OMG High Speed is being played on the radio! What are the chances? A beautiful surprise x

Very rare. High Speed is not a single. Lucky!

I finally found the song I've been looking for for so long today... thank god I went out and listened to the radio.

  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

  • I ran away
    I ran away

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

Seen that clip of Chris Martin performing Clocks. He sings so well it's unreal!! I mean I watched one live performance recently with the whole band and it was obviously very enjoyable but I mean Chris Martin it almost seemed like was all over the place at some points! He was much better in this performance... goes to show what not jumping around all over the place can do for the actual performance :wink2:

Then again, their newer songs are kind of meant to be bounced around all over the place to. It's Clocks, it's an oldplay song that doesn't need him bouncing around all over the place and barely being able to catch his breath! It's truly amazing what he can do when he just remains... calm.

This isn't meant to be your typical Newplay bashing post btw. Please don't take it that way!! I still love the new Coldplay concerts no matter what. Just an observation and honest thoughts! :)

EDIT: One thing though we know for sure because of the minor mistakes he still makes: It isn't lip synced like most pop acts nowadays. :D

Microwavable elephant?!! What?! How does that work?

Not sure what performance you are talking about, but you do know he lip syncs Clocks now, right?

he used to be on here, i think

but like many moons ago, during the VIVA era of course :P

Oh, he still talks here every now and then, so not definitely not as long ago as you think.

what!!! He lip syncs Clocks?! Lame!!

(btw, it was that performance that Coldplaying twitter posted recently, It's hard to explain, it was performance with just him, it began with him playing acoustic guitar then he played the piano, so yeah it was just him, no drums or guitar or anything else, maybe some backing tracks but that's it. Sure you know what I mean now :))

But I mean, that is seriously lame. I didn't know that. How do you know he lip syncs Clocks now? Because I still found some areas where he for sure didn't lip sync it, it wasn't good enough to be a pre recorded vocal track (unless he recorded one just for live performances...)

Like. No way. That really breaks my heart. I can't believe Chris Martin, once such an amazing vocalist, has to resort to mainstream pop tactics like autotune in studio versions and now lip syncing. I never though this day would come... what a bummer to know. Seems like they might just be falling further down the mainstream spiral of doom... :(

Like, come on Chris Martin. You don't need to lip sync!! Just try, don't be lazy with vocals! Ugh I mean if he actually lip syncs that really make my view of Coldplay go down further... they don't need that... I miss the days when that wasn't a thing...

Then again, he doesn't lip most tracks so I guess I can't be too too mad.

i did now know that! it warms my heart to think so many people from back then still visit at least once in a while. this place is hard to resist even after so many years :P

And lip syncing was blatantly obvious at the Made in America festival

From the videos I've watched he may be lipping some parts because they seem to be absolutely on point but frequently mixed with minor mistakes...

I didn't watch the Made in America festival yet. Going to have to check it out.

EDIT: Which one should I watch? Can't find Clocks. HFTW didn't seem lipped.

It's just clocks....any concert you can find really

At some points it does seem a little 'perfect" as compared to the other songs so it probably lipped but only in certain spots because I can tell there's too many minor variations in some areas for it to be lipped (again, unless he recorded a version just for live performances to still make it sound real but he only has to lip...)

how much of that thread have you read? there's a lot of info in there that would probably answer most of your questions. i'm almost positive it is a version he must have recorded specifically for the live shows. the way he sings sounds like it was recorded in a small room and not in front of thousands of people :P

Now that I think about it that last part of your post makes sense looking back on it...

I only checked out the videos, never bothered to read anything else :P But I will now!

I can't see why they would scrap it from the studio version, hopefully this section emerges again in the future.

Scrap it? I thought he made it up on the spot :3

This whole set was so beautiful. Every single song sounded gorgeous and heartfelt.

They should play acoustic gigs more often :wacky:

soo i just discovered this song. apparently, chris did a song with a band called faultline. can we just take a moment to appreciate chris's voice on this?

The song is hauntingly beautiful, Chris's voice is perfect as always, it would have fitted perfectly on Ghost Stories. Chris did two songs with Faultline, here is the other one...

How have I not seen this before D:

These songs are so lovely D:

Thank you so much for sharing :') <3

what i find most interesting about this tweet is that i am almost 100% certain Chris wrote this because it says "Jay" and not Jay-Z

but Jonny's initial is first, then Chris's

When did Chris learn how to use capitalization and punctuation? D;

Also why does this sound so beautiful :bigcry:

Chris' voice and David Rossi's gorgeous violin playing :bigcry::bigcry::bigcry:

And stop singing 'boys don't cry' like that and making me cry

I NEED the full cover right now :bigcry:

Today I saw that a girl in my school had a flower of life symbol glued on her folder! I think it even had as many circles as the coldplay one, she had coloured it in a different way though (not just the lines but the whole thing)

What the heck [emoji23]

O.M.G.

This made my day.

Lmao [emoji23]

Me :D

But WHY did they split it???

:bomb:

I have no idea I got kinda angry at that lol:huh: I was just enjoying the concert and then they suddenly announced to only play half of it:/ I'm sure it's still here on Coldplaying anyway though.

Well, I saw another Coldplay shirt about 5 minutes ago. I was walking back to my dorm from the library and saw an awesome one that said "Coldplay" in the old font and had a black and white picture of the band that looked to be from sometime around the AROBTTH or X&Y era.

Me too!

But I´m pretty sure that we are able to find it somewhere on Coldplaying :happy2:

But come on, playing half of VLV and then saying that they`ll play the rest of the concert on October 17th??? :o

Yeah, I first thought it was some kind of joke. That's almost a month!! If they had played it tomorrow or something i would understand.

In October they will be like "Hey maybe you remember a month ago we played half a coldplay concert, well we're gonna play the rest now" lol:D
