^I personally find it very hard to choose which songs don't deserve a 10/10... Lol.

Ah, I miss those times when I had so much free time to spend here...

  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

  • I ran away
    I ran away

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

Coldplay Official just surpassed 2 billion views on YouTube.

Before AHFOD, Coldplay had released a song starting with every letter of the alphabet except J, K, Q, and Z. With the addition of Kaleidoscope, we can now cross K off that list

Interesting!

I was at church, and I looked over, and I saw someone wearing these cool shoes with color spectrum wheels all over them!

had to laugh at this one.

Coldplay's ups and downs. Man they really hit rock bottom at X and Y didn't they?

Stumbled upon many many coldplayers that don't post anymore. This place is a ghost town :(

Been obsessed with the Oceans video

Hope they'll play it on tour maybe

And Politik and God Put A Smile Upon Your Face and Violet Hill and Cemeteries Of London and Strawberry Swing and Death And All His Friends and White Shadows and Square One and Talk and Charlie Brown and Don't Panic

*sigh*

The MX tour was so amazing tbh

You know what just happened ? I was sitting in my room, door closed, and my roommate was sitting in front of the TV. Suddenly I hear the riff of AOAL loudly through the door ! I hesitated for some seconds then I went out of my room and into the living room. Turns out it was only a stupid Beats advertisement !! In order not to stand around awkwardly I grabbed a glass of milk from the kitchen corner to give a "purpose" to my coming out of my room (a purpose other than, "Oh I just heard 5 seconds of a Coldplay song and got excited !") Now I'm back in my room and have to drink that stupid milk, grrrrrrr.

My cousin just texted me a link of Coldplay performing Yellow in 2000 and said: nerd Chris come back

haha and now I'm missing nerd Chris :P

What was the X song that isn't X marks the spot?

As much as I love Coldplay, am I the only one who can't really rate their best songs/albums a 10/10?

Personally my top 3 songs are 10/10 for me.

As for the Oceans video, I love that video! I just discovered it a month or so ago too. I was just looking random Coldplay music and saw that, clicked it since I like Oceans and it's so nice,. I love that song, and I love Oceans. The setting fits the song so well. I love the two or so times where the camera spins around to give a view of the ramp and the lights going down... that song kind of makes you look around, notice the darker and more interesting details... it's magical to be honest. My third favorite song off GS for sure. I also like how the live thing kind of goes you know. It's so interesting.

MX tour: I completely agree. So full of life, energe, color... that looks amazing.

LOL well that was dumb for that commercial to come on.

BTW I heard AOAL on the Hit List this morning :D

You know what I've been wondering? There were a ton of songs discarded from the X&Y sessions, most of which we never have even heard. As we all know, there are numerous references in the songs that actually did make the album that refer back to some of the songs released as B-sides or that was never released, but were leaked. "Thing's you'll never understand" --> Things I Don't Understand. "You can climb a ladder up to the sun" --> Ladder To The Sun. There's one more but I'm not sure. Because of this, we can say with confidence that there are many more references in songs that made the album to songs that were never meant to be heard. In fact, there were 4 albums worth of discrarded songs. There's probably references to the titles of what those songs were in the X&Y songs. It's crazy when you think about it, Coldplay could be giving us hints to what these song's titles were that were never heard by anyone except the band themselves. Some possibilities are "Fighting with my weak hand" "Driven to Distraction" "Do Something That's Never Been Done" "Take a Picture" "In a Permanent State" <-- That one's quite likely I think.

But anyway you get my point.

Hopefully one day these tracks will somehow come to light and get leaked! :D Hopefully you've also read this all because I honestly think that this is a strong possibility and a good thought....

I haven't rated any of their albums a 10, Viva is highest with a 9.2.

For songs, I honestly think only Clocks deserves a 10. There are lots of songs in the 9.5-9.9 range for me, like Paradise, Midnight, Square One, Yellow and Viva la Vida.

Did anyone see my last post about the X&Y song references? It's on the last page. I just needed to post this because I feel like this is a great idea and that if I hadn't have made the decision to post this than it'd go unnoticed. I just want people to know that possibilities. :D

I like your theory !!

I never even thought of that. Genius!

I hope when Coldplay are done for good (there better be one more great album after the break) they release a huge career-spanning compilation boxset with all the b-sides and unreleased songs. It would be the ultimate treat for hardcore Coldplayers like us. We think we've heard it all, but there must be soo many songs that never saw the light of day..

X&Y

Random Coldplay thought...I am starting to almost be converted from Gibson to Fender guitars, just because I hear the wonderful sounds Jonny can get out of them. I should try one one day

This video is getting hated on for all the wrong reasons.

When I saw the like to dislike ratio I expected the comment section to be full of Coldplay fans rightly criticizing the bands decision to do the show.

But it's not. It's people saying they want Britney Spears  "We want Britney! who cares about Coldplay"

My sides hurt from laughing :D The stupidity of the world astounds me sometimes.

Not sure why they would be criticised to perform on a such a huge platform that have previously featured all sorts of musicians, from Bruce Springsteen to The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, U2, Prince etc.

Because they will be lip-syncing/miming and the emphasis won't be placed on the music, rather the spectacle and special guests?

So you´re saying all the aforementioned artists also made a mistake by saying yes to perform? :) I agree with you though, the emphasis is definitely not on the music itself, but on the show as a whole. Its not like seeing the band perform in an obscure garage only with their four instruments hehe But then there are plenty of live shows to enjoy the music fully. Here I think artists not only accept to come because its a huge platform and so many people will be watching/be exposed to the music, but also because its an opportunity to do something creative and unique with the choreography, so I am sure its also fun for them to plan the setlist and all that :)

Well, the only artist I actually like out of that list is U2 and I'm not an unconditional fan either. I'm not really fond of anything post Joshua Tree. So yes, I do think it was a mistake for them to perform.
