediscover the Beatles in the process :) I sure remember a time when I did not know who the Beatles were except some group my mum apparently was crazy about back in the days haha

LOL I just think in general americans dont know much bout the rest of the world, and yeah the Beatles were huge in the US too, but they still qualify as "the rest of the world" hehe

hahaa! no offense, but i have plenty of experience in that regard. i'm from a south asian country and out of the academic setting, if i can find one person who knows of my home country in ten people, i'm happy. once one person asked if i was chinese when i was with a chinese person :)

Well it is true that we in the west in general are ignorant of the rest of the world as well, guilty as charged! But I would say europeans are more informed about the rest of the world than americans are. Now after I´ve seen the media on tv here for a few days...well lets say I am not surprised haha Media is far from perfect in other countries too, but I accidentally hit the fox channel and I was like...*shocked, turns off tv* lol

I stupidly pre-ordered the album from Amazon thinking I might get it a day early but it's not due to arrive till Wednesday! :rolleyes:

I didn't really want to listen to the leak as the quality wasn't good. Although I can't say I'm looking forward to Wednesday. It's going to be a session of face palming, cursing the world and an intensified case of the Oldplay blues :(
